Absolutely loved this place. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and the staff were friendly and attentive without hovering. Everything came out quickly, and it felt like a great balance of casual dining with really high-quality food.

Company hosted a large group dinner here. There must have been a headcount misunderstanding because we didn't have enough seating initially. Once that was resolved, the rest of the night was a delicious experience. Given lamb is the spotlight at Apollon, the entree decision was what TYPE of lamb dish to order. The server did not steer me wrong by recommending the lamb tenderloin saffron. He said it was so tender, it could pass for beef. He also suggested medium rare. He was absolutely right on both counts. This was one of the best lamb entrees I've had in a long time. I would put Apollon on my "revisit" list next time I'm in town again because this was a top notch dinner and a lovely surprise to find in downtown Appleton.

The whole experience - ambiance and service was great! The food was just as good and cooked to perfection.

Perfect dinner to celebrate my Mother's 80th birthday!!

Apollon Apollon was a fantastic experience! To start - the hospitality was great. We went on a Thursday night, made a reservation in advance (not necessary), and were seated immediately. The restaurant was quite full. Our waiter was fantastic. Walked us through the menu, was not rushing us in anyway, and made great recommendations. I was with two others and we were quite hungry. An appetizer would have been great, but we did not choose one. The entrees come with a soup and salad. The soup is a mainly broth and a little lemony . It was very good. The salad was the perfect size and was fantastic with the two dressings. My entree was the Mixed Grille (incredible) and the other dishes were the shrimp Santorini and the chicken roulade espanaki. These were the perfect size where you were full and no food went to waste! The flavors were amazing, the prices were solid, and the atmosphere was cute! Definitely will come back!

Our server was very attentive and gave us recommendations and explained each dish in detail so we knew exactly what we were getting. They served us in courses with perfectly portioned soup and salad which allowed us to build up to our main course. It was a refreshing experience to be able attend a dinner that is unlikely to be found elsewhere in the nearby Appleton area.

This place so deserves its top rating. We had made reservations well in advance- a must for a Saturday night. I explained that I was in a wheelchair and might need assistance. When we arrived we were greeted by Kelly who was very accommodating and helpful. They had a well located table for us so I could be comfortable. We started with a Greek rise wine which was very nice. We were offered a taste to make sure we liked it. Everything on the menu sounded fantastic, but my husband already knew his favorite dish- lamb a la creme. I had the triumph of the sea which had salmon, scallops and shrimp. Both fishes were outstanding and also came with a delicious Greek lemon soup and a salad with creamy feta and red wine dressing. Still one of our favorite restaurants after coming for many years.

Really tasty food, fine atmosphere, very good service. Also, prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of our evenings here.

I really don't think this has much meat in it whatsoever. I've never seen chopped lettuce in a gyro either but I can handle that. I unfortunately knew there was going to be an issue when the lamb on the spit had to be heated up as I stood there waiting since It wasn't already heated and turning. The seemed to have all three spits turned off and it was only 1:30. Cannot understand the lack of veg at all - that's the cheap stuff people Honestly this was a sad experience. I have to add that I ate about 1/2 of this gyro, not for lack of being hungry but mildly warm lamb turns cold quickly and without more veg this turned dry quick. They tzatziki sauce was off putting as well. Was this a bad day here for them or a regular occurrence of low quality, poor timing on shutting down cooking elements, not enough business to keep the basics on? Really confused who would allow this to leave their business in a customers hands to be photoed.....

I…read morewas happy to hear that my wife secured reservations for us and another couple to try the restaurant out for the first time. Being the former Basil restaurant space, the interior is more intimate, darkly lit and a sure romantic spot for date night. The waitress was prompt and helpful selecting drinks off of their menu, inclusive of wine, beer and craft cocktails. Everyone at our table ordered a different drink or glass of wine and there were no complaints. For appetizers I ordered a bruschetta, which was served on a very crispy slice of seasoned bread. What was interesting was that the tomato topping (which was perfectly seasoned with basil, garlic and other spices) was served in a bowl on the side to allow everyone to top to their taste preference. It was a nice touch. We also sampled the cheese curds, which held up well to our Wisconsin standards, and a soup which I can't remember the name of but got high marks. Now for the main course. I was not expecting to be mind blown, by my god. The namesake dish, the Osso Bucco, was absolutely phenomenal. The veal was literally falling off of the bone and was easily, effortlessly separated with a fork. I have rarely had meat this tender. On the other side of the bowl was a fantastic risotto and a perfectly seasoned stew of carrots and onions. I did not indulge in the bone marrow, but I have heard it is a delicacy. Altogether this dish was worth every penny, and I will absolutely be having it again. To finish off this fantastic meal we opted for the tiramisu, which was elegantly plated in a creative manner I have never before seen. I enjoyed the wonderful ending to this delicious meal, and when you visit this restaurant I'm sure you will too.

I had the seafood stew, and it was quite underwhelming; it was more of an under-seasoned pasta dish. The bay scallops and shrimp were pretty tough and overcooked, BUT whatever whitefish was in the dish was outstanding. My hubby had a Caesar salad and the scallops entree. Both were wonderfully executed. The dressing on the salad was the perfect amount, lettuce crisp, and just plainly done well. And the scallops were perfect. Elaboration would take away from what was just 'muah.' :) Server was attentive, but not overly pushy. Ambiance was low key, quiet, and warm.
