MY EXPERIENCE WITH PROBUILT WAS TERRIFIC and left us with a really nice, and fairly-priced bathroom. I live in a small home, and despite having upgrades performed over the years - our original hardware and tub/shower were beginning to leak. We paid ProBuilt to give us an overhaul. And because we were hunting for a long-term solution, we refused to cut corners. We chose the Onyx product for our shower since it's got a lifetime guarantee. Complete installation took four days. Troy and his partner replaced the entire tub and shower (backer-board, wall tile, hardware), tiled my floor, replaced some plumbing, hardware and added floating sink. We also needed replaced and retextured two walls. I was here for the entire install, and was pleased with what I saw at the end of each day. Troy is a down-to-earth guy who shared his honest opinions about where our money would deliver the best value, and I'm sure the job was done right. I would never use him again or recommend Miguel to do work for anyone else…read more He was hired to convert my small bathroom tub shower to a step-in shower, put down new tile on the floor and paint. He botched the entire job, then blamed it on his helper, even though Miguel was working right alongside his worker throughout the majority of the job daily. When he proclaimed the job complete I asked him if he was proud of the work he had done and would he use photos of my job on Yelp as an example of his work. He said "no" to both. I have to have every bit of his work torn out and redone. He tried to use plain blue backer dry wall in the shower, wanted to drywall over insulation that had black mold saying it was black paint, and repeatedly said he was going to make my bathroom "beautiful". As you'll see from the accompanying photos, it is anything but. The shower floor tile is completely crooked, as is the wall tile. The floor drain isn't flush with the tile, so won't drain properly. The glass shower door was installed crooked, the caulking and finish trim look like it was done by a 12 year old. When I pointed these things out he kept repeating that my walls weren't square and floor wasn't level. A professional contractor knows to put leveler on floors and walls to ensure level surfaces before laying the first tile. Add to that the fact he spray painted plastic trim on the new asphalt in front of my townhouse, leaving black paint that I have to pay to have resealed, as ours is a private street that the residents had to pay to have repaved only last year. Miguel knew this because I had told him. He seemed stressed out and rushed from the start. Since I was working from home during the whole job, I could see his exasperation and hear him yelling at his helper. I feel completely ripped off and hope no one else has to have this experience, hence the lengthy review. I gave Miguel the opportunity to refund what I had paid him but never got a response. This bathroom was a dream project for me, and hiring Brothers 59 Construction turned what should…read morehave been an exciting renovation into one of the most stressful home improvement experiences I've ever had. We paid $6,300 for a bathroom remodel that included vanity installation, plumbing and electrical modifications, drywall work, wallpaper installation, and finish work. What we received was defective workmanship, property damage, months of delays, and thousands of dollars in additional costs to correct the work. The wallpaper installation failed and damaged approximately $2,200 worth of wallpaper. The wallpaper removal and installation process also caused damage to the walls and baseboards. We were told the issue would be corrected, but instead we spent approximately two months waiting while our bathroom sat in an unfinished and unsightly condition. We later learned that the vanity had been installed improperly and had to hire another contractor to inspect and correct the installation. Had we not sought a second opinion, we could have been facing even more costly repairs or replacement. The most frustrating part was the lack of accountability and resolution. Despite requesting an itemized breakdown of costs during the project and throughout the dispute, none was provided. We did not receive an itemized allocation of the $6,300 project price until after legal counsel became involved. At this point, we have received estimates of approximately $3,950 just to remove and reinstall improperly completed work, remove failed wallpaper, prepare the walls, and reinstall wallpaper correctly. That does not include the value of the damaged wallpaper itself or the time, stress, and inconvenience caused by months of dealing with these issues. Some portions of the work may remain in place, but much of what we paid for must be repaired, corrected, or completely redone by other professionals. We hired Brothers 59 Construction expecting quality workmanship and a finished bathroom we could enjoy. Instead, we were left with damaged materials, defective work, prolonged delays, additional expenses, and a project that still requires significant correction. Save yourself the heartache, time and money and choose a contractor who actually delivers on their promise, doesn't gouge you and delivers a professional product.

Hired this guy to build front and back stairs and replace a rear door on our home. The wood used in…read morethe stairs was not treated and some of the wood used had pieces missing and gouged out. One stair on each set of stairs were pieced together as well as the hand rail in the front set of stairs. He bought the wrong door for the back and bought a new one which did not fit either. He cut the bottom of the floor and put screws in it leaving the metal exposed. The threshold was crooked and he tried to build a frame around the door instead of getting a pre hung door and frame. There were 1" gaps on both sides and the door was missing a hinge. Whe I told him about my concerns, his reply was "I knew you would be a problem". I had to buy weather strip to close the gaps and now have to buy a pre hung door and replace the wood on the stairs and line it up correctly. We paid him $2,230 dollars and now we have to repair all this stuff. DO NOT hire this guys unless you want to repair all the mistakes made. I can't upload the photos but if I did you would see this crappy work that was done.
