Revised: The company call me back after initial review and want to make things right. The technician provided exceptional service and fixed everything that he found even it wasn't his fault. They also give me a new ecobee and won't take my money even if I offer to pay. I will definitely be using them and consider having service contract with this company. Old review: Plus one star that they will come out late or weekend to see you and they will make several visit if the problem reoccurs base on one $90 charge. The technical identified that I have to replace the board for my furnace. While checking and putting it back, he pinched a wire without knowing. I turned the furnace on and it blew out my ecobee. I needed to post a review because we had a very expensive Tankless system put in by them over a year ago. At that time they upsold us on a inspection/maintenance program. When I called them out to have them do simple maintenance.. They didn't do any maintenance. Did not look at the A/C...they simply told me there were bad items on furnace and it needed replaced....to the tune of $17k. I wasn't comfortable so I waited and well....we recently got our furnace inspected and they said it was in amazing condition and thought it was only 6 years old when it's 16 years old. SCAM ALERT - DO NOT TRUST. Apollo was called out to assess and fix a leak from my shower to the basement. Gave me a quote ranging from $300 to $3000. They failed to schedule me for six months, and when I called back, said it was find they didn't need to re-quote. Came and did the "repair" and cashed my check. Next day, still the same leak. I had them out three more times and the leak still persisted. Plumber the last time made notes to have a manager call me regarding this and a refund. Didn't hear from a manager for three days and had to call and demand to speak with someone. Manager gaslit me to think they did fix a leak and that I had multiple leaks in several areas. Except WITH EVIDENCE I can blast water where he says is the problem, with no leakage. None of the items the quoted me would have fixed my leak. We have been customers for more than 10 years and have been patient with multiple mistakes and problems they created over the years. We had a service contract and regular maintenance just to find they weren't going it properly. Another example of poor service. In addition they consistently want to maintain our heating and cooling equipment after or late season. They just canceled our cooling maintenance for the third time and wanted to push it to end of next month. When we told them we want to cancel our service and want reimbursed for services not rendered, they just said, no refunds. Terrible company. read more

I have three issues with this business: First: After having my first furnace tune up appointment cancelled by Apollo three weeks ago, today they finally showed up (outside the five hour window and only after a follow up call made to find out where they were). Second: For a fee of approximately $189 you become a "Value Choice" customer and get a furnace tune up and an AC tune up in the spring. Twelve years ago when I first became a customer these "tune ups" actually included something (electric checks, thermostat checks, furnace box vacuuming, etc). Basic preventative maintenance was done as part of the tune up. Today in the case of my furnace they did use their meters to check electrical and did visually check the thermostat but no vacuuming of the furnace box, fan etc. NO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE! Instead today Apollo's tech said the box and fan were dirty and to clean it would be an additional $286. Bottom line, less service much more money. Third: The tech's attitude was terrible. When questioned why no maintenance was included the tech became defensive and disrespectful calling me "Dude" instead of Mr. _____ or Sir. Bottom line there are better options out there. read more

I had my sewer line replaced June 2025. I spent over $8000 and another $2000 to repair my yard. My sewer started backing up and flooding the basement again this past Saturday. Now it has happened multiple times. I had a tech come out today. He was great. Unfortunately Molly would not allow him to run a camera to figure out the problem because Apollo nedds to see an active back up. So there was a meeting with the GM, Plumbing Mgr and Molly. They've all decided not to take accountability. It has only been 5 months since I had the work done. You would think they would want to find the reason. They are being very suspicious. I've spent so much $ with Apollo through the years. I will never use Apollo again and would urge others to think twice. The techs have been great. These 3 characters have proven themselves to be shady. Now I have to pay a whole different company $900 to come out with a snake/camera to diagnose the problem. After I just soent $10,000. Apollo is great! We had a whole heating and cooling system installed back in March, and today, our technician, Korey came out for a diagnostic check up, as included in our plan. He was on time, very professional and friendly. Everything checked out okay, and he helped me understand exactly how to take good care of our thermostat and filter changes. I had to leave for work on the day of the install, so I had some maintenance questions for him. My boyfriend was here that day, and tried to remember everything for us, but I wanted to know how to take care of the A/C unit during the Wintertime. A person came out to visit my mother, she wanted yearly service for her furnace. The man came, immediately told her