I took my vehicle into the dealership for a recall issue. At first it was a very nice experience came back a couple of days later to pick up my vehicle and luckily, I had another vehicle because they couldn't find a loaner for me to use. When I went to pick up my Vehicle I was told all work was completed and I was good to go. I drove home that night with no Problem. I live about 40 miles one way from my job. This is important. Because the next day which was a Friday I went to work at my normal time without issue but when I got back into Winchester where I live that evening... My vehicle started making a loud noise and cut off in the middle of traffic which could have been an accident but luckily there was no accident. When I called the dealership back again the interaction was very pleasant they asked me to have the vehicle towed into the dealership and if I remember correctly they paid for the tow. Now this is where it gets bad. upon them looking into my car they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. I was then asked to pay to have the motor broken down to see where the issue was coming from and I would be reimbursed from the warranty company... I did so as I stated before I had no issues before now. Again there was no loner car for me to borrow and the following day I was asked to bring in receipts of all oil changes I have had done to the car since I had it. I am a creature of habit so I go to the same places most of the time for my maintenance so it wasnt that hard to find the informaition needed. But there was a gap in the middle of the time that i had my car... Meaning these arent exact numbers but i had receipts from 40k mile to 85k mile then there was a gap i then had receipts from 92k to 107k miles. In reality i think it was a 4k gap honestly but just for the sake of this review these are the numbers I had and again THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE CAR IT ONLY WENT IN FOR A RECALL ISSUE. jUST TO EMPHASIZE. I was later then told the car didn't have oil in it and i could have the engine replaced and what I would need to pay to have that done. Now remember they took the motor apart to fix the recall issue and put it back together... but apparently didnt put oil in it when i got it back so i then the next day drove almost 100 miles for the engine to seize on me for there being no oil in the engine... and thats where the left it... told me i can come and pick up my vehicle and i only had so may days before i would be charged a storage fee for it being left there... We have moved to the area from Houston. I called ahead to make a service appointment for an oil change, service troubleshooting and state inspection. I provided my VIN number and was identified by the dealership. The supposedly set me up for an appointment and I provided information on address etc. Three weeks late I showed up at my appointed time and there was no record on anything. No appointment, no account set up. The dealership did manage to take my car for an oil change but anything else I would have to make an new appointment which is another 3 weeks out. The staff was friendly and professional however very disorganized. The dealership facility is outdated and looks like someone's back yard work from the back of your house. I test drove a Palisade as we are looking at adding a larger car, either Kia Telluride or Hyundai. I feel waiting 3 weeks for any dealership appointment is unacceptable after making an appointment which was dropped by the dealer. I received a banal platitude canned response back as follows: Regarding your recent feedback to Apple Valley Hyundai on Hyundai Customer Feedback, Shamika Page has replied: Thank you for your feedback, Steven. We are sorry to hear that your recent service visit didn't go as well as we would have hoped. We will look into what caused your information to not appear in our system. The wait time for an appointment is something we are currently working on trying to improve for everyone. We do hope you will give us another chance to get things correct for you in the future. Thanks again for bringing these things to our attention. This dealership DID not try to resolve their mistakes and Shamika is pretty naive to expect me to give them another chance. I would have expected a call from the service manager with an appointment time and questions on what was not resolved in the least. I will never hear back from Shamika with any results of why they dropped the ball,my guess is this place is under staffed and under capitalized. Bought a New Santa Fe here and dealing with several issues with getting the vehicle to be very disappointed with the entire process. This dealership DOES NOT CARE at all about what the customers wants or needs. They only care about the score you give them when Hyundai notifies you to evaluate your purchase. I had a part fall off the car after having the suv for about a week went back to get it replaced and was told it was not a Warranty Issue and they wasn't doing nothing to correct this problem. Then was more or less yelled at by the general manager for giving him a "3" on the survey. Service dept Mgr is just as bad. This dealership is a disgrace to Hyundai as this is a car maker that has worked very hard to build a reputation for providing a quality car. read more

