The guy I worked with was distracted, acted bored by my questions and answered them with jargon. If I knew what I was doing, I wouldn't be asking for help!! Another associate interrupted our time, and my associate started looking at an iPad while I was continuing asking my questions. I asked him if he was busy. He said I only got 10 minutes, so he was doing something else. I hadn't even been with him for 10 minutes! It would have been nice to know that 10 minutes was the appointment time. They were able to fix my problem with no pressure to upgrade. The only thing I was disappointed with was it was kind of a cluster checking in. There was a guy at the door asking what you needed and sending customers to different sections, I almost felt like they needed a number system (like a deli). With my issue they told me to sit in the back and customer service would call and talk me through the problem, I tried but still wasn't getting it. their phone app schedules you for a battery replacement yet you arrive and wait an hour to find out they don't have batteries in stock. You're told you can't even call to find out if they're in stock because they have to see you in person even though you've already establish for a battery replacement. Terrible service. read more

So glad I made an appointment for the service needed to my AppleWatch. Word of advice.... avoid the software beta. The challenges I had with my watch and phone not connecting during workouts was due to the beta. I was an advocate for the beta's loved that I was able to get a sneak peek into what was coming on the upcoming updates to the software.... No more. I will not be inquisitive regarding that anymore; I had to uninstall/reset my phone. Due to the betas the last update without it was over a year ago. My phone basically lost information because we could not use the last backups over the last year. Now things are in order.... however my AppleWatch audio is muted and I can barely hear via the watch. Guess I will be getting a new AppleWatch soon. I was in the store over an hour but glad I was able to get my issue resolved, not happy that I had to make the trip at all but I blame the beta. read more

Need help with their repairs a simple battery repair took over two hours and that's with an appointment not just a walk-in

I took my laptop in for a battery replacement. They shipped to a repair depot. After a week of telling me that they were working on it, they finally admitted after 8 days that the depot doesn't have batteries and they don't when they will get them. In the meantime, they can get my laptop back to me. I had to call customer service to get any help. read more

UPDATE:. So to add insult to injury, the phone just needed a SIM card reset. Such liars. Just trying to squeeze us for another $400. Apparently the iPhones aren't waterproof or water resistant per the IP68 rating the give them. Or Per Apple. Even if the LCI dosent indicate water damage. You will still be misled into believing you have voided the warranty. 6 meters for 30 min, nope. 54" for 5 seconds would be more accurate per our experience. More lies from a market that dosent see the color of your money being green enough and anticipates your return like a snake in the grass. read more

Came here because my AirPods weren't working. I signed up with the Genius Bar and came for my appointment. I waited about 20 minutes after my appointment, not sure what happened there. The girl who checked me in must've did something wrong, but I eventually was put back in the cue and was helped. My Genius Bar rep was so great!! She was knowledgeable and friendly. She not only helped me with my AirPod replacements, she made sure to add notes so I didn't need to repeat myself over and over again. She also helped me with my camera auto correct issue that was driving me crazy whenever I took photos. Love being a Apple customer and despite having to wait longer for my appointment my issue was solved and it was great service! Also love being able to chat with a specialist! Buyers Remorse: Another, all to common, experience with Apple support. This store protects the "genius bar" support people behind a default transfer to the website when trying to make an appointment. The online support was not successful in finding a solution. The next step is a trip to the Apple Store. The associate at the door had no interest in hearing about my problem, immediately jumping into demonstrating "expertise" by rapid tech talk, flipping screens, criticizing and changing settings. Generally a "baffle them with bs" approach. The associate said the "Genius Bar" is only for complex issues, recommended that I use the Apple website for online support, informed me that no more associate time was available and walked away. read more

