Applebee's pay at the table machine states specifically that the "tip is calculated based on total before tax." It clearly isn't. I spoke to the manager a month ago about the issue and he was surprised and didn't know that, but he'd make sure the issue was addressed. It wasn't. I'm back again and it's still incorrect. The tip on the tax isn't so much the issue as the downright lie they are perpetuating now. They had constructive notice and did nothing. I won't come here again!! Food mediocre. Hostess was horrible seating us. We could not sit were she wanted us because the tables were too close together. I asked her if we can move to a Booth. She said the Booth next to us is taken. I told her that I could not sit because the tables were too close together. She was not accommodating at all. I had to sit in the isle were everyone walks until I talked to our waiter. The hostess was a young call who could not care any less. I got no apology from her or the manager. We noticed a lot of immaturity amongst all the waiters except ours. One waiter yells out " tables clean! " she waved her hand up and was very loud. I eat lunch here now and then. The service is always good and the food consistent. I have no problem recommending this restaurant for American food. I enjoy the Southwest Steak salad. If you do not like chain restaurants then this is not the place for you it is run on a system and seems to be run well. My son and I ate here the other night and my food was very disappointing again. I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was rubbery, Caesar dressing was very bland and the lettuce was limp. Its not hard to mess up a Caesar salad but they managed to do it, worst Caesar salad I've ever had. We made a Carside To Go order for dinner of hot wings, two entrees and a kids meal. The buffalo wings were cold and the celery pieces were actually the ends of the stalks that aren't to supposed be eaten. Extremely disappointing experience. Went there at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Big mistake. Packed to the gills. Waited 15 minutes to be seated (not bad) then after waiting 45 minutes(!!) for our food to arrive the person comes up to the table and tells us they were out of baked potatoes. How in the h*ll do you run out of baked potatoes at 7:30 in the evening?! Then waited another 5 minutes for the food to arrive. Ordered a Top Sirloin dinner and a chicken breast dinner. Portions were very small and the food was luke warm at best. Then waited another 15 minutes for the person to bring the check and pay. The restaurant was very cold and when the heat did go on it would warm up just to go back to being cold again. We were taking off and putting on our jackets the entire time. Not the worst experience, but very close. Will NEVER be back. read more

Ugh! Horrible service, yet again, but at nearby Applebee's. Our server seemed more interested in visiting with his female friends. Not once did he come by to ask how the food was, etc. He was going to bring my husband's salad out with the main course. We had to ask him to serve it first. He never asked my husband what he wanted on his baked potato. The potato was hard and came with only sour cream. My French onion soup wasn't good. My husband's shrimp, and sauce, seemed like an afterthought on the steak. The salads were good. There was a dirty fork under our table and garbage. In other words, the food wasn't worth what we were charged. I wouldn't have given the waiter a 10% tip as he didn't deserve it. We can also place the blame on the cooks. Not a very busy evening and it took a half hour to get our food. Sad to say, we will never set foot in any more Applebee's ever again. read more

This is the best Applebee's I have ever been to. I have found that even though they have a standard menu and decor Applebee's are very different in the way they execute their dishes. I have had nearly everything on the menu and have enjoyed it. The other night I had their new bone in pork chop and it was perfectly cooked and the grilled veggies were terrific. If you have been disappointed in other Applebee's but like the menu, give the Covington location a try, they do it right. read more

Applebees is pretty consistent with their food and with their staff. They are always courteous and the food comes within a decent amount of time. With a 3 year old and a newborn, this place is pretty family friendly. We came in yesterday. It seemed a bit busy and also seemed like the staff was maybe having a meeting? We were sat immediately and helped soon after. Our waitress was off duty but that didn't interrupt our order, no notes got lost either. Our food came with a fair amount of time between dishes, all our requests were met and their drinks were amazing we asked for the watermelon, and blackberry they were also able to blend them for us which was sweet on their part for the extra effort. We returned to this Applebee's after a year as they always seemed to mess up my order somehow but my husbands was usually right and I regret coming back, although we were seated promptly and the waiter brought our beverages right away it went downhill after that, our order of appetizers (classic plate) took twenty minutes to arrive at our table and I had to immediately send them back as they were cold, not warm, COLD, of course this meant our dinner came out two minutes later since we asked to have our entrees after our appetizers, my hubby ordered a steak medium rare preferably on the rarer side it was well done and dry, my meal was ok but also dry...we asked for a Togo container for the steak as we planned to give it to our dog, after waiting ten minutes we left empty handed, I doubt if we will return since this place has let us down on numerous occasions read more

I am really not a complainer but, I just feel compelled to write this review. I have done the Carside at this Applebees before and It has always been OK. My experience there tonight was horrible. It took forever for the Carside attendant to make initial contact. She took my card for the bill and then, I waited and waited again. She finally came back out with my card and my dinner. She stated that it took so long because the baked potatoe in my meal was hard and she had them replace it. Well, the potatoe I took home was hard as a rock. I paid extra to have it "Loaded" which, constituted a drop of sour cream, a few crumbs of bacon and cheese. Poor service. If your under staffed, having a problem, just say so. Don't make customers wait and wait and then send them down the road with a less than meal. I'll find somewhere else to go. read more

I 8 here recently wit' some of my family. We arrived around 4 p.m. & we were seated right away upon entering. The waitress was very nice & provided gr8 service. I got the grilled shrimp + a full rack of sweet Carolina ribs wit' fries. I also had some kind of alcoholic drink but can't remember what it was!? Everything was perfect! My Grandpa especially liked his steak, saying it was better than most steaks he gets elsewhere. It a pretty chill vibe.
