I was given a $30 gift card for Christmas, which is enough for a basic manicure plus the tip. The location is well staffed and uses single use tools for cleanliness . The young lady behind the desk whose name I did not get , did an amazing service- while manicure is simple, I appreciate that she took her time. The atmosphere was calm and quiet. 10/10 manicure.

The person who did my SNS manicure left gaps where you can see my nail. They also charged me an extra $5 without telling me due to my nails being long, which I never heard of before nor experienced at this establishment. Lastly, they said I had no points on my reward card even though I've been using it for the past few months. Will not be coming back or be referring this place.

    What I asked for

This is what I asked for and this is what I got. The nail tech did an amazing job. These are soft gel nails and they always look beautiful for three weeks. Thank you so much for my birthday nails

Manicures by Kathy are the best. I opt for acrylic over my own nails because I work with my hands and they can get rough looking. Kathy always leaves my hands looking great and me feeling superb.

This is what the tech did to my chin with the hot wax

I walked in yesterday evening to get a lip and chin wax Right before my trip to Florida

I've gone there a couple of times for SNS dip manicure, and my experiences have been different each time. Mari was good, as was Rosie. One time I went and the owner did my nails. She was rushed and frazzled and it wasn't relaxing at all. Yesterday, Melody did the SNS. My nails looked ok when she finished, but once I left and took a good look at them, she did an awful job. Besides being too thick, there is dip residue under my nail edges (didn't take the time to clean it off) and stuck to my fingertips. Also dried dip powder around my cuticles. Totally sloppy job for $55. I don't plan to go back any more. Time to move on.

So I recently moved to the UWS and I've been looking for a salon in walkable distance that didn't make my wallet bleed. I tried this place out and I got a stunning dip powder gel manicure-- but nothing comes without a struggle. My first tech did a good job, but I guess the brush at the end made my nails bumpy and rough to the touch. I didn't notice because I was not touching my still-drying nails, but the owner comes over and exclaims that she had to fix them for me. I really appreciated the attention to detail, but I will say I was disappointed that the first technician was going to send me out of salon with rough nails. After 2 hours, I finally left the salon. It was a long process, but the results were good and I will be coming back! In total for powder removal and powder manicure it was $48 with tax (tip not included)

    Polish coming off

This place is beautiful and the staff is friendly! I've been several time and the experience is always lovely and relaxing but the products they use are the worst!!! It's really disappointing-- they use the lowest quality shellac so after about a week it peels off. It's not the hard long lasting shellac-- it's rubbery and peels at the edges. I went in on Wednesday to get a regular mani and pedi. They told me the only bubble bath they had was in the "long lasting" polish and would cost two dollars more. It's Saturday and 4 of my 10 nails look awful. The polish is falling off!!!! I got a pedi too and they look good. $48 (not including tip) is way too expensive for for a regular mani pedi that doesn't even last a week. This place is brand new so I hope they tighten up so I can go back.

If I could give them no stars I would this place is overprice they charged me $ 73 dlrs for cut down and clear polish they did not file my nails nice all uneven, horrible and to expensive not even a fill would not recommend this this nail salon at all

    20 min massage, mani, pedi!

Had a great experience here! You can add the tip to the card too! I got a package: mani, pedi and a 20 min massage. I loved every second! The pedicure water is contained in a plastic bag so no germs from previous customers. The manicure includes paraffin in gloves and again very clean. Everything is sterilized so no germs cross over. Tina is amazing! And the overall experience was wonderful!

Their paint job. They did not clean around and I repainted myself the next morning.

Just another ordinary nail spot with typical service and work quality -- the kind you expect nothing from really other than to walk out with semi decent paint job.. like it's a spot where you drop off your money to fund their business and that is the objective of this typical type of nail shop I speak off. I'm giving 1 star only because the lady did a pretty decent job on my calluses, by some miracle because she really didn't do much. But... Even my paint job was ridiculous. I repainted my nails myself the very following morning with the same color and did a much better job. They did not clean around my nails for excess polish so yah... take a look at my 2 photos. The polish was a sheer color and she did 2 coats, leaving them streaky. I didn't bother to ask for another coat because I was already done with the place. I also redid my toes since I was at it because they were streaky and I could not understand why because my bottle of the same polish does NOT come out streaky at all (and this was at 3 coats). They'll start to chit-chat in the middle of your foot massage and then go into the typical punching of your leg and foot with a closed fist when they're no longer able to concentrate on the work at hand. Something about that has always intrigued me -- there's some sort of correlation between the punching and lack of concentration. Everything is very typical - from rushing you with you to select your color, suggesting colors ("This one is pretty!" - please don't insult people like that), to filling your foot tub with water as soon as you announce you want a pedicure -- and leaving you to dip you feet in what is now luke warm water 7 min later and once you have been forced to JUST PICK A COLOR. Speaking of feet, if I am paying for a service like this, I'd love to enjoy JUST maybe like 5 minutes of it. Is that way too much to ask for? Maybe just let me soak my feet for 5 minutes and allow the skin to relax before you get started? I literally dipped each foot before she slapped the callus remover on them. Since the lotion kept absorbing during my foot/leg rub, she pulled out cuticle oil and used it. Ah. Yah. Women do back massages and it was a total turnoff. They were half-assing it, staring around in all directions, facing some random way while they had an elbow in someone's back. They have packages you can choose from but they had not thought out well combination possibilities. For instance, I wanted a spa pedi but a regular mani, and there was no option. There was a spa pedi and gel mani that came with a back massage also for something like $62, but I ended up paying much more than that for a spa pedi and only regular mani with NO massage. As I kept asking if I could just do a regular mani with the available package instead of gel, they kept saying "but still good price, you get 20% off still" (since everything is 20% off for the opening promo) and I kept saying "WHY would I do that?!" Finally I just gave up and went with whatever. My cost AFTER the discount was the cost of the package that would have given me a gel mani AND A MASSAGE. Why is that so hard to understand?! So now as my water is super luke warm, I ask to add some hot water. Since plastic liners are used (great thing, thank you), she's not able to drain so she scoops out some water to make room for hot water, dumping it into the unoccupied tub right next to me. She did not rise that tub after. 15 min later, they seat a girl in that chair next to me, still never having rinsed that tub from my water she dumped there. Since I have no foot conditions and a liner was being used in her tub too, I struggled with speaking up or just letting it go. I didn't speak up in the end because I was just already completely done and couldn't deal with it. My lady who dumped the water to begin with witnessed the entire thing, she was there the whole time, never stepped away, she knew what she did and what was happening. I won't be returning. Very typical. I knew I was done with the place as soon as they rushed me with the color selection, tried to suggest colors and filled my tub to wait for me. No thanks. Oh and the 1.3 second foot dip and menu options... Nope.

