Came here today for my birthday lunch. Happy 38th! Food was tasty, it usually is, but I was super unimpressed by the experience. Service was quick considering we just had that ice storm last night. Ambiance. Sucked. While waiting for our food, the server started to clear the table across the aisle from us and ended up dropping a partially eaten bowl of french onion soup on the floor. It rocketed up and out of the bowl, and straight onto me. In my hair, on my back, on my arm, on my chest, on my legs, on the table, on the booth seat back. Spent the next 5 minutes in the booth and standing in the aisle while wiping myself off and having my lunch guest wipe off my back. Manager never appeared, so my assumption is that they don't employ a manager at this location. Nothing comped for having nasty half-eaten slimy onion soup splattered on me and my clothing. No apology or acknowledgment from management that a guest was wearing another guest's leftover food because the server dropped it. I've been to this location several times and expected normal subpar Applebee's service, but this time really did it for me. I submitted my order for carside pickup like I've done several times before, made a substitution prompted by the options on the website, and expected my order to be right (as one would) when I picked it up and took it home. When I got home I realized the substitution was incorrect, no big deal, called for a refund because I'm not going to eat my meal if it's not what I wanted, call me picky I guess. I was met with an excuse that the manager is supposed to be updating the website because that shouldn't have technically been an option, but they could refund me the $2.99 for my substitution. My $15 meal though, not so much. Really disappointing that an error that is admittedly the staff's fault, results in me wasting my money! Won't take a chance on an Applebee's again. read more

I have frequented Applebees in Adrian several times through the past several years. At times eating there several times a week for both lunch and dinner. Through the past few years there has been a change in management and wait staff. The one thing that keeps me coming back is the fact I have a couple favorite appetizers. I have lowered my expectations of service to just a self serve. Several times I have better luck getting my own refills at the bar. When food is slow or comes out wrong the wait staff or manager (if you see the manager) has an excuse, short staffed, just cut staff and then we got busy. I feel that their poor planning should not ruin my experience. Their food is very inconsistent especially their steak. **UPDATE** I submitted the above review yesterday. I was contacted today by the GM Michael P. in regards to the above review. I think it's awesome that he reached out and was genuinely wanting to hear the issues and wants to improve service at his restaurant. It's one thing to see these reviews but it's another to try to reach out and dig deep on what's going on and I feel he went above and beyond. Thanks Mike for reaching out. Food's decent if you expect your food to be served leuk warm and taste like fast food at a sit down restaurant. Wait times are horrible regardless of occupancy due to poor staffing. Make sure you're upfront when you walk in, otherwise "entitled old people of Adrian" will cut you off right in front of the hostess and staff will just push you back in line. The drinks are good, even though they may not bring you out the drink you ordered. ‍ Overall... I do not recommend this restaurant in Adrian, Mi. There are definitely many other better restaurants in this town. The staff was "kind" but clearly the management is strongly failing in not upholding any kind of standard here. read more

We've always loved Adrian's Applebee's. But today, something awesome happened. My nephew is 4 years old and Autistic. He has to have his tablet in public places to keep him preoccupied from all of the distractions around him. We were seated at a corner booth and he accidentally dropped his tablet between the booth and the wall. Scott, our AWESOME server, was trying to help us get the tablet for at least 15 minutes to no avail. We left whilst leaving our name and number so if they could get it out. We were made no promises because the booths were bolted into the ground. We get halfway home and the manager, John, called us and told us he did everything he could and got it out for us. Me and my wife who are newly weds came to this place as a little date night and our server was ver slow at taking our order and it took them forever to get our alcoholic beverages. I got the aloha mana margarita and I can tell they over poured on the alcohol as it was very strong and it felt like I was taking one big shot of whatever liquor is in it. I wish I could give this Applebees 10 star's!! While attending Siena Heights University, this was kind of the "hang-out spot", especially after receiving your work-study paycheck-lol. This location is getting 2 stars ONLY because our server David was great. My husband and I just left after finishing our meal. Both of us had ordered a Parmesian n Shimp Sirlions. Mine was ordered Medium RARE, and his was ordered MEDIUM. What was brought out was 2 WEll done steaks. When asked how our food was, I told and SHOWED the waiter that the steaks were well done. He agreed, and offered to have them redone. I told him I DO NOT SEND FOOD BACK very politely. (Having worked in the restaurant industry for 19 years, I know better) He sent the manager up to check on us. When she asked about our meals, I again told and SHOWED her that the steaks were way over done. Again, she offered to have them recooked and I said no (again telling her I NEVER send back food). She offered a discount or some coupons. Our bill was $50.18 for 2 way overcooked steak dinners and 2 bowls of soup and a coffee and ice tea. What the manager gave me was 2 $5.00 off your next visit coupons (which can only be redeemed 1 per visit). This was like a slap in the face. I now know that WE the customer ARE NOT valued by Applebees. And i absolutely will NEVER be patronizing them again. This was the equivalent of saying "You are not worth our time to get your order right the first time. And you are not worth our worrying about getting a chance to get it right the 2nd time. Because after this insult, I will not give them a 2nd chance to charge me $50.18 to insult me a second time. read more

I have to admit that I am hard pressed to give this place more then 3 stars because it is a huge chain that everyone knows about. I will say that on MOST nights the service here is pretty good and on Sunday - Thursday after 8:30pm the half off appetizers and drink specials are a big draw for the two colleges and locals alike.
