My first visit to any Apple Annie's though I've heard great things about the Morgantown location. Walking in, it's a super cute and welcoming home that's been repurposed for the business. I saw local Black Dog coffee on the shelf so that's a nice touch in keeping it local. Staff was super friendly and took care of customers as soon as they were ready. First, the cookies LOOK epic. I got a half dozen- chocolate chip, lemon delight, white chocolate cranberry, salted caramel pretzel (2), and peanut butter surprise. I was super excited to try the salted caramel pretzel, and it was fine, but I found it underwhelming. The dough just didn't have much flavor. The lemon delight was also okay; it was just not as sweet and lemony as I expected it to be. The pb surprise on the other hand is delightful. A soft, peanut butter packed cookie that hit all the right spots of what a great cookie should be. I have not tried the other two yet so I may come back to edit once I have. My drink was one of their "September Sips" and sounded like it would be super yummy- honey, chai, and peach purée. It tasted like none of those things. In fact, it was kind of gross. The only decent tasting part was the cold foam on top. I ended up only taking a few sips before pouring it out. I was very disappointed in the drink because I was most looking forward to it when I saw it advertised on their page a few days earlier. I'd come back, but probably wouldn't waste my money on a drink. Can't wait for their full restaurant to open in Falling Waters in a few months.

Carrie something else other than cookies. And what I had, I didn't find to be very good, but I make it home is much better.

This place is fantastic!!…read more We have gone here multiple times and never disappointed I guess the only thing I don't like is the random people hanging out in the parking lot. But it is a college town so it's not the worst thing. Definitely recommend

For those who knew my grandma, she never turned down ice cream. So while in town last week for her…read morefuneral, my friend suggested we visit Amy & Alex's Homemade Ice Cream and Coffee. I'm not usually a huge ice cream person, but it felt like the perfect way to honor her. The shop itself was bright, clean, and welcoming, with several people already enjoying their treats. We grabbed a high table by the front window, which made for some great people-watching while we indulged. The menu immediately caught my eye. The range of flavors wasn't just broad--it was creative, unique, and full of options you don't see every day. That foodie spark kicked in, and I knew I had to go with a flight so I could taste a few. (Brilliant idea, by the way--four little cups of different flavors!) Our picks were: Grilled Lime Burnt Honey Crunchy PB Jelly Espresso Mascarpone Lemon Biscotti Brown Butter Pecan & Praline Each scoop came with a color-changing spoon (such a fun touch), and every flavor was creamy, consistent in texture, and absolutely delicious. My favorites were a tie between the Espresso Mascarpone (though I think it could stand strong without the lemon biscotti) and the Brown Butter Pecan & Praline. The Grilled Lime Burnt Honey was bright and unique, and the Crunchy PB Jelly was tasty but leaned a bit sweet for me. Overall, this was some of the best ice cream I've had--flavorful, high-quality, and true to its name. Add in the kind, helpful staff and the clean, cozy atmosphere, and it made for a really special stop. I left not just with a happy palate, but also with a new tradition: every year on August 22, I'll seek out a new ice cream spot in honor of my grandma. Amy & Alex's was the perfect place to start.
