I had not been here in more than a year and a half maybe two years. Tonight was a birthday for my dinner companion and he picked this as his choice because he wanted to try the OM burger. I was Pleasantly Surprised that when we got there it was packed but the staff was super efficient and had a party of 8, a party of 6, and our party of 2 seated within 5 minutes. They had a party of 11 get seated while we were there too so trust me they were busy . I was prepared for a wait after we were seated because there was hardly an empty table and the bar section was full. I'll tell you the server came by to take drink orders before I even had a chance to pull up FB on my phone . We ordered since we know the OM burger was why we were there and we had our drinks and our food so fast it was amazing . The server checked on us frequently without hovering or trying to rush us. The location was spotless and the food was hot and fresh . This was a solid 5 star dinner as far as selection, taste, service and price . I guess I need to go more often . Honestly the bill was only $41 including a nice tip and it was on point . read more

Came in and it was busy but our server was Crystal she greeted us with a smile and was right back with us. She made our kids happy and gave us the best service we have ever had in here. Our food was good but Crystal made our dining experience the best. We ask for her every time we dine here. We come on weekends the most. We went for the two for $25....very limited choices but we went with the O-M CHEESEBURGERS...they were awful. They were dry, the cheese was seared to the bottom of the very hot cast iron platter. The only good thing is that the scalding hot platter kept the small portion of fries warm. read more

Probably because we had just completed a grueling hike so we were pretty hungry. The food was pretty good. I didn't care for the "garlic" bread too much. Server was busy so I understood that but a managers job is to make sure the flow is going well. She just walked around and talked to the other employees while the server struggled. Yikes! Figured we would give old Applebees an honest shot. It's been years since we have eaten there and everywhere else just didn't sound great, so off to Applebees we went. We showed up and were very kindly greeted by a young gentleman and lady at the front. The young man even held the doors open for us. As we cruised the menu we were served by Crystal. She didn't know the beer prices which was okay sometimes people forget. After she took our orders she was gone. Our waters sat empty for 20+ minutes while she continually walked by our table and helped others but never asked how we were doing. The grilled cheese burger was not very great and came with about 1/4 cup of soup. The oriental salad was okay and the whiskey burger was maybe a 3/5. Out appetizer of spinach dip was not too bad. That was until we dipped our chip into salsa and found a French fry drowning in the bottom of the cup. Where this fry came from I don't know. Anywho, Crystal finally came back and asked us how we were after we were done with our meals. We finally received our first refill of water as I was paying for the meal. It's been 10+ years since I've been here. Coming back here (not at this location) reminds me of my happy hour days before kids and a mortgage to worry about. It took a city like Grand Mound for us to venture out and go here again. We attempted to use their website to order but it was hard to make sure that our substitution actually took, so I ordered inside the restaurant. They were friendly and was accommodating to the sub of the salad dressing. Kids had salad bowl, crispy chicken salad and we had steak and Tuscan salad and kids Alfredo pasta. I didn't know it came with a side and they even went out to our car while we waited to ask us. I'm surprised that the ordering isn't computerized. She had to hand write everything. With such a big chain, you'd think they would have machines. No biggie - just have to be patient. The order took about 10 minutes. We came back to our hotel and was pleased that our order was correct and we weren't missing anything. The food itself was fine. The crispy chicken was still crispy when we got back. Salads looked fresh. The menu is basic and doesn't have that 'wow - I got to try that' factor. I appreciate that the website has nutritional facts. My kid raved about his salad the next day. Yikes. Typically I adore the chicken wontons, and pay extra to have food delivered. But this time the wontons are drowning in water. Everything tastes boiled. The chicken is usually tender, but this time tastes chewy and tough. The wontons taste like boiled German dumplings. The Asian sweet-sour dressing is watery. The cabbage/carrot salad is limp, like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for two days. Everything is limp, soggy. The lime isn't even fresh! It's almost brown. What happened in the kitchen???? On my food budget, a delivery order is a splurge. I can't risk another bad order. This was a delivery order, so you've got the exact time and date this food was prepared. It was a good experience for us. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Although our food came out after some minutes, it was fine. We did know what to expect from an Applebee's. We ordered a bundle of two main dishes and an appetizer so it was a very good deal. Drinks were good but you have to order it double to feel it has something on it. Ambiance is good for everybody. We've been getting take out during the pandemic probably every 2-3 weeks because they have the a well rounded menu. Typically via door dash. The problem is that our orders have been right maybe 10% of the time. Literally. I'm a patient, simple ordering man but even I have my limits. Come to think of it our orders were not right before the pandemic. Ordering in person and waiting ...too long to the point you just don't care now and just need to shove something in your face. The main issue is always the sides. I believe the garlicky green beans are a myth. Fries? No fries? Double fries? You have better odds with a coin flip or in blackjack. Expect your onion rings to drip and I don't mean well dressed. Wings only come smothered. Sauce on the side? Oh, you mean ranch or blue cheese, right? No. I'm pretty sure the riblets are microwaved and then squirted with sweet baby ray's at the last minute by the chef. The Swedish Chef. I get to pay the check when the restaurant was empty I go to look around and see the 4ft waiter on the floor sleeping with a blanket and pillow snoring . The flavors just don't make sense and the photo made it look like the sauce was only on the tenders but nah, ITS IN THE PASTA TOO!! Like I said weird combo of flavors. You know, I like this place. But today on Valentine's, I called @ exactly 1:31pm (Sunday 2021) to check if they were open for inside eating because it's Snowing so you never know. I called and asked and the guy was UPSET??? "if we weren't, I don't think I would've picked up the phone?" Like, what? Who gave you a fuckin job? Wouldn't be surprised if he's management. It's not often that I visit Applebee's or write them reviews. My experience yesterday was great and I felt compelled to share! Walked in on a Saturday night (4 pm) and it was busy throughout the place. However, snagged a booth in the bar. We were there to watch a hockey game and they immediately put the game on one of the big screens and a smaller tv adjacent to the area. Our server was on point and checked with us frequently on any needs. Ordered the chicken wonton taco as an appetizer. They weren't the prettiest looking but the taste and quality of ingredients was decent. We were pleasantly surprised. I ordered an irresistibowl (southwest chicken) and this was so filling and nutritious. All the greens were fresh and it was absolutely yummy. We had drinks that were also delicious. Bar tenders are efficient and servers were always busy doing something. I thought the atmosphere was cool enough and management is doing something right. We'll be back for another game! read more