Kathy did an amazing job on my nails. I've discovered the soft gel nails and they have made a huge difference. she is fast, efficient, and does an amazing job.

Both of us were able to fully relax and my nails look great, as usual! An extremely clean and comfortable nail spa! I only ever want to come here for nails. The staff are so nice and welcoming and they really cater to the clientele. I have come with friends many times because they ensure you are seated next to each other and they really curate a spa experience that meets the needs of both people, even if they are getting different spa packages or paying for other services. I usually make an appointment but have also been welcome here walking in. This spa is always busy and once you visit, you will know why. The whole staff provides such a hospitable experience--even the owner will start your nails if they are super busy. They have a rewards system as well and you can cash in points for spa experiences or fully paid plane tickets to Florida. I have to say, I have never seen another nail spa with this kind of reward system, but you are spending the money on nails anyway, why not get points toward a full set or a trip to Florida? You can feel the quality in the products they use and while you might pay a premium price at Horizon, they never get it wrong.

For context, I am a girl who regularly gets my nails done. I usually get a gel set with designs,…read moreand I am still on the hunt for a perfect nail salon to suit my needs. However, while I wait for that salon to come into my life, Horizon is a good place to go to in the meantime. I've come here a few times within the past few months. The salon itself (while narrow) is consistently clean, bright, and always packed with customers. There are several nail technicians available, and making an appointment is very easy especially with the online feature (although I have called if it's day-of). Everyone is genuinely friendly, too - from the desk staff to the technicians. The prices are also clearly listed which I appreciate. My one critique of Horizon Nails is the lack of consistency with the capabilities of the nail technicians - let me explain. As mentioned, I am a person who enjoys nail art - every time I go to a salon, I want a different design. Some are simple, and some are more complex. I have not yet found a nail technician that I am truly satisfied with at Horizon Nails. Don't get my wrong - the quality of work has been great, and I love that they get me out in 90 minutes or less. However, when U book an appointment of 'gel fill with design,' I have gotten a different person every time. I think they're mantra is 'Any of our nail techs can do a design!' but you know that is just not true. I haven't run into any real issues with this yet, but I am the type of person who likes to go to my same tech with consistent results. I haven't found that at Horizon Nails yet, but I will not give up on them, and if something changes, I will be happy to come back and update this. Horizon Nails is also a little on the expensive side (their eyebrow was is like 20 bucks which is nuts - and a lip wax is 15, so 35 dollars for an eyebrow / lip wax!), but they do offer a rewards program which is a great incentive (even if it takes a lot of money to earn a reward. Also, are they serious about the trip to Florida? lol). The desk staff have also randomly given me coupons from time to time which is so nice of them and a great guarantee to make me come back for more services. I've also gotten spa pedicures from here and THAT is where Horizon really shines - honestly, probably the best pedicure that I've gotten in a really long time! And there is PARKING to boot, which is spectacular! Overall, this is a solid spot to go for manicure and pedicure services. I will be patronizing this business and hope my experience will only go up from here!

This is the worst appointment I have ever had in my entire life. The owner was clearly not ready to have an appointment today even though she took my $25 deposit online booking. Her drill wasn't charged her backup drill wasn't working. After I showed up to the salon on time and the salon was closed and she wasn't there and they proceeded to call me and see if I can come back because her drills were not charged. She had asked me if I wanted to come back an hour later I told her no and asked her if she could file my nails manually. She said yes and tried to put new gel, X nails on top of old gel, X without fully filing end or soaking them off, which annoyed me. When I complained and asked her to continue to soak them, she gave me a bit of an attitude, but agreed to do it. I don't think she understood what soaking off meant so then I asked her if she can cut down my nails and start fresh before putting the gel ax on. She agreed to that, and as she starts to put the gel ax on, she realizes that she still doesn't have her drill and that she can't proceed any longer. I quickly got aggravated and told her how unacceptable this was, and she basically turned it on me and said I told you I didn't have my drill and then I pretty much should know because I get my nails done so I asked for my $25 deposit back but she gave me and I walked out with my nails not done cut down nothing on them. She is very unorganized. The salon is not clean. It was freezing in there and quite honestly I think she was high.
