PLEASE READ! Protect your children and keep them away from the owners at Applause Music Academy. They recently posted a disturbing picture of my 6 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER on their social media. It was heavily filtered and made her look OLDER ! They gave her cleavage ! . Her lips are fuller and made to look as if she has make up on. She's half Filipino and half Mexican and the filter also made her look completely Asian. When I contacted the owners through email they took the picture down immediately but did NOT apologize. The next day, my daughter and I met the owners in person through my request and it did not go well. He and his wife Dr. Tig were not apologetic at all. He would not tell me who edited the picture and he would not admit that it was wrong. I asked him point blank 3 times if it was wrong in which he stood silent. I was blown away by his refusal to admit it which made me think that HE was the one who did the editing . He claimed that it was done to clear up the background of the picture which is a total lie. This same picture was posted a few months ago without being changed. Another reason it's false is because there are actually 3 people in the picture and all 3 were made to look more Asian. One person was actually a white male and was completely changed into an Asian woman. He kept saying it was not intentional and he would not apologize. After 25 minutes of the meeting going nowhere, my daughter and I got up to leave in which Dr Tig finally admitted some regret but it was too late because it was like pulling teeth to make them feel sorry for what they or their employee) had done. They did not empathize nor did they realize the seriousness of the picture that was posted. Two days later, my daughter received an email stating that my granddaughters were both being terminated from the academy. It was easier for them to terminate them instead of saying sorry. This is very upsetting about how they handled this situation. They need to take posting children's pictures seriously! Our kids have been at Applause Music Academy for 5 years. Dr. Tig is truly amazing -- caring, kind, professional, and so creative in the way she teaches. She encourages every student with patience and positivity, making learning music fun and inspiring. You can truly feel how much she cares about her students and their growth. Ms. Victoria, the violin teacher, is wonderful as well -- positive, energetic, patient, and very professional. She creates such a warm and encouraging learning environment for her students. Overall, this academy is a very special place filled with talented teachers who truly teach from the heart. My son (age 7) has been going to Applause music academy since he was 5 years old. He has been taught by Dr. Tig the studio owner when the studio was only located in Glendora. The studio has since expanded and they have another location in Rancho Cucamonga. They teach music theory and scheduling is flexible such that you can do zoom classes or in person lessons. The studio offers workshops and piano recitals. They also have art classes offered too. My son has done about 6 piano recitals. The studio has a program for called Musician's Succession Path and each level and recital progresses the student to advance. If you practice piano daily for 100 days you can obtain a music ribbon. Students get button pins and trophies as recognition for music recitals and progression in the music academy. This has been an incentive for my son who sometimes does not want to practice piano lessons The studio has various teachers who are so patient, talented, and experts in teaching children music. I have been to another piano studio in Arcadia called Music Box when my son was younger and I was appalled with the treatment from the piano instructor who man handled my son's arm and didn't know how to teach a child. The studio offers lessons in piano, drums, cello, flute, guitar, voice and art. Since coming to Applause I am very happy with the studio and my son enjoys being taught by Dr. Tig and the various instructors with diverse musical talents and backgrounds. My daughter Sydney is learning piano with Dr Tig more than one year. Dr Tig is professional and has experience on teaching kids. My daughter loves to go to the piano class. She has a lot of progress on her piano. This year she took the CM test on her piano, it was amazing. She also take the violin lessons here with Ms Abi. Ms Abi is very nice, patient and always encouraging. She has no stress to learn an new instrument because of Ms Abi's teaching methods. read more

A family friend recommended this studio to me , and they are always bothering you to sign up even if you aren't convinced. They are super unreasonably priced, considering their services are bare minimum. Seems like they are more about the money than teaching the kids. The teachers and admin seem very sweet but the owners seems to not care. For the pricing and what they have to offer, there are better options and this place I would not recommend. Not only that but I stopped by the studio and one of the teachers was super sick and coughing everywhere while still teaching a student, and I think that's very unprofessional. read more

My son has taken piano lessons with Dr. Tig since 2019, and the progress he's made over the years is phenomenal. Since then, I have also enrolled my daughter in piano and both my kids in violin with Applause. The transition into zoom during the pandemic was smooth and the teachers are all professional and wonderful. They hold 2 recitals and couple workshops a year for kids to perform in front of an audience, and it has helped them gain confidence and performance experience. My kids have developed a love for music and I would like to thank Applause Music Academy for that. read more

We love Applause Music Academy! We've been sending our 7 and 6 year olds to Dr. Tig for well over a year. Through COVID, we've been able to switch our lessons to a virtual setting, and the quality of the instruction has not changed one bit!