she needed an entirely new furnace! she was told she has a gas leak. A repair could not wait. She was suspicious and called another company whom she trusted. They came within hours, found no gas leak, no need to get a new furnace ( hers is not very old). I reported this to the BBB, the reply I received was even more shocking! I was told that they find my complaint unfounded and they don't tolerate libel! They further said the matter is closed, and not to contact them ever again! How crazy that this is how ppl with a good faith complaints are treated! Really, really disappointed. This company installed a brand new geothermal heating system for me Jan 27th. There were issues with installation - turned out someone did not install a required shut off valve. It took almost a whole day for someone to arrive and get it working. The system worked for 1 week, then caused an electrical spike and died. Technician came that night and fixed it. Tonight it did the same thing again - and no joy, cannot even get to anyone to do emergency service. Given the amount of money I spent, I am seriously unhappy with the quality of the installation and service so far. read more

Complete Scam. Called them to come out for routine yearly maintenance, nothing wrong or going on with furnace. Like other reviews immediately told me I needed a new furnace - mine had gas leak, fire hazard, etc. Said they could band-aide it for $1,500 but it would fail quickly. Also told me get it done in 2024 because next year the federal government was instituting a change that would double everything! They wanted to set another appt immediately to measure for an install, got a lady on the phone to have me commit - instant red flags of a scam. Said not thank you. Called the last company that I had service (not sure WHY I did not do that to begin with - got enamored with Apollo's $49 service coupon, dumb) and literally they found one small minor part that needed replaced for $200. Clayton came out to diagnose our A/C. Turns out the blower motor is bad. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. As I have a great deal of technical background, I do know when someone is blowing smoke. He told me straight, and quickly found the blower motor failed. Unfortunately, the motor is out of stock, this is a carrier issue, so I have a warranty on a motor that no one seems to be able to find. I called them with problems with two toilets. My toilet was leaking at the base upstairs, and my toilet downstairs was running. They looked at the toilet upstairs and told me they could replace the wax ring or install a new toilet. I couldn't understand why they would suggest replacing the toilet as nothing was wrong with it and it wasn't that old. They proceeded to tell me that it was a "fancy" toilet and that they didn't always sit right on the ground because they didn't bolt to the ground in a good location, which could be part of the issue. They then went and looked at my toilet downstairs and told me the seal needed fixed and it was an easy fix and they had to run out and get a part. They came back with the part and began work and then came and found me and told me that a plastic piece was broken from "water pressure" and since the toilet was a "one piece" toilet, it could not be fixed. I suggested that they accidentally broke the piece as this was thick plastic and it would not break on its own. They denied it, made me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about, said they had fixed many of these before, told me he had been a plumber for 7 years and that he would admit to breaking a part because the company is big enough that they would pay for it. They gave me a quote to replace the toilet downstairs, which was a lot less than the previous quote, but the toilet was fine to begin with. At this point, I told them I wasn't happy, and they could leave my house. I contacted a plumber friend they lives out of town and sent him photos. He quickly assured me that the part could be ordered and fixed on the toilet downstairs, and that I did not need a new toilet. He also told me that he believes the plumber broke the plastic because water pressure would not do that, as the plastic is strong. He recommended that I stay away from Apollo and thought that they were trying to take advantage of me. I then called Apollo back as this escalated to management. I told them I talked to another plumber and they said the part could be fixed, so the office lady asked for photos. After sending them photos, the manager said the part could be fixed, after their plumber with 7 years experience assured me that it could not and that I needed a new toilet. They apologized many times and said they would now fix the bottom toilet for free and fix the wax ring upstairs for half the price. I told them that I did not want them to return to my house as I felt I wasn't treated right and that they tried to take advantage of me, as I have little knowledge of plumbing. I found another plumber to do the work for a fraction of the cost who was recommended by a close family friend. The staff at Apollo's office were extremely apologetic and nice, and said they completely understood why I would not want to work with them after this. We needed a wax ring installed in my dad's toilet in a house that is less than 4 years old . Wax rings are anywhere from $4 to $10 at home depot. I was told by the woman on the phone that it would be $98 to send someone out. I said okay, no problem thinking it would be $200 max to install. The gentleman showed up and then proceeded to quote my dad for an additional $600 to install a new