We went here twice in the past couple weeks. First time was really good. We had a sampler plate and everything was prepared very well. We decided to come back last night for a date night. We specifically asked for lamb kebab and lamb skewers in the gyro. The cook tried to pass beef off as lamb. When we protested the cook argued it was lamb. They wouldn't admit they served beef even though the difference is clear. We were offered a 15% discount which doesn't even cover the up charge for lamb. This was a bad interaction but maybe a one off so i give them a mixed review. read more

Haven't been here in a long time but craving lamb chops??? The front of the building looks terrible. Weeds and just not taking care of, kind of a turnoff! However I had the Greek combo with lamb chops. Spanakopita. Dolmas and Greek spaghetti. And besides the fact that the lamb chops were way thinner than before they were very good. They also brought some pita bread that was delicious. The place still looked pretty much inside as it was a long time ago. Cheap looking tables and carpet and the ceiling had water damage. Not very good atmosphere. However I think I would go back for the food or maybe get it takeout. We were the only ones in there at 530 pm. They also no longer give you salad and to add on the Greek salad side was another $7.50 so I didn't get it! read more

Don't judge a book by its cover... or in this case a restaurant! We came for lunch on a Saturday and there was only one other person in the restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and service was great. The restaurant was clean and tidy. We ordered the Greek fries appetizer which was mediocre, nothing special. The pizza we got was so good though as well as the gyro sandwich. I would definitely come back and recommend others come too! Prices were fair. read more

Our food was wonderful. I really liked the Tzaziki sauce. We ordered a the Chicken Gyro Plate. Plenty for two people! We also got the greek fries as appetizer. I could pass on the greek fries. They were literally just steak fries with garlic & feta. I asked for ketchup, and they said they were out and not getting another truck until Tuesday :( also, the chicken was moist and flavorful. However, I found a piece of wooden skewer in two different pieces (yikes)! Overall, satisfied with the food & experience. They just need a few tweaks to make it a five-star experience. read more

Mediocre food, extremely dry gyro meat that was more like jerky than tender or juicy, my dog was happy with it but he also eats pig ears and other far less savory things. I do not normally take the time out of my day to leave reviews but I could not help myself after waiting to be seated and overheard a man very rudely state his opinion on 3.99% charge that is applied when using card payment. Not only am I leaving this review to state my own opinion at this restaurant but to also remind people that no matter where you go in the entire Tri Cities area, everything has gone up in pricing. As well as the new terminal machines and their extra costs, need I remind everyone our servers/waiters are not in charge of those things so remember to be kind and considerate before stating your opinion. Aside from witnessing that, our food was wonderful. My husband got the chicken souvlaki and he says it was better than what he remembered! Very very tasteful chicken, soft and not dry at all! I had the moussaka per usual and again, lovely traditional food. Our service was also very nice and efficient. Our server left us needing absolutely nothing. The place can definitely use some extra attention on the outside but other than that, 9/10. Definitely recommend! read more

Wonderful GF/DF alternatives that are amazing. Lamb chops were absolutely delicious but be sure to ask for a server or the chef who knows the ingredients and has actually tasted the dishes. My most recent waitress was extremely new to the food industry but they shouldn't reflect on the passion in the kitchen. Apollo or appalling? Honestly, I don't know where to begin. Moldy wine, sliced falafel, overcooked gyro meat, no hummus, no pita, just deep-fried bread. Our server had on flip-flops and couldn't be bothered to keep her personal conversations off the music system. We barely saw her anyway. It was quiet inside, the music was too loud and did nothing for the ambience, it was just bad country music played far too loud. Nothing about this meal was redeemable. We ate here on a Tuesday night and it was really quiet in there. My daughter loved how it was decorated inside and kept pointed out all the statues and pictures, which did a good job at keeping her distracted until our food arrived. We ordered the Tzatziki as an appetizer and my daughter loved the warm pita and breadsticks. I also ordered the Greek salad and enjoyed the dressing which was authentic and not the same "Greek dressing" they serve at mainstream restaurants. We also tried the beef Shish-Ka-Bobs, which had so much flavor. The beef was savory because of the marinade and spices which I enjoyed. Humble, homestyle interior aesthetic (reminds me of my grandma's house); the exterior leaves something to be desired, but since you don't go to a restaurant to eat the chairs, who cares? What really matters is the food, and the Apollo does their Greek heritage proud. I've stopped in to Apollo twice, while passing through to other locales in Eastern WA. The first time was random chance, but the second was deliberate; I'd come to enjoy another fantastic gyro place, with some dolmas and baklava. Service has always been prompt and attentive, the food served quickly with no errors, the pita bread always warm and *not* completely drowned in tzaziki (unlike some other places); just the perfect amount, light and tangy. I don't get out to Eastern WA much anymore, but I will be stopping at Apollo along the way the next time my path takes me out that way. read more

It's been years since we went here, but the experience has stuck with me. Literally, one of the worse dