Durant was my stop for the night - after a full day of work and 5 hours on the road - 10pm dinner choices are rather limited in this small town. National chain Applebees delivered. Friendly and interactive bar staff, decent food (pretzels (appetizer) and the chicken quesadillas hit the spot) I will keep the spot on my restaurant list. They food was great!! My boyfriend and I had the queso and chips and mozzarella sticks and also the chicken Alfredo and it was great!! The service was amazing! Oh wow. Service was lackluster and very slow. We got there pretty early and server was inattentive and spent time talking. Food took forever to come. It is Applebees so not surprised food was only heated onsite, so not sure why it took 35 minute? then it got busy, and couldn't get our check. Only the hostess seemed to be working with any effort. As frequent lunch customers. All I can say is do not do it!!!! Not crowed at 12:45. Took 45 minutes to get a cold burger without fries. Fries came late. Were cold. The first thing I noticed was a very friendly atmosphere as the workers helped customers. As we sat down we were treated greatly and everything came out excellent and delicious. Charlie was our waiter and he did an amazing job and is what warranted the 5-star review for this location. I would go as far to say that the service provided by Charlie was great enough for me to consider coming back to this location, despite me living over 2 hours away. Hadn't tried out an Applebee's in years.. this location was friendly and had good weight staff. we just wanted a little light lunch and ask for a suggestion from the waiter. he suggested their Asian taco appetizer so we ordered that and 2 cups of soup. Perfect and everything was so flavorful I had the tomato soup my husband had the tortilla soup, and the suggestion of the Asian taco appetizers were amazing! read more

Lucky to be getting 1 star! Arrived and got sat down. Took our waitress 10 minutes to take our drink order! She seemed to not want to even be there. Very rude and disrespectful. Ordered our appetizers and waited 30 minutes to receive those. We placed our food order around the same time. When we received our appetizers they were cold like it had been up for awhile. Waited about 30 more minutes for our food and waved another waitress down to see what was going on. She went back to check on our food and came back and said our waitress never even entered the order. She said she would enter it in but it'd be about another 20 minutes so we decided to just pay our check and leave. Our waitress brought the check with no apology and said I took the drinks off for you but you still have to pay for the appetizers...(that were cold in case I forgot to mention) terrible service and would advise Applebees get their crap together. read more

Worst experience I ever had ever since y'all opened up here in Durant. Service was 2.5 out of 10. I got there before 12 didn't get my food till 12:40 while people that came in 10-20 mins after me got their food and was eating it before the server finally came to check on us. Didn't get a refill the whole time because the server didn't ask or take the time to come to my table again after he got our order. Despite the fact that the computer system was down for the whole corporation, both the welcoming hostess and our waiter, Luke, explained the situation and handled everything smoothly. TERRIBLE to-go service! If it was just one instance I wouldn't be upset. However, they are consistently 20-30 minutes past the stated pick-up time. This place is not very good in my opinion. The food is ok, the service is ok . I would highly recommend eating it there. I spent $70.00 for 4 to eat and took it home. It was not good at all. Everything from the moment we got sat down, went downhill and fast. My boyfriend got up to use the restroom. Our servers proceed to ask my our drink order. My boyfriend gets back and our server comes around to take our full order. The server then proceeds to ask me for my order only making eye contact with me only. No even for a second asking my boyfriend what he wanted to eat or nothing. I spoke up before our server walked away and said to my boyfriend what do you want to eat. Server then realized and wrote down his order but still made no eye contact towards my boyfriend. We get our food shortly after the order was placed. To find out after two bites his burger was completely raw. I told him do not eat it. We will talk to the manager. The manager comes over and says he we will remake it, we declined and said we would pay for what we have eaten/drank. But we were going to take our business else where. Never returning here....every waiter/waitress or manager just ruins the experience...I use to love coming here to hang with friends after working out or even during my college days. But the last 2 years has just been awful...I could give you a run down of everything, but just gonna give the tonight experience. Everything started off well. I ordered the chicken wonton tacos and boneless wings. Those items are on the appetizer list and it's after 9pm on a Wednesday. Well the waiter is nice and food comes out fine. The bill comes around and the apps are put down as full price. Well, I tell the waiter that hey these are suppose to be half price. He tells me they don't do half price apps on Wednesday...ok???? Then he comes back and says "I apologize we do do the half price apps tonight, but what you ordered isn't on there." I turn look at the lil flyer on the table and it's at least got the wings on it??? Anyway, I'm like whatever. I give him my card and he comes back and tells me to sign the top....but he doesn't leave. He stands over me and watches me write the tip, total, and sign....like bro, do you just wanna sit beside me and watch??? Anyways the hovering done it for me with the list of other bad experience. She was trashy, rude, and complained about everything after requesting free birthday shots which Applebee's does not do. After spending the worst hour of my life with this girl and 3 of her friends, they left me no tip other than some chewed up gum that I had to scrape off the bar top. I worked a long day and did not get the hotel until 12:30 am. I had not had dinner yet and wanted something other than fast food. Only two options where IHOP and Applebee's. The service was great Brandi took great care of me. She got my order right all the way down to extra ice in separate cup for my Iced Tea. I was in an appetizer mode she informed that all appetizer's were half off. She kept my iced tea full through the hole meal. Everything food and service was great. The one star deduction was for the funky smell in the bathroom. Otherwise I would give a full five stars. The key here is open till 2:00 am and appetizer's half off M-F after 9:00 pm. The food overall here is on par with most applebees i've had the pleasure of visiting. Staff can be slower in the late evening hours but to be expected due to downstaffing. I was appalled when my young 5 yr old child pulled a long string of plastic from his mouth as he seemed like he was enjoying it. To top that off, the macaroni looked as if it were only microwaved at the least. Yes I understand, this is not a gourmet restaurant, but is it so much to ask for to have some fresh Mac and cheese? No, I think not. The food was severely below par. My meal would better have been prepared by a local street vendor. I was very disappointed in visiting this Applebee's. Since I travel and have been in many states this place was below the standards that I have experienced in other locations. I sat at the bar since this is what I do when I dine alone. The bartender seemed to focus only on the locals. It took sometime to place order but my food did come out in a timely manner. I wanted to order a second glass of wine but this took some time and after I ordered it took even a longer time to wait. I ordered twice before I got my wine. It also took a lot of time to get my bill which I was charged $2.00 more a glass of wine than what menu listed. I paid the extra $4.00 because I was tired and wanted to leave. Best food in Durant that I have tasted I a long time. Everything was amazing. I had a 6oz steak with fries and chips w/ salsa. It was the best, perfectly cooked and had very little fat on it. Fries was evenly seasoned and had an outstanding flavor. I normally don't eat salsa by the spoon full but this salsa I could not get enough of. It had this perfect mix of sweet but hot taste. Finally, after all that, I order dessert. I had the triple chocolate cake with ice cream. It was so warm and delicious. The size portions was perfected and I definitely left full but yet wanted more. Wow.. Absolute worst service I have ever received. Waitress argued with us multiple times and didn't have very good knowledge of their menu items. Took us over an hour to get our food and we got there at approx 8:15pm on a Sunday so well after the dinner rush. We got our ticket at 9:42pm. Server walked away without taking all of our drink orders and didn't come back for a long time. The table next to us ordered a draft beer. Waitress asked if they would like a tall. Customer asked how large that is. Waitress went to another table with people still drinking their drinks and picked up a man's partially filled beer and said this big.
