Came in late on a Monday night. Our waitress Emily was super nice and helpful with answering questions. We stayed until closing and she didn't make us feel rushed. The new updated late night menu and happy hour cocktails is amazing. Not there's a list of cheap drinks "all day every day" and the late night apps aren't restricted to just a handful, it's all apps excluding a handful. We got to try the new loaded potato waves half price! They were actually reeeeaally good. Nice and crispy and flavorful with the bacons and cheese. For my meal I got 3 half priced apps, the fried pickles, buffalo boneless wings, and mozzarella sticks. The fried pickles were soggy which wasn't great but I was ended up taking my them to go and they fried up nicely and tasted great. The mozzarella sticks are great, no to die for cheese pull but they have such great flavor in the breading I always enjoy. The wings came out great, their boneless wings usually come out great. I also got the monthly $6 drink, a watermelon margarita. It was delicious, I would get it again for sure. I also got their $5 mucho hurricane which was okay. Very syrupy. My husband got the mushroom burger and hated how greasy it was, said it made him sick. He also got the other $6 monthly drink, a blue LIT which he liked. He also got a $3 can of truly. We always forget about this place. We were warmly greeted on a Saturday night at the bar by Crystal H. I have a garlic allergy and she and her management went out of their way to make sure that I had a meal with no garlic. I had a steak and green beans and a salad. Everything was fresh and cooked to my preference. I was really impressed that the restaurant management came to me to let me know my options for items with no garlic. Went in to this location for a very late lunch. We started with the onion rings as an appetizer...delicious! I got a burger with fries. I requested that the burger be cooked with no-pink in the center and that request was delivered successfully. The burger itself was good and well-seasoned. My only complaint with the burger was the powerhouse slice of a tomato that was housed within. The fries were disappointing though as they weren't that warm and had no crunch to them, just stale boards of potato. I also decided to get a margarita as I usually like to "judge a restaurant based on their marg." The margarita was big and at a price point of $6 I can't complain! It was a basic and honest to goodness frozen lime marg befitting a warm Virginia day. Also the perfect balance of alcohol, not too strong, not too weak. The staff was friendly and our waitress was good. As for the ambience, it falls off a bit. It's the classic Applebees with bar in center but the tables and seating options are in need of a refresh. Also a hung TV caught my eye and appeared to be a den for moths in desperate need of a good dusting. Overall, this location is good, and I can recommend it! read more

The only reason I give this place one star is the side salads were outstanding. From there, everything went downhill. When I was in the hospital, the one thing that made me want to go home was the food. It was terrible. Applebee's reminded me of the hospital food. We ordered the Mac and Cheese with Chicken Tenders, a 6 oz Sirloin dinner and 8 oz Sirloin dinner. One steak was ordered medium and the other medium well. The were both overcooked. The medium steak was well done and the medium well was a solid brick devoid of any juice. The steaks had no taste and were of very cheap quality like the frozen ones you used to get cheap at Murrays meats. For sides we had broccoli and the garlic mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes looked awful on the plate and my friend took one bite and said she could not eat them. My broccoli was heated frozen broccoli that obviously had been in the freezer for months because you could taste the freezer burn. None of the food was seasoned at all. You CANNOT season a steak after it is cooked -- any cook (except maybe a prison cook) knows you must season meat prior to cooking. We had to ask for salt and pepper but it did little to improve the meal. The mac and cheese with chicken tenders I cannot even give an accurate description of what it was. There was 1/2 inch of grease in the bottom of the dish, very little cheese and lots of bacon pieces and grease. My other friend did not eat half of it. I tasted it and would never, ever serve that to a guest in my house. The place was not busy at all. Now I know why. If you want to try this Applebee's, I would suggest you do it soon. I have a feeling this one will be out of business before years end. Total bill was $57 that did not even compare in quality to a McDonalds meal. read more

If you want to have an example of a restaurant at its worst go here. We usually would have drinks on a friday night but we could tell after sitting down that was not going to happen. We finally got to order our food which came with an app. We went with the chips n artichoke dip. 40 minutes later it came. 1 small piece of artichoke and the watery salsa with chips that must have been made in 1980. We didnt see our waitress and someone else brought the app out. Entree? Yeah another 30 minutes. We didnt even bother getting drinks stayed with water as it was clear we would not be getting more than 1 if that. No pitcher of beer unless we ventured to the bar. Our waitress had vanished. Our food was delivered by possibly the manager. I got the smallest saddest *not 8 ounce* steak that looked like it had been cooked in a oven on 400. Not medium and definitely not rare. We both asked for steak sauce. My broccoli had no butter or anything and was raw. If it had been steamed it was for maybe 30 seconds. I asked for butter. 20 minutes later we had to ask someone else for sauce. Waitress finally popped by and I asked her for butter. I got a container of frozen butter to put on cold broccoli. I can say this was one of the worst meals and service I ever have gotten and I will not ever go to an Applebees again. Not even for trying to figure out what 'riblets' are. The service and food are just awful. For the high prices you are far better off going to O-Charlies or even if desperate Chilis. No, close it down. Or level it its the only choice. read more

