Not a bad school, only two instructors, and both are good in their own way. I took ~5 lessons with them, one with Joe and four with Hassan. Hassan was extremely patient and kind, while Joe taught me some excellent driving techniques (such as for parallel parking and making turns). Hassan is good if you have some driving experience and are looking for more practice, and Joe is good if you're learning how to drive. Though I went with another school for my road test (Apple could not take me), I ended up passing with flying colors, and it was my third try, by keeping my instructors' tips in mind. read more

Apple Driving School provided the best possible learning experience for me. I have had a couple other driving instructors in the past, but none could compare to Farzad. He really works with you and breaks down the different aspects of driving so you learn everything step by step. Every lesson that I took with him, he always worked on strengthening my weaknesses and maintaining my strengths. I can almost say without a doubt that your time and money will be well spent at Apple Driving School. The level of support you receive up until and even after the road test is incredible and makes you feel like you're a priority student. Please don't waste your time checking other driving schools, make the smart choice and go with Apple! Sounds cliche, but I would give 0 stars if possible. They are some of the rudest, pushiest, unprofessional people you will ever meet. Setting up an appointment with them is a nightmare. My daughter canceled after one lesson because they were so horrible. They harassed my daughter outside of the business hours posted on their website, and then when I tried to call them during these hours no one answered. And they do not have voice mail. I would like an invoice for the one lesson she took. Since I can't call them, I sent them a message via the "contact us" link on their website, But given my past experience with them, I have very little confidence that this contact method works. I question the validity of this business. STAY AWAY! FAR FAR AWAY. UPDATE: 6/3/19: So, true to form, they continued to harass my daughter, so I called their office, and they actually picked up this time. Turns out that not only does the "contact us" function on their website not work, they claim that the whole site is old. They have another site now, but for some reason, the old site is still active... and it comes out as the top recommendation in a Google search. And not once, did they apologize for any of this nonsense, instead, they are treating me and my daughter like we did something wrong. In fact, the owners wife called my daughter and says she doesn't want to do business with "people like us". And the kicker is that my daughter originally wanted to take their "Package #2", which is advertised at $440 on one of their sites, and $530 on the other. They were going to charge me $620. The instructor for a motorcycle named Joe sucks. Extremely impatient. My first day I was having a problem with balancing instead of showing me how to do it right he started yelling instead. He also makes you nervous while taking a road test. As a result, you will fail and pay him more money to pass. Only come here if you are desperate. They are the cheapest motorcycle school in this area. read more

I chose this school only because I often saw driving students practicing on my block. Perhaps due to my incompetence, I failed my road test. However, given the actions of my driver, I think he was at fault as well. A nice man, he neglected to tell me very much of what I should expect on the fateful day, nor was his own driving particularly good; I caught him breaking little rules right and left, doing things that would cause me to lose serious points and fail. He also neglected to keep the car's registration information visible, according to the DMV employee administering the test. The woman who answers the telephone is very nice, and I can't give accurate information on other instructors. However, for those looking for a spectacular learning experience, I would save the three hundred and forty dollars and buy a bike. read more

Don't come here to learn how to drive a stick shift. The car is a very old pick up truck (I think its a 1978 Toyota Tacoma) which was very uncomfortable and extremely outdated and the instructor can't speak fluent English. He's a very good guy but he just has a heavy accent. read more

Came here after leaving another driving school, wish I came here first. First I had Joe and I didn't like his teaching style, because he was a little touchy and loud. So I switched my instructor to Hassan and he was great. I passed my road test the first time. They are very organized and work around your schedule. They are on time and have a good system. My experience with Apple Driving was great. Highly recommend Hassan and the service was great. The lady that works there is really nice too and helped me out a lot. read more

I failed 2x at Saunders driving school. Don't go there. Apple Driving School, gave me the confidence to pass my road test. In all seriousness, I was that guy that was convinced it'd take me 99 tries to get my license because I was scared to take the wheel. They have very poor communication with the customer. After numerous calls and emails I get no response from them. They change their office hours whenever it is convenient or turn their phones off. Very frustrating for the customer. Bought 10 lessons, they convinced us to buy 2 more. Never even took my son on the highway. He was not ready for his road test. Also, cut the lessons shorter that the 45 minutes promised. Horrible experience! read more

I went for my stick shift lesson on 7/3/15. Hassan is a great driving instructor. He showed me all the techniques learning how the clutch works, how to control it, shifting, parallel parking, three point turns, and lot of hills. I enjoyed it very much. He is very patient. Pretty ghetto, not gunna lie. I went to the Bellerose location for my lesson and it was just a house with a desk set up in the entry way.. The website needs a bit of updating. I signed up for a standard transmission lesson which was advertised at $90 but it was really $110. The driving lesson itself was not what I expected...I was expecting a Corolla or something with an easy transmission to learn on, but the guy showed up in an early 90s Tacoma which had no tachometer. I guess if you can learn stick in an old truck, modern smaller cars are a bit easier. I wish he would have put a Driving School sticker or thingy on the roof, though...people showed me no mercy on the road. But I guess that's a better way to learn. The instructor was actually really good at assessing my level of comfort before advancing into more tricky areas, especially the hilly areas near the Douglaston LIRR. If you're looking for automatic lessons, this place has a bunch of white Corollas that will definitely get the job done. While learning stick in a truck was fun, I wish I could have learned in something a little easier. I have a bit of experience with manuals which is why it didn't take too long to get started in the Tacoma, but I imagine it'd be a bit more difficult for a first timer. read more