I am here In Winchester visiting my mother, who 6 months ago bought a brand new Hyundai Sonata at this dealership. During her 6 months of ownership, not one, but two tires have had issues (both of which were not her fault) - one occurring during this week during my visit. Both times she has gotten the runaround -both times she was refused service because they "didn't carry that tire in stock" - which is confusing because it is a brand NEW car...purchased at this HYUNDAI dealership. My favorite is that the service manager told my mom "you need to stop driving over railroad tracks" - like it is possible to drive in Winchester, Virginia without going over railroad tracks...all while treating her like an idiot for doing so. ridiculous. She left the dealership in tears by the way she was "talked down to" and "treated" by the service manager. Since I was visiting, I decided to get up early (the morning I was scheduled to fly back home that afternoon) and see if I could find a solution with the staff as there was no way she could take me back to Dulles airport on a spare tire. Immediately at 8am I was hit with hostility and anger. The service manager looked at me and said "you're here early, I guess you have an emergency, what you want?" When I gave my mothers name, the service guy said "she gave me a "1" for service last week - I didn't deserve it" and immediately got even more pissed off with me. I explained to him that I was from out of town and was trying to resolve this situation for my mother. I asked about the tire...he told me there was nothing he could do, he didn't have that tire... I asked (frankly more nice than I should have), "can you not give her a tire from one of the new cars sitting up on the lot?" He slammed down his clip board and said "come here!" Gesturing with his finger for me to step outside. I thought he was taking me outside to show the car or talk about the tires. Once outside and outside of ear shot from other customers behind me he proceeded to yell at me like it was my fault that this was all happening. When I explained to him the situation admittedly very slowly (because clearly he was not too smart and didn't understand or choose to listen the first time), he threw his hands up and said "fine!" and asked for the keys. Grabbing them from my hand, He went back in and slammed the door. I stood there in disbelief. I walked in a minute later and he told me he got a tire from a nearby shop down the street...that they had it "in stock" and would install it. While he was telling me this, I could hear guys in the back room yelling comments about me...he clearly had shared with them his anger which was completely unprofessional. I let it slide since the alternate tire had been found and I asked for the address of the tire place and headed over. When I arrived, they explained they didn't have the tire. And what's more, they said that they had told they service department on the phone that they didn't. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was. Not to be deterred, I called the General Manager of Hyundai and told him my story...along the way, told him I wasn't trying to be a jerk (it just isn't my style)...but as a manger of people myself, I would want to know if my people yelled at our customers. He was nice and listened. He offered my mother a rental car to take me to the airport that day (which was very nice) and agreed to take care of the tire "at no cost". When my mom returned later that afternoon to pick up her car/ tire she was asked for payment. Not wanting to cause a scene, she gave them a check, but called me when I landed to let me know she paid. I was disappointed that again my mom was paying for a new tire for the new car she had just purchased a 6 months prior. I assured her that the manager who i was genuinely impressed by (I thought) "would not cash the check" and that maybe the service department didn't know the situation. Sure enough, the check was cashed 5-weeks later! I couldn't believe it. I think this service department preys on older people and more specifically women. I know that is a strong statement, but I don't say that lightly. They are rude, have poor attitudes, and are aggressive for no reason. Management is clearly aware of the situation, but unable to resolve it for whatever reason. I would never ever want someone to have the experience that we had. I hope that the staff gets the customer service training they need...and the service manager learns how to appropriately serve his customers. read more

I've been without a car for a month. Engine recall. Spent thousands of dollars before the recall only to find that I would have to rent a car at my expense but Hyundai America would reimburse. With rent, car payment, college tuition, insurance and holding 2 part time jobs it's very difficult to get to around without transportation. Finally had to involve an attorney and they finally called promising a loaner a week ago. Guess what - didn't happen. Hyundai America left a message for me last week saying that my new engine was in possession of AVH but not a word from APH. Very poor business - obviously not concerned about repeat business and customer service. And guess who's on vacation this week? Yep the guy handling the whole thing. read more

I was tired of all the typical car dealership bull**** that most of the more local Hyundai dealerships were feeding me. Apple Valley Hyundai was a breath of fresh air. They were upfront, didn't try to cheat me out of money, and gave me a fair price for my new car. I worked with Salesman Steven Trevor, specifically. He is really easy to with. I originally went to Massey Hyundai in Maryland because of and online price that had for the car I purchased. They were so horribly unprofessional and must have thought I didn't know much about cars being a female. I called Apple Valley Hyundai because I live five minutes away from that location and they seemed much more willing to help me. Once I got there the general manager honored everything he said and Frank, the salesman, was absolutely wonderful as well. If I would have know the customer service would have been like that, I would have never have driven an hour away for a price that wasn't going to be honored. The other day