It's upsetting that the onion rings are not available as an appetizer anymore. They're the best onion ring anywhere in my opinion. First I'll start with the menu being extremely sticky so bring hand sanitizer with you. The bartender was very friendly and provided great service.m.. my only issue with the bar was they had so many dirty glasses over the bar that weren't tended too at all. They have the late night happy hour and the great day happy hour for Monday through Friday. We order the bbq boneless wings and a side salad as appetizers. They were ok.. the wings were fried too hard and the salad lacked lettuce and the salad that it bad have, had some bad pieces within it as I pictured. I order the 6oz steak, medium well. Had I known this was microwaves steak, they was no point in asking how I wanted it. The steak had the taste of potted meat and the texture of Vienna sausages. I immediately sent it back! I will not pay for dog food!! I then order a cheeseburger and fries. Everything was good until I started seeing pink in the burger I hate a soggy, pink meat burger!! Overall, I will probably not be visiting Applebee's until I want a drink during happy hour. The food and kitchen is trash. Walked in and the hostess couldn't find any menus. Once we where Seated we didn't get a menu until 10-15 minutes later. After that our server was walking around and didn't even get our drink orders. I'm craving a burger from Applebee's . Yes this place has excellent Burgers and Nachos . Also HAPPY HOUR ... I love a place that has Happy Hour. Yes , you read it right HALF PRICE $$$ Guess what , if I order their Nachos (which I love) 1/2 price $$$ the boneless wings 1/2 price $$$ the mozzarella sticks 1/2 price $$$... You get the idea . Our waitress's name was Kaylee . She did an excellent job even though she had to cover several areas due to a shortage of staff. Friendly, efficient and apologetic due to our food taking awhile before it was served to us . That's why I'm giving 3 stars . It just took to long for our food to come out . This was a pretty average eating experience, so there's honestly not much to write about. The location was surprisingly not too busy for a Friday night, and we only had a ten minute wait. The restaurant itself was not too loud or crowded, and the wait for our food was as expected for the time. The food itself was completely mediocre. I got a three cheese pasta minus the chicken , and maybe I'm just not enough of a cheese aficionado but I could identify one, likely Kraft or Velvet, cheese. It was pretty salty, but the sauce was creamy and the pasta was a good texture, so overall I was satisfied. The accompanying breadstick was good as well, albeit small and slightly salty itself. Chicken was a good sized portion and good taste. Pasta didn't have enough sauce to the point that some of the "naked" pasta was sticking together. Worst mistake! My wife nor I felt like cooking tonight, so I suggested Applebees. We both had just gotten home from work and were exhausted. I saw online that they would deliver. So I placed the order paid the delivery fee plus tip. Which totaled about 92.00 and change. They were an order of ribs missing from the order when we received the delivery. I called the store and they told me to get the entree I would have to call door dash to reorder it. I asked for a refund of the entree and they said that wasn't an option and that I could pick it up. The waitress ask what sides did I have with it and I told her fries and broccoli. When I went to pick it up the fries were missing. I didn't even ask about them I just left. Wait staff walked pass us several times and the manager was standing at the kitchen doorway less than 20 feet away from us. When you order carside, rest assure if you order riblets, they touch your food and give you 1 riblet and a quarter riblet but when you are in the restaurant, you get at least 2-3...there is no justification for anyone cutting a riblet into quarters when your money is the same in the restaurant and with carside orders. Seated very quickly but took 15 minutes before our waitress came to take our order even though they weren't busy, after waiting 20 minutes we're told that one of our parties orders (a prime rib dipper) was unavailable, therefore after reordering we didn't receive our food for another 15 minutes. Our waitress was also the bartender (no fault of her own) but very sad that we were not given the same amount of care as other tables. Then waited 25 minutes for our check after asking for it. I love Applebee's!! I'm a big fan of their perfect Margarita and half off appetizers after 9pm on weekdays!! But EVERY time I come to this particular location there has been a problem!! First time my mother in-law found a piece of metal in her French onion soup. The manager was very unfriendly about the whole situation. 2nd time I was with a group of friends and there were bugs in my drink and when we got the to go box there where dead bugs in there too!! But the manager this time was very nice and handled the situation professionally. This Saturday I would have to say was the straw that broke the camel's back. AGAIN there was a bug in my drink..