wax ring. He could buy one of the nicest toilets at home depot for that price.... I had this company come out, they were the only ones available on July 3rd after my A/C went out, they quoted me $2600 for control board and fan blower motor. They went on to say I could get a $500 discount on repair and a $50 discount off service call if I chose to purchase their maintenance plan. Then they went on to tell me that perhaps I just needed a new system all together and someone could be out right now to talk to us about that. I decided to get a second opinion and the other company came out, diagnosed the problem and returned to replace the fan blower motor... the control board was fine and it was $1000 less than what Apollo quoted. We bought an Amana furnace and AC from Apollo and utilized their service plan twice a year. After the 10 year warranty, the very next AC service call, the tech said the compressor was over-amping and that I should consider buying a new system. I didn't take that advice. The next service was for the furnace. The tech showed me some rust spots where the heat exchanger connected to the secondary heat exchanger - no holes, just some stains. All of the numbers were showing normal. No CO present (I have multiple detectors in the house - all were 0) He condemned the furnace and shut the gas off and tagged it with a red tag. I had him turn the gas back on until we decided what to do. The sales rep said a new complete replacement would be 16K, then later, 13K for a RUUD. Or, Amama would honor their warranty and replace the heat exchanger, but the labor would be 3K. Apollo recommended to replace the entire furnace with another Amana under the warranty for about 4 K - they didn't want to replace just the heat exchanger. But they would not warranty the replacement furnace further - even though it was brand new. Apollo had stopped doing business with Amana... blah blah blah. I also had Apollo look up the Over-Amping situation on the AC compressor - Turns out, that tech was a bit over-ambitious - it was not over-spec. Skeptical, I called another supplier who looked at Apollo's photos - he said that the stains on the crimp area didn't just happen and were probably there for years. Of course Apollo would find them only after the warranty had run out - and it turns out they were not an issue anyway. At this point I was done with Apollo altogether and decided to put in a new furnace that had better ratings than the RUUD and the Amana, plus a new 10 year warranty. Just for fun, we tore apart the Amana looking for issues, the heat exchanger had absolutely no holes, rust or issues - it looked almost brand new. In fact, the whole furnace - blower motor - everything looked almost brand new - the new technician agreed. We could not see any issues with the connection between the primary heat exchanger and the secondary other than a very slight staining. Maybe a problem to watch, but not something to condemn. Oh - one more thing we discovered. When Apollo originally installed the Amana furnace, 5 ton, they put in a good filter upgrade, but failed to fit it properly to the furnace intake. The intake was 1/3 covered up by the furnace siding! The new furnace people put the new furnace on a platform, which opened up the circulation 100 %. I feel like I did my part with Apollo - I paid them every year to service it, kept it very clean. When it came to after warranty, they tried to sell over-priced replacements, wouldn't warranty a warranty unit and prematurely condemned a good, working furnace. Plus they installed the furnace incorrectly in the first place. read more

Earlier this year we had to have some things done to our hvac system. We contacted the office and scheduled the appointment. The young man that came out was professional and personable. He gave us a run down of all their services and items we could get with the new system. I already knew it wasn't going to be cheap, because I worked in property preservation and knew the costs associated with this. Im not sure why these people had a hard time but i was pleasantly surprised with the price, the type of unit (which they carry great brands),and the thing to get my install. My Hot water heater went out last Friday. Needing hot water I contacted Apollo for service. They charge a trip fee, which I was perfectly fine with and they will waive it if you chose their services. After review of my situation, the cost to replace a 40 gallon hot water heater tank came out to $3400. I was a bit shocked at the price, but I needed it replaced and made the knee jerk reaction to finance the system. I was denied by their finance company and thank God I was. That was the point that I realized I needed to stop, think and research. Yes I was put out with no hot water but there had to be a better and more affordable solution. After reaching out to a few other companies I was able to get my hit water heater replaced for under $900. Yes I said $900 dollars! Now I am all for companies making a profit for their goods and services, but $2800 profit to replace a hot water heater?? I also need a couple of new valves and lines installed. They wanted to charge $400 plus dollars per line and add an $800 Water Pressure Valave as well and those fees supposedly included install. Mind you I got this all done for less than $900. Very disappointed that this company tried to take advantage of me and my family. Makes me wonder how many people this happens too? Bottom line... Take a DEEP BREATH when disaster and life strikes, then DO YOU RESEARCH. Do not get taken advantage of companies like Apollo who only care about