I wish…read moreI'd paid closer attention to the red flags before I put down a deposit, because things went downhill as soon as they had my money.   Throughout the entire process I felt like I was never given the information I needed, and my questions repeatedly went unanswered even after bringing them up multiple times. The templater only measured half the project and then AGS blamed me for it. Never in my wildest dreams would I even think about blaming a client for one of my people not having everything they need to do the job, and they then doubled down in wholly unprofessional late night email I was told "he's not a mind reader lol" and that I was supposed to tell him what to do. I don't expect anyone to be a mind reader, I expect AGS to provide its people with basic information such as the current scope of the project, AGS apparently feels that's not their responsibility.  Scheduling installation was awful. Multiple people reaching out and it's not clear if they were communicating with each other at all. AGS wound up having to reschedule but then the second person scheduled us for a time when I specifically said I wasn't available. I would have rescheduled again but by this point I just wanted these people out of my life as soon as possible so I rearranged my schedule to make it work. My questions about what to expect on installation day were never answered, again, even after following up multiple times. This resulted in confusion around payment which could have been easily avoided if they'd just answered my questions literally at all ever.

We basically decided to use Jason Brown Wood Floors after seeing a job they did for our friends. I…read morehad seen some bad jobs by others in the past, but Jason Brown's work was excellent, on floors that had seen better days. He replaced some damaged boards with original wood that was a perfect match. He also worked with them as they moved their furniture and went out of town for the weekend, during which time he completed the job. Jason Brown did an equally fantastic job with our house. We had not moved in, so we all had that to our advantage. He refinished our original early-20th century hardwood floors with inlay strips around the edges, as well as newer bamboo floors in the kitchen. We went for no stain. Jason's knowledge of historic flooring really showed in our conversation during his site visit. He was so professional and accommodating, even though I'm kind of a jerk. The job went perfectly smoothly and quickly, completing our whole downstairs in two days. I admittedly didn't get other estimates, as his price didn't shock me and I knew I could rely on his quality, service and schedule. We couldn't recommend Jason Brown Wood Floors any more highly! He was communicative and explained pros/cons of all the various options. Partway through the project, we realized our pre-existing front porch needed some repairs too, and Sean seamlessly added that to the project and was very reasonable on the price. Once the team started, the work went quickly but was clearly done very carefully. The attention to detail was fantastic, and the end result is a beautiful and functional porch that we're thrilled with.