This is such a mixed bag experience. We have had to go to the Apple store before and recently. That place is a nut house. We drove there because we needed help with my hubbies Iphone that took a dump. Walk in- is basically a nightmare. We had a 4 hour wait. The good news was -the Tech Nick was FANTASTIC!!! He was kind, knowledgeable, funny, and most importantly HELPFUL! I would give him 5 Stars. Apple- you need more stores. You're a big rich company and need more help for your products that don't stand up to a standard and need repair or replacing. Remember you get customers with new products- but you KEEP them coming back with better service of products that we already own. We need more Apple Tech Genius access. Especially since Apple Care eventually says you have to go there or send things in by mail. We did that before too- sending it in and that was extremely time consuming, slow and disappointing. Which is why we drove to Mayfair to the Apple store. If it's that busy- there is a bigger need- please Apple!! The final note is we were helped and his phone replaced and that was appreciated. But took 61/2 hours with travel time and through no fault of our own. So thank you for the remedy, but know that your customers need more help at the Genius Bar! read more

My Apple Leather case started to peel so I wanted to see if I can use the warranty to replace it. The initial visit went well, and the in store advisor stated that I will be able to have it replaced. She put in the order and notified me to come pick it up when the item arrives as they did not have any in stock. However when I stopped by again to pick up the replacement, they notified me that I will have to pay the full price, due to "accidental damage". If they won't replace it under warranty I don't have an issue BUT what I do have an issue is the initial guarantee of replacement free of charge THEN having me drive to the store a second time just to tell me I will have to pay. If I was notified initially from the beginning I could've saved the time and the effort and just order a new one online. read more

I came to the store today to buy a IPhone14 plus. A Apple associate named Bianca refused to sign me in to the waiting list and asked me just to wait next to one of the table, so I did as what she told me. I waited there for about 25 minutes and saw a lot people came in after me got help and left. The store was empty and a few associates had no customers to help and I went back to Bianca and follow up with her, but she kept to tell me wait there and refused to sign me in. I showed up to the store tonight at 7:25 pm with my girlfriend. We arrived ready to buy a new phone, with just a few questions to decide whether or not to go with the 14 or the 14 pro. The lady who helped us did answer our inquiries and told us that it might take 20-25 minutes to setup our new phone. I made a quick decision and began to backup my phone. We watched her talk to a coworker--who said it was up to her if she should set us up tonight or push back until tomorrow. I drove a half hour to the store tonight, and she made a decision that she would not help us tonight and request we return tomorrow--probably to ensure that she could leave work a little early. As she turned back to us I told her I had made my decision and that my phone was backed up and I was ready to get a new phone. I didn't tell her I overheard her conversation with her coworker about the timing, or lose my temper with her, but I'm furious that in order to upgrade my phone I will have to make an additional hour long round trip. I'm tempted to wait another few months to upgrade, and will avoid trips to the Apple Store in the future. read more

They wouldn't let me enter the store unless I would commit to purchasing something. Although I was pretty sure I was ready to buy I wanted to compared specs and use the eye test on a couple of models, however, being pressured to buy just to enter the store is a huge turn off. Repair services are a bait and switch operation. I scheduled a specific repair for a specific device online ( with the store coming up as an option to do the repair), drove to the store, explained the need to the Genius Bar employee (cracked screen) . The employee acknowledged the need ( the device was in front of us) then spent 10 minutes or so gathering information, making sure I did backups, etc. before telling me they don't actually do that repair and trying to sell me a new device. It was a waste of my time and frustrating putting up with their unethical sales tactics. Left and got the device repaired somewhere else. read more