how much money they can extract from you. I have used Apollo Heating And Cooling for a few years now and have always had great service from them. One of their associates was at my house servicing my HVAC and they sold me a maintenance plan for $15.50/mo and you get service discounts and labor discounts from them. He pitched this plan to me to lower the service call. He also stated to me, and it is on the contract, that you can cancel this plan within 3 months for a complete refund. I listened to the tech and cancelled it in less than 3 months. They had one of their managers call me back and try to beat me out of my refund. I eventually received my $46.50 ($15.50/mo x 3 mo) refund check in the mail. I called them today to get a quote on a repair and I was told that they will no longer service my HVAC needs. It's a complete waste of your money calling this scam company. My wife and I bought our house in 2021 knew nothing about boilers so we followed their recommendations to our injury. Everytime they came and it was often it cost us over 750.00 dollars for them to flush our boiler or add some kind of green stuff they claimed would fix our problem. None of it worked we now flush our boiler ourself every week and save over 700 dollars each time we flush our boiler. All you have to do is hook up a hose to your discharge valve on your boiler and do it yourself. Turn off thermostate and turn off switch to your boiler in your basement. Then turn valve to discharge dirty water in your boiler that's it/ I can't wait until God shuts them down they charge to much and the service doesn't solve any of your problems! Called Apollo to get a general furnace tune up on a 5 yr old furnace. Tech said it was spitting oil, and recommended a new motor and since it was under warranty, the part would be free. I agreed to the work. Told me I had to pay $500+ up front or nothing could be done. I thought this was odd but paid it-as the tech said the motor could 'freeze up at any time' and that would be more costly. He installed my 'free' motor a week later. Took him 30 minutes. I requested an invoice and asked if there was any warranty/guarantee on the work, which he redirected me to the office to get the invoice and said I 'had his word' that the work was good (I'm sure that will hold up,...). I called the next day-mainly wanting to know what I paid $500+ for, if, the part was free? The service mgr. finally called me back and mansplained to me how 'business is done'. He was rude and condescending. Refused to send me an invoice or explain what I paid for-other than general ..we have to make money as a business... And ultimately hung up on me. I called Apollo in for a recheck of a small problem that I had with my A/C last year. the tech came out and said "well, you can either fix the $6000+ in repairs or talk to our sales department about a whole new system. (He said this in much sweeter, more concerned words, of course). They can be here as soon as this evening to talk to you and price out a new system. We finance, you know". Of course you do. He was very convincing, showing me pictures of things that I had no idea what they even meant. Luckily I am suspicious by nature and called out not one but 2 other companies for another estimate. These two companies diagnosed the exact same issue - no new system even mentioned and we paid just over $250 for the repair. I think it is terrible for a company to prey on someone's unfamiliarity of a product and try to worry them that there is going to be a huge disaster if they do not replace. HVAC used car salesmen. It all started when I submitted an online request for an estimate. Explained this was estimate only and cannot commit to a purchase yet. Lady called to schedule a time for the estimate and again explained that it was an estimate only. The salesmen (yes 2) showed up, I explained my goal- to get an estimate- and they did a 5 minute measurement of the rooms, took a look at the current units and then said "ok let's see what we can come up with." They gave me 5 different options ranging from $11,000 to $14,000 and then asked if I was ready to pick a plan. I was like I don't think so... then came the shady business of "well what if we give you the option 5 for the option 4 price? Would you sign then?" Or "what if we throw in a humidifier on option 3?" Every person that has come out from service to install has been extremely professional. Kyle was the tech who came out and explained what was wrong with the furnace and all my options. I bought a house last spring but it was too cold during my inspection to run the A/C. I had a lot of work done by contractors which included a new smart thermostat. By the time I moved in it was fall and I never needed to use the A/C. The following summer I tried the A/C and it didn't work. I called Apollo and Shawn Sullivan came out for an inspection. Yes my unit is old, but after the 8 minutes he spent looking at it (no trouble shooting whatsoever) he said the repair would cost around $1000. Like 25% of the cost of a new unit. Not worth it. That visit cost me $100 for just looking. Looking that anyone with a screwdriver could do. He said there was high voltage and a short that he would have to search for but it wasn't including in my $100 visit. Pointless visit. Nonetheless I paid and opted for a new unit quote. That agent wasn't any better. Ralph Coss came out and pretty much insisted that my furnace needed to be replaced along with the A/C because the new A/C wouldn't be compatible with the old furnace. He said he'd have to make calls to verify. Over a week has gone by and he still