When my friend and I first walked in went to the bar to sit down and the waitress Rissa told us that the table were dirty and there was an open table to the left of us. After we sat down she then let two other people behind us sit on the back side of the bar while the tables were still "Dirty". She rudely Id both me and my friend and then rushed us for our drink order. Then when my drink refill was up and ready the manager Michael walked our drinks to us with complete attitude. Dint make eye contact or ask us how we were, looked to the ground and put our drinks on the table he could have spilled them. We were only checked on twice the hole time we were there. My wife and I have eaten here many times we mostly get curbside pretty good most of the time but this last time they gave us uneaten food from someone else my wife's salad was mostly eaten and had salad dressing already put on salad instead of getting new they just added a new dressing a called it good it was gross I had steak, fry's and broccoli but under my broccoli was mashed potatoes like it was scraped off someone else's plate we will never eat there again. The service is five stars for me, but the food... Not so much. I looked up the menu ahead of time and was really excited about this entree the creamy Parmesan chicken. The cheese melted on top was tasty with the chicken but the sauce and rice mixture was awful! I couldn't stand the flavor. And the sauce is in between the chicken and the cheese. The spinach had no seasoning whatsoever - salt, pepper, anyone? I was still hungry so I ordered dessert of the cheesecake apple chiri thing - that was delicious! Vanilla ice cream with caramel topping and a sugar and cinnamon coated tortilla lightly fried with cheesecake in the center. Also their salads were good and generous portions. I'd try something else here - but prefer other places in town over this one - however, they were closed on Mondays so this was really the only option for us. My boyfriend and I dine here on valentine's day. We were seated within fifteen to twenty minutes. The place was busy but I wouldn't say overly crowded. We were given Menus And our drink order was taken. Are drinks arrived within ten minutes point. I ordered a chicken dish am I boyfriend ordered the salmon. Arrived within Twenty five minutes. The waiter wasn't what I call super Friendly In fact I Think he looked a little tired. The food was good. However the portions were what I would call skippy. Also there were mushrooms on this chicken dish. I did not make a fuss over the mushrooms. My fault for not asking what was served with the chicken. Overall I will say that the service was pretty good. For dessert, we shared a chocolate deserts again on the skimpy side. However there was enough to share. I will again like to stress that the service was good. I have been to this location on many occasions since it's opening and the service has been Hit Or miss. Swung into there yesterday for lunch with my husband. It was around 2pm, not a lot of customers at that time. The bartender took quite some time to start our order, but when she finally did it was clear she didn't take it correctly because my husband's order was wrong. We then spent about 30 minutes waiting for our food, which was brought to us by someone else. This gal was clearly annoyed she had to bring us our food, especially after I asked her to return with more napkins. Everything that was brought to us was cold. We ate quickly and let because we had something else to get to. Didn't want to wait any longer to get our food reheated otherwise we would have sent it back. My husband ate little on his plate which was obvious he was displeased, yet the server did not ask if everything was OK. Maybe because she already knew it wasn't. I asked for a medium rare steak and it was cooked all the way through....and cold. Paying for a $65 meal when it was that poorly presented and the serves was underpar took Applebee's right off our list of lunch/dinner places. read more
