She had received a gift card, which we wanted to use, and it had been a rough day, with [brief description of the rough day]. But I will get to that in a minute. If you're expecting a typical martini bar and tapas place, you might want to reconsider. This place is all about its unique charm, and the 'regulars' wouldn't have it any other way. There's a distinct 'locals vibe' here, and in the summer, you might even spot a few Harleys parked outside. It's not about meeting your expectations, it's about creating a sense of community. And it was fun! Sometimes, there is live music; on other nights, there is a DJ; and on Thursdays, it is Karaoke night. And tonight being Thursday, the Karaoke performances were enthusiastic if not... Well, they were enthusiastic!! *smile* Mae (May?) was a kind and friendly server who did everything possible to make our visit a good experience. The food is good, "bar-style," and the drink options are plentiful. We met Steve (owner? or manager?). He is a very nice guy. He answered a few questions for us and made us feel welcome. In the future, he might work the place over into a steakhouse type of restaurant and Adrian REALLY could use one of these downtown. But the star of the show is Kujo! The bar dog. Now wait, a dog in a bar...yes, Kujo is a certified service/therapy dog. By law, he goes anywhere his human takes him. SUPER friendly and remarkably gentle, I would return to this place just to visit the dog! But I will try a burger next time.

Banging, yelling, and an open doorway into the kitchen. Off-putting, especially with better seating clearly open. The food keeps the rating up. I did not expect a wings place, but the smoked wings were my favorite, right amount of crispy with good smoke. The sauce list is long and I couldn't pick a favorite. The ranch tasted house-made and it was amazing. The chikin soho was the other standout. Honey ginger glaze, chili dijon slaw, and pickles that all work together. I just returned from the Adrian, Michigan Applebee's restaurant. My wife and I ordered from their 2 for $20.00 menu. The waitress stated that there was an item on the 2 for $20.00 menu that I did not see, I informed her that it was not on the menu . She assured me that it was, so my wife took the alternative item. The meal was good and came in a rapid time. I enjoyed that greatly as in the past it seems that I have had to wait a very long time. When it was time to receive and pay the bill, I noticed that a 2 for $20.00 dollar menu cost $22.50. I asked why, I was told that we ordered one item from the 2 for $25.00 menu. I asked to speak to the manager as I did not order as was told. I was told that the manager would be out to see me. We waited a few minutes and the waitress returned and stated that the manager reduced the cost the disputed $2.50. First, let me say that it was not only the amount of the meal that was in dispute. The fact that I asked to see the manager and He/ She did not think her time was worth visiting a customer in her place of business. Needless to say, the treatment that I received was far below the treatment anyone should have while in a restaurant. I have one problem now, How do I use the gift cards that I have when I don't feel comfortable entering the Applebee's in MY neighborhood? read more

The reason why this applebees stands out is the staff. Dan the bartender and John the waiter go beyond expectations. This is our go to place. My server was very sweet and young, but clearly inexperienced. I ordered a drink before ordering my entree' but the drink came after my entree'. Her response was that the bartender was new and stressed out. Okay.., The food was just okay. I ordered a chicken sandwich with guacamole and bruschetta on top. I mentioned to my server that the chicken was very dry and difficult to cut. I also mentioned that the swiss cheese was barely detectable. She apologized but didn't offer management intervention. By the end, I didn't want to struggle any longer in trying to cut the overcooked and dry chicken. When I asked for the check, I pointed out nicely that my dissatisfaction with parts of the meal should have been brought to the manager's attention. Rather than raise a conflict over the bill, I paid it but don't ever plan to return. I overheard someone at a booth across from mine also expressing dissatisfaction with what he'd ordered, though not sure if he was complaining within his circle or whether he actually told the server- not that it would have mattered.
