    updating my iPad® Mini™2 =D

    I needed to update the iOS on an older iPad® Mini, which requires to be plugged into iTunes® to be updated. I was sans mu laptop so the only way I could think to do it was to visit the local Apple® Store. I arrived just before lunch on a Sat and the place was absolutely packed with customers. Kudos to the mgmt for having plenty of staff on hand to deal with the throng. After working my way inside I was greeted by an employee who asked how he could help me. I then stated my problem and he said it might be a 20-25min wait to get a technician. I agreed and sat back to people watch. Within two minutes Austin approached me and after a quick explanation and a few button pushes on the iPad and away he went to grab a laptop. Soon the iOS was updating and within 15min I was on my way out the door with an updated device. Customer service was outstanding and they deserve some praise against all the negative reviews at this location. Kudos!

    Very poor customer service. I brought my 3-month-old Midnight M3 MacBook Air in because I noticed the bottom of the computer was losing its finish, possibly due to a defect in the anodizing process. The rest of the computer looks pristine, and I've babied it since new. When I got to the store, which was an hour's drive away, the Genius Bar employee immediately dismissed my concern, stating they wouldn't cover it under warranty since it's cosmetic. After requesting to speak with a manager, Alaina came and stated the same thing, and said they could send it out for repair but there would be a charge because it's not a defect. I've used MacBooks for 15 years and never experienced this type of issue, or such poor customer service from Apple and am extremely disappointed. The computer is literally only three months old and is only losing its finish on the bottom piece which signals an obvious defect. I do not recommend this store for your service needs. I will be filing a complaint with Apple as it's unacceptable for a $1,500 computer to be experiencing this issue at only three months old.

It wasn't the end of the world since we're meticulous about backing up our data. Nonetheless, I needed to have the hard drive replaced. I was going to take it to the Apple Store, but the reviews I read about their charges encouraged me to find another option. Unfortunately, in the Lancaster, PA area there aren't a whole lot of options for Mac computer repairs. Then, I remembered that one of my sons took his iMac to have a hard drive replaced at Pham Computers and was entirely satisfied. So, I contacted them and they said yes they would replace the hard drive in my MacBook even though they're primarily a PC shop. So, I stopped by on Wednesday to drop of the laptop and spoke to Zach who was very helpful. Much to my pleasant surprise, I was contacted later that day and they told me that the drive was replaced and as (gratis) bonus they would image the data on my old hard drive and copy it to the new drive potentially saving me some time in doing a TimeMachine restore. I received a call the following day to say they were successful in saving all of my data and that the computer was ready for pick up -- WOW, A 24 HR. TURNAROUND!! My wife went there to pay later that day and was astonished at how inexpensive the repair was. I was too. What a great tip to take it there. Thanks Pham Computers!

I keep reading and rereading all the glowing reviews of his work ethic, kindness and efficiency and am STILL wondering even as I write this review WHY I was not treated with the same respect and dignity bestowed on other customers. During these 74 days I received no update on the progress of the repairs. A physical trip to the shop found an "intern" sleeping at the desk when I arrived. His response when I asked for my equipment was that he had no idea where Ron keeps anything. A phone call revealed that Ron had ordered a part so the laptop was not ready he would call when the work was complete. Rather than go into all the sordid details, let me just say there were numerous phone calls, text messages and emails trying to retrieve my property. I asked for an appointment which also fell on deaf ears. About two weeks ago I called the office and he actually answered. Ron was totally oblivious to his behavior over these weeks and acted as if he was the magnanimous business owner who would bring the laptop to me. That evening as I waited patiently 30 minutes past the appointed time, no RON. Much later I received a text telling me had car problems, he would call to reschedule. Aweek later no communication. Today I went to the office fully prepared to call the Lancaster City Police if my property was not released. I now have the laptop. No explanations, no apologies. In closing, the very few negative reviews of Lancaster Computer Company I dissected revealed to me that Ron always blames the customer instead of taking responsibility and plays the game of how attentive, hardworking, honest and innocent he is in each instance. I feel certain he will use the same tactics here on my story. I am a 70 year old Senior and veteran who gives people the benefit of the doubt, so I will let you make your own judgements. 74 days for a minor repair. Marlene H.

    Compucare Technical Services has astounded me with their lack of professionalism. Amidst lies in…read moretheir reply to my Google review (proven via the text and call logs attached) they have accused me of being "angry" because they couldn't get to my PC fast enough. The only reason I was "angry" is because he spoke to me like I was an idiot, claimed he did nothing wrong, claimed 60 degrees celsius was normal, and generally avoided accountability. He has also failed to communicate properly, saying he'd get back to me and never texting back, then becoming passive aggressive when I checked in. Additionally, he searched for my new CPU on Amazon, rather than using Newegg or any other dedicated parts search, and ordered a CPU that would be completely incompatible with my system AND the motherboard he had ordered. If I hadn't caught the incompatibility, I might still be without my PC. Again, I had no issue with the fact that a mistake occurred. In fact I would have been gracious had accountability been taken. It was his communication over the phone on Sunday that led me to take matters into my own hands. No matter who discovered the issue, Compucare Technical Services was blatantly unprofessional and frankly frustrating to deal with on multiple occasions. Additionally, he tried to offer me $100 cash when I said I would be changing my review this morning. And the agreement referenced in his reply states that I must allow them opportunity to rectify the issue before issuing a *credit card chargeback,* which has not happened. CTS has yet again contacted me, despite me specifically asking him not to, and continued to berate me as a result of my review of my bad experience.