I was returning a leased Elantra that I had obtained from another dealership because I had moved in the interim between the start of the lease and it's conclusion. Andy, the gentlemen I had the good fortune to deal with, was super nice, professional and made the whole process painless. I had brought along a lot of documentation which I thought I'd need which proved to be totally unnecessary in that Andy was able to complete the process without paperwork. just started driving home from Delaware when my clutch on my Hyuandai Genesis stuck to the floor. Luckily for me, my brother was following me. So here I am with a breakdown in DE with a a fairly serious issue and I have to make a split second decision on where I can tow my car to. Well, I decided to have it towed to Apple Valley Hyundai. This was Sept 5th, the Saturday before Labor Day which was the 7th. I called first thing on the 8th to let them know that I was the guy who had the Genesis towed to their lot. I was informed that they didn't have any opening until OCTOBER, but that they left a few open spots a day for emergencies such as mind and that some should be able to look at it in a couple days. That was a Tuesday the 8th. I called that Friday 11th to be told that no one was able to look at it and that it should be looked at on Monday. Well, I called Monday the 14th to find out that no one was able to look at it and now that WEDNESDAY for sure would be the day. Called Wednesday, no one looked at it. I had to keep reminding myself that this was a dealership and THIS is the type of service they provide?! So now the magical day was Friday the 18th! I told the girl on the phone, "if you can't look at my car on Friday, I am going to call a tow truck company and have my car towed from your lot to a garage where they care about their customers. "I understand Sir, yes sir blah blah blah". Friday morning , 10 business days after receiving my car, my caller ID says Huyandai. The woman says "Well, we can't look at it, but we are bringing in an extra technician on MONDAY., but we understand if you want to have your car towed from here!!! "Bring in another technician?! Why didn't you bring one in 10 business days ago? THEY REALLY DIDN"T CARE ABOUT THE FACT I TOWED MY VEHICLE FROM THEIR SERVICE AREA". I keep pinching myself about this to make sure I'm awake. Here I am, towing my vehicle from DE, to a Hyandai dealership, have excuse after excuse thrown at me, and willingly let me take my car to another garage for it to be fixed!! Bought a used car from them on 7/13/20 on 7/25/20 my car suddenly had the check engine light, check brake system light, abs light, traction control light and the power steering light all come on at once. After 12 days I didn't understand why this would happen. Today I was told it was a sensor in my front wheel needed to be replaced and $200 dollars would come out of my pocket for it. Thankfully I paid for the electronics warranty. After speaking to the store manager about why I would have to pay for anything after it being only 12 days (I haven't even made a car payment yet) he said he sells used cars all the time things go wrong and he never covers anyone. So I think it's slightly weird Miller Auto as a whole moto is "we take care of our customers" yet I feel like I'm being thrown under the rug. Paying the company almost $15000 for a vehicle and they can't cover $200 after only 12 days. Never again will I be using Miller or recommending anyone to them. read more

In 2011 I purchased a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 2.0t brand New from this dealership. Doing so I had to trade in my dream car that I always wanted but I had to have a new vehicle. I spoke to a man named bob who went with me on a test drive and the car was fine. At 80k of the 100k mile warranty the car started to make a smoke cloud that I can only assume is burning oil. I take it to Hyundai 3 times and one time Hyundai of America said they will have a level two tech look at my problem. Well the level two tech is the same guy that couldn't find the problem the two previous visits. Now I am no car mechanic but I can look under the hood and see that oil is spraying all over the inside but from ware? So if I can see this with no mechanical training why can't a "Hyundai ASC certified mechanic" who is a level two tech not find the problem. I can only assume that they didn't work on it or are not educated enough to find the problem.. Now I would stop there but it gets better. My fist inquiry to the service department was about a weird vibration I felt when going in reverse while in he car. I called up the service department spoke to the "head service manager" who was rude and unpleasant to deal with in regards to my concerns. He said it wasn't covered under the warranty. I informed him that he hasn't seen the car or the problem yet. How would he know with out looking. At that point he got rude raised his voice and told me to bring it in and hung up on me. Soooo I called back and asked hay Scott did I say something wrong did I get you up set by inquiring what my warranty covers. He then stated that he didn't like it when customers call up talking this "warranty shit" well sir I don't think the the service department is the place for you. With that being said I can only assume grudges were held and that's why my car still smokes as I drive it to this day. The sales people are great the service manager not so much. I had referred three people to buy cars here and I wished I hadn't. Side note my brother took my advice got the same car as me. His don't smoke but according to the service tech god in the department "there is nothing wrong with your car and we can't find a problem" I don't care if you gave me a boat full of cars from that lot I'd burn em all.