I really wish I could have rated this driving school a 0. I had an appointment this past Sunday for 9am and no one had showed up so I kept calling and finally someone picked up. I rescheduled the appointment for today,Wednesday, for the same time the last lesson was supposed to be. It was 9:07am and II had not seen any car outside of my house and after the 5th call I received a call back. They had told me that my appointment was for Friday at 8:30am which was a lie. Then I was told that they had a slot for 7am on Thursday. Then I handed the phone to my mother and the person on the phone proceeded by telling my mother that they will send a car at 10am today where my appointment was originally for 9. This has clearly showed the disfunction in a business that is not fit for taking clients. read more

My daughter got a job in LI and commuting via bus/driving her was eating up our time. After asking some friends, two recommend this place. Nahid, the female instructor, is friendly, patient, and kept all her appointments. My daughter passed, so we can say it was money well spent. read more

I decided to go with Apple driving school to retake my road test after a ten year sabbatical. My first instructor was Joe, he was very patient and explained the rules of the road and provided me with helpful tips on making turns and parking. On the day of my road test I didn't want to take it but he encouraged me and gave me the confidence I needed. I passed. He's a wonderful instructor whose knowledgeable on rules of the road and what test instructors look for. read more

I signed up for Apple Driving School because the driving lessons were inexpensive in comparison to other driving schools in my neighborhood. There's an adage that goes "you get what you pay for." This was definitely one of those situations. From the beginning, Apple Driving School provided service that was not professional. The first time I scheduled an appointment for a driving lesson, the receptionist called two days before to reschedule the appointment. I was okay with that since I was told in advance about this change. However, on the day of the appointment, the instructor never showed up to pick me up from my house as promised. When I called the school to understand what was happening, the receptionist informed me that my name was not on the scheduling system. Other than my phone exchanges with her recorded on my phone, I would not be able to prove that I even made an appointment. (The school does not give their students email or text reminders of their appointment unlike other driving schools.) She asked me if I wanted to reschedule but I felt too frustrated. After many months, I decided to give the school another chance. My first driving lesson was with Joe. He was on time. However, I noticed right away that he spoke abrasively. He told me that he spoke to his students so aggressively because he wanted them to get over their fear of the person who will grade them on the day of the road test. I had barely been on the driver's seat since I got my permit, so I was learning from scratch. Joe did not take that into consideration. He taught me how to make turns, parallel park, etc. all in one lesson, and the first lesson no less. He also expected me to understand how to do what he taught me right away. When I didn't get something, he would make discouraging comments. To his credit, he did teach parallel parking well. What bothered me the most about my driving lesson with Joe was that he touched my thigh a few times when he talked about the brakes and he gripped my hands to show me how to use the steering wheel. I felt uncomfortable and had to tell him to stop doing that. While I did not report my experience with Joe to the driving school, I asked the receptionist to change my instructor. My second (and last) lesson was with Hassan. Hassan arrived 45 minutes late to the session. The receptionist did call to inform me that he was running late. Hassan was much friendlier than Joe, but I did not enjoy his teaching style. For example, he expected me to know how to make a three-point turn without telling me how to do it. If I knew how to make the turn, I wouldn't have signed up for the lesson! Our lesson was in the afternoon. Hassan seemed tired and not fully present. While I was on the driver's seat, I noticed that he answered his text messages. He even answered a call from his sister. They FaceTimed for about 3 minutes. I was a student driver taking her second lesson--the driving instructor being distracted was dangerous for not only me and him, but for everyone on the road that day. I have given Apple Driving School three chances, and each time I left with less than pleasant experience. I am currently taking driving lessons with another driving school that charges more for each lesson, but I am willing to pay a little more for professional service and where I learn to be extremely confident driver on the road who drives safely. read more

Terrible school -- I kid you not: my instructor fell asleep for a minute during my first lesson, while I was at the wheel at a busy intersection. Needless to say, I was very apprehensive about driving with them after. They also don't keep records of their students; when I asked for another copy of my 5-hour class certificate, they said they didn't even know I took it. The other instructors were ok, but it's a poorly run driving school (no pun intended!) that's a hazard to the road. I actually forfeited the rest of my money and am trying a new school. read more

Only two drivers, only one is actually decent a lot of money for mediocrity. One's a little too aggressive the other is extremely laid back and you're treated like a chauffeur unless it's your first drive and he's trying to make a good impression on you or your family. 5 hour class is you sitting and a chair in boredom watching videos. read more

I used the school services for the driving permit 5 hour course requirement. They just play videos for 5 hours and charge $50. At the end, I noticed that my name wasn't written as it should and asked to get a new certificate. Long story short, the receptionist and one of the teachers refused initially, I got yelled at and verbally insulted and got my paper just after yelling back. I can't imagine how is to be sitting next to a teacher like this and trying to learn how to drive. read more
