Our server was barely paying attention to our table. She didn't give us silverware so we had to ask someone else and she didn't give us any refills until we asked. She was an older black woman who had her hair in a bun and a rose tattoo on her neck. We literally saw her on her phone in the back not paying attention to us or serving us. We were a big group of teenagers so I understand there were a lot of us but she was paying attention to almost every other table but ours. Our overall experience was diminished because of her and we usually get better service here. I don't know the woman's name but she was very slow and paid almost no attention to us. Awful experience. We walked in to pick up an online order and were not greeted for a few minutes. We waited 30 minutes but were then told we couldn't use our gift cards, because there WiFi was not working. The general manager (I assume by the nice shirt) wouldn't offer any other solution nor did he want to listen to anything we had to say as he told us "you have to pay cash there is nothing we can do" as he turned his back to us. My daughter loves Applebees and we come here often. Today we came and the service was excellent. Waitress was attentive and friendly. My wings were good and so were the fries. For some reason my daughters wings were hard so I assume they were over cooked. I don't like being a Karen so I didn't make a big deal about it and just told the waitress that she may want to mention to the kitchen that the wings were over cooked. I had already paid at this point and didn't expect anything taken off of my check or anything. Right before we left the manager came and me a 10.00 card for next time. We are done with this Applebee's restaurant. My wife and I have been repeat customers for a couple of years, when the food and service was very good. But, over the last couple of months the quality and quantity has degraded to the point of ridiculous. We were primarily take-out customers, ordering on line. We began to experience shortages to our orders, i.e. sauces not packaged, drinks not made, food missing/not made, etc. We also noticed food was overcooked/undercooked, soggy or burned. We brought this to the attention of the restaurant via emails and were ignored. The last straw was this evening (Sept. 27th) when we ordered 2 dinners. My wife was missing the baked potato that went with her grilled chicken dinner, and I was missing both the marinara sauce and barbecue sauce ordered for the appetizer platter. Its a shame, because we both used to enjoy this restaurant. Being seniors on a fixed income, the last thing we can afford to do is throw cash out the window. read more

My hotel and this restaurant are both off of Arlington close to I-77 and with the unpredictable weather that is so prevalent in Ohio I decided to stay close and make a short night of it. The restaurant was surprisingly empty around 7:00 PM, on the other hand it was the middle of the week and most of the locals were probably enjoying a home cooked meal by the looks of the other customers scattered around the restaurant. I figured since no customers were waiting when I arrived I'd kindly ask the hostess if I could grab a seat directly across from one of the flat screens, she was fine with it and she let me take the lead and pick my spot. My server greeted me almost immediately after taking my seat then left to grab my drink while I reviewed the menu. I chose the Bourbon Chicken and Shrimp light on the sauce with roasted potatoes. I opted for the smaller portion and it turned out to be a good choice. I don't eat at Applebee's very often anymore but there was a time when I spent a considerable amount of time at one near where I lived in a different decade. The food was well prepared and delivered after only a short time which is exactly what I was looking for. We really like the waitress Ashley. Very attentive and friendly. However, the cooking is not consistent. The first time we ate there, the food took a long time to come out. We were done eating by the time a couple that arrived shortly after we had sat down. Our wonton tacos and salads were very good, but the fries for a burger tasted old and hard. We went again last week (about a few weeks later) and got the same meals. They were out of our appetizer at only 3 pm, and our salads were not as good. They drenched my salad with dressing and the other salad had a stem in it. The fries were tastier, but still tasted old. If a restaurant's fries taste worse than some from a fast food joint, you have a problem. Please be more consistent with cooking. read more

This has to be 1 of the shadiest restaurants I have ever been to. My friend and I sat there for 10 minutes (we counted) as the girl that would turn out to be our waitress walked by us multiple times and then came over and was like "Oh I totally didn't see you guys sitting here" and proceeded to talk crap about the hostess not telling her that she had sat somebody in her section. The service was ass. We had a dance to go to that they knew about and we got stuck there for 45 minutes because they recalled our bill after we paid. The food was mid and the steak was burnt. Oh but it "wasn't an inconvenience," we were just missing our senior homecoming that half of us were on court for. Right. We also watched a group come in after us and leave before us. No one walks into an Applebee's and expects a fine dining experience, ala the Hyde Park Grill, but one should expect more than two menus for a party of six, and utensils and entrees within an hour and fifteen minutes of being seated. Then after waiting the only thing served warm was the breadsticks. What a disaster, the restaurant was below 50 percent capacity and was still unable to turn out a serviceable meal. At least one other party walked out during our marathon, so it wasn't that we were off base. Our server at least filled and refilled the drinks, but the hostess and manager should be sent to Applebee's Re-education Camp. Do yourself a favor and drive a bit further down Arlington for a decent meal. read more