Went in for service and trade in. Trade in guy was very rude for some reason and on top of that denied my trade in. Submitted my trade in to Apple and it was accepted. Strange employee choice. Showed up for service early, didn't get help until 30 minutes after the scheduled time. The tech guy was helpful and knowledgeable however. Bottom Line: if you're purchasing something, you can be helped immediately (just buy online though). Walked in and was greeted by an associate. Signed me in and said it would be about 15 minutes. Awesome! Get a text 30 seconds after I leave saying they are ready for me. Awesome! I come back and then have to go up to a group of three associates talking in a circle. I tell them I was alerted I was up! They told me to have a seat and they kept talking in their circle. As I look around, there's 3 groups of a total of 10 associates sitting around talking to one another. I wait another 10 minutes and ask an associate what's going on. He immediately begins to belittle me saying I need to have an ounce of patience. Finally, after sitting and waiting for 20 minutes I get assistances $80 for a single AirPod replacement. Hands down, best first time in an Apple store experience! Made an appointment with the Genius Bar. Walked in 5 minutes before. Checked in with a super nice woman. She tells me to have a seat in the waiting area. Less than 5 minutes later, another person came over, asked questions, took my phone and I had a seat at the table. 2 minutes later, Em "my service tech" came over, did his thing. Within 25 minutes, I walked out with a new phone - service transferred, fully up and running, and no charge. Seamless, excellent, five star customer service and experience. This place is always a zoo. Probably don't go here without an appointment, because you'll end up waiting around wondering why you can't get any help. However, when you are being helped - I've had great experiences with employees. Not sure what's going on with some of the other reviews. Apple employees are expected to know their jobs and I've yet to come across one who can't answer my questions, so they should have a level of confidence. They might be quirkier people than most but it doesn't read as cocky to me. Just do yourself a favor and buy online. I love Apple's products and am addicted to my IPad. Work just fronted me a sweet IPhone, so I stopped in the Mayfair store to get a case. Big mistake. Apple designs their stores to be "futuristic" which translates to unbelievably crowded, total clusterf$&k and no possibility of actually making a purchase. See, if you want to come in, stand in the aisles, play with the products for hours and engage the staff with hundreds of questions but not actually BUY anything, you'll be just fine. However, should you arrive, find what you need and wish to purchase it....well...good luck finding a place to do that. There aren't registers (it's the future, remember?) and good luck finding a staffer that isn't swarmed and is willing to help because I'm pretty sure they don't exist. Last week I paid the Apple Store to replace my iphone battery because it was failing. Over the past week after the battery was "replaced" by Apple, the battery did not improve. Returned today and the store informed me that although they charged me for it, my battery was not replaced. They informed me that the technician even scanned the new battery serial number into my record. Sounds like possible employee theft at the store. The store replaced my battery and refunded me the initial charge. If you have had your battery replaced by Apple, suggest you check to see if it was actually done. read more

On my last visit to the apple store, it was prett deplorable. Of all my experiences in the past, I have never had an issue. They had done right by me so much, it was as if I knew there was no reason to consider any other consumer electronics than theirs. However, that may change from my last visit. And how they treat me may change too - now that they have "notes" about my last visit for my iPad. So, what happened? A while back I had an issue with an iPad, so they replaced it with a new one (somewhat to my surprise). The previous iPad had been dropped... More than once, and you could see scratches/dings on the case - so I thought it would be something I would have to pay for. But the issue - the microphone not picking up - was the issue, so full replacement, no questions. Mind you, one of the drops of this iPad was from about 5 feet in the air, straight on the edge on a concrete curb (it was being used as a teleprompter). So this time, I figure no big deal... This issue - a screen that is totally jacked up - red lines through out, everything is uneven... Really wonky. So I bring it in. Now this one had been dropped too... A 1yr old bumped it from a coffee table and it had a very minor ding on the corner. Genius takes a look. Says he has NEVER seen the screen act like this before. Of course, this minor ding is the culprit. Physical damage to the device, so it isn't covered under warranty. (you can see pictures posted under the business photos unless they get removed). Displeased with the results, I drive over to another apple store location (in vain of course, because there are case notes) and talk to the bay shore apple store. No go their either. So, in the end - I am stuck with a defunct iPad now. Oh, the BEST part - the Mayfair Apple Store manager basically said that if we don't want to pay for the replace,emit, we should just be glad we have an iPad. Ouch. Be sure you don't bump in to a wall with your iPad! Better yet, get some military grade ballistic case for it that adds three inches of protection so you don't get a ding that voids the warranty... I only left the 2 star rating because of how good my past experiences were. read more

Scam artists work in store. My charging port on my IPHONE was broken and my battery did not hold a charge which had been going on for at least a year. There was a recall on the 6S battery however the rep said there was no problem with the batteries. A manufacturer does not recall an item unless they item has been proven to be faulty. Secondly, they told me they could not replace the battery because of the broken charging port which made no sense. Of course they said I needed a NEW PHONE. UBreakIFix replaced my battery and my charging port for $120. Saved me hundreds of dollars. They are cons artists at the Apple Store at Mayfair in Wauwatosa, WI.