hasn't given us a quote. Today I had Hero Heating & Cooling come out and Dirk Elsass did a great job of actually troubleshooting. He verified that my newer smart thermostat wasn't compatible with my older system. He replaced the thermostat and boom, A/C back working. I realize my A/C may be on its last leg but when it goes, Hero Heating & Cooling has my business. That goes for my rental properties as well. Buyer Beware! While Apollo employees are courteous and usually punctual for service calls, I really don't know how ethical the company is. As I have called several times in the past when my older Carrier AC unit wasn't turning on at the start of the season, I expected the typical $90 Apollo service charge and maybe a $100-200 fee to fix. Well, this year the repair tech insisted the fan motor was seized, and it would be $900 to fix (including a maintenance plan fee of course). Being that it's 20 years old, it probably wasn't worth fixing - his recommendation. The tech said he wasn't supposed to quote, but said it could be from $1000-$10,000. So, I scheduled a quote. Apollo again came out on a Saturday, which was very convenient, but gave us a $7,500 quote - mind you this is ONLY for AC, not a furnace combo. When we mentioned we were getting a second opinion the same day, the guy seemed a bit taken off guard. Thank goodness we did. Not only did PDR Comfort Systems in Twinsburg fix the unit by lubricating the fan for $100 (including the weekend service call fee), but also said when the unit is FINALLY at its end, he could quote $3000! Morale of the story - get a second opinion, or personally know someone who works for a company - in any service area, not just HVAC! read more

My furnace stopped working saturday. Apollo came out for a $90 service call fee. The tech examined it and first told me I needed a new furnace. When he saw i wasn't bitting on that he then told me the ignitor and the pressure switches were bad. $170 for the Ignitor which is a $25 part and takes 10 min or less to swap and Approx. $400 for the pressure switches. This part retails for $130 and take about 10 min to replace. ( i think those prices are way too hig , even if it turned out i needed them, which i didn't.) He did not have the parts with him nor could he tell me when they be able to fix it but wanted me to pay aprox. $600 today for the repair and some sort of monthly charge that he couldn't explain what it was for. He also wanted to add a Tune Up for $160 + which i was not opposed to, but again he couldn't explain in detail what that included. Honestly it didn't seem like the tech had much knowledge or experience and had a hard time explaining things to me in a way that gave me any confidence that he might know what he was doing. Even though i did not have heat , i declined the repair due to my intuition that he hadn't actually diagnosed the problem correctly. I'm an electronic technician by trade so after he left i tested the ignitor and pressure switches and both seemed to be working fine, but I did discover the Draft Sensor was being tripped, keeping the furnace from fully starting. In the morning, i went outside to discover a nest coming out of the cap on the chimney. I had a chimney sweep come out and he found a complete blockage of the flue. After the blockage was cleared and flue swept, we turned on the furnace and it is working fine and didn't need any repairs at all. The furnace's safety features were just doing their job by not allowing the furnace to start with a blockage in the flue. I contacted Apollo and explained the situation. To their credit the listened and were nice to me and they refunded my service call fee. They also said if I would of had the repairs done they would have refunded me for unnecessary repairs if it was later discovered I did not need them. read more

I had Apollo out to fix a zone on my hot water heat. They did a great job at a fair price. Knowing I needed an air conditioner I joined their frequent customer program. A couple weeks later I had them out to change a faucet for me downstairs. I figured since I was on their plan it wouldn't be that much. I could not be home that day and my wife handled everything. Unfortunately my wife thought I had approved the price. I had not. The only thing their technician did on the phone with me was try to upsell me. They charged me $372 for one hour of work to put a faucet in plus the service charge. I bought the faucet myself. All they had to do is unbolt the faucet, and put the new one on. The lines were fairly new. That's is complete ROBBERY! Needless to say they will NOT be who replaces my AC. So its a case of stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime. I thought I'd found a great company to work with. Not so much! Guess I should have read the YELP reviews first. They have earned these low numbers. read more

Everyone I talked to was professional and very helpful. The were able to work with my schedule to get a tech to the house for a fall/winter tune up. The tech was prompt and courteous, he explained what he found and what he did. He was clean (wore his booties when he was in the house), neat in appearance and well versed in his trade. The schedulers were patient and helpful. We will definitely be using Apollo again in the spring. read more

I never saw a worse performance from a HVAC tech. No interest if trying to address and fix my loud noise coming from blower motor on high speed. Told me my Carrier furnace is too old anyway and should be replaced. It is 16 years old but has been well maintained. Just a miserable experience......STAY AWAY!!!! read more