After a previously bad experience at this Applebee's, my fiance and I decided to give it one last shot, only because a district manager had sent me my money back for a previous bad meal. (He sent $30 worth of coupons basically.) Tonight my fiance ordered the 'Cowboy Burger with fries' and I ordered the 'Hot Shot Whisky Chicken'. We also got the spinach-artichoke dip and 2 orders of the brownie bites. He really enjoyed his burger! Perfect amount of toppings, and was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My meal was everything I had hoped for! Juicy chicken, tasty gravy, creamy and flavorful mashed potatoes and it was very filling! The desserts were so rich and tasty and just the perfect, 'bite'! The only thing I'd have to complain about were the appetizer. For almost $8 for the dip and chips, they really don't give you a whole lot of dip. My chips also must have come from the bottom of the chip bag cause there was maybe 6 total whole chips the rest crumbs. I did order carside to go so no comments on staff really. This Applebee's, I have learned, is good for the simple things, burgers, chicken, pasta, etc. You will definitely be seeing us again Applebee's! Thank you for a great dinner! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The manager tonight, Amanda Smith, hung up on me after they told me I was wrong about my order over 5 times. I requested no almonds on my salad due to an allergy, they put almonds on it. In addition, I ordered a red apple sangria and they gave me some orange mango drink. The car side person proceeded to tell me I was wrong and did order the mango drink; yet, I have my receipt showing I didn't. The manager then got on the phone and was extremely rude. She laughed about the allergy and asked me if I could tell the difference between a red and orange drink. Like am I a complete moron that doesn't know that there's red wine in my drink, and absolutely no mango. Long story short, they will not refund you, don't care about killing someone or making someone sick with an allergy and have zero accountability for their mistakes. Applebee's as a company...not so great if you believe in standing up for a womans right to use birth control (although it depends on which franchise you visit). And not so great if you go to the South Arlington location either. I could be wrong, but I took my friends out to lunch on 03/04/14 and I'm pretty sure our waiter was either stoned out of his mind or is just naturally ...foggy(?). I'll refer to him as MH, he was nice but not very attentive. He never offered refills, condiments, or dessert to any of us. Who knows, maybe he was just having a bad day- it happens. But the issue really wasn't MH, it was the poor food quality. I love their pretzels & beer dip & have had it numerous times at other locations. However, this time the cheese/beer sauce didn't look very appealing. It was luke warm at best and had absolutely no flavor or hint of beer at all. I also ordered the cherry limeade; there was more crushed ice in my glass than the drink itself. My friends didn't seem that impressed with their meals either & left half of the sampler behind. And, not to be a cheap a** but $2.39 for one cup of Pepsi- seriously! You can buy a can for .75 cents, sometimes even cheaper. I'd be willing to go back to Applebee's again but definitely not this specific location. read more

I just ate lunch here today while at a conference in Akron. The waitstaff was amazing, the food and ambiance was not so good. My basic complaint with all Applebee's Restaurants is the bright lighting and windows on 3 sides of the restaurant. If I wanted to eat in broad daylight I'd sit on the patio. There is NO privacy in these restaurants... the minute one enters the door he/she can see everyone eating there. Today I had the "new" double crunch wings for lunch. I'm not sure why they are new, but the double crunch must mean that they dipped them in the fryer twice. The wings were dried out and tasted as if they had been microwaved prior to being fried. I ordered the Hot Buffalo sauce but the wings were dry and there was some sort of spice concoction sprinkled on the wings (almost like a dry rub) - is this the double crunch??? I've had much better wings other places for less money. I also ordered fries with no seasoning. These were delivered to me with salt all over them. Oh well... read more

Showed up for late night half price appetizers (the only reason I ever go here) with 8 people and we got in basically right away. Our server was friendly and overall he was pretty good. I did have one complaint with him. He told us that the margaritas were half off. So my wife ordered a pomegranate margarita and he asked her if she wanted the perfect margarita. She said yes because she didn't know what different kinds they had. Well, I guess that one wasn't half off because when we got our check, it was $8 for the margarita. I wish he would have made it clear that it was only a certain kind of margaritas. Food was okay. I got the honey bbq wings. The wings that had a lot of sauce were great, but about half of them were only covered with a minimal amount of sauce. One of the other guys in my group had the same problem. My wife got the wonton tacos and they were great. Overall, this is an average Applebee's. Then again, Applebee's is just average anyways. read more

Last night my family of four went to Applebee's around 5:00pm. They were not busy at all, we were actually surprised to see so few people there on a Friday night. Well it was a horrible experience! I'm very disappointed because we frequently visit several Applebee's, it's our go to restaurant, but unfortunately I believe after this experience we are done. Our waitress was the bartender, she really didn't focus on us because she was focused on making drinks. We had to track her done to get silverware, refills, really anything. We sat at our table for ten minutes before she came to get our drink order. Then we waited ten minutes to get our drinks. Our appetizers took about 20 minutes to come out, unfortunately they came out, then so did our food. Our waitress neglected to tell us about any specials so I had to look them up online. My daughter and I ordered steaks, but I didn't realize until after I ordered you could add shrimp for a $1.00. So I asked if I could add it, she gave me an attitude but added it. Unfortunately the shrimp came out before our appetizers or food, why, I have no idea. The steaks were awful! Ours were both ordered medium, but my daughters came out rare, and mine literally came out frozen. It was a purple color in the middle and so cold and bloody. We sent them back. When they came back mine was now cooked, but so rare and just dripping everywhere. My daughters was tough and over cooked. I sent mine back and just didn't get anything else. My daughter kept hers only because getting our waitress attention was not an easy task, but she didn't eat it. Only one meal was taken off our bill, so we paid $46.00 for two meals and we left hungry and dissatisfied. This location has been going downhill for sometime now, but I believe they've hit rock bottom. I can't imagine them staying in business much longer the way they treat their customers. The manager didn't even stop at our table or seem to care.Customer satisfaction is not a priority to them, actually customers seem to annoy them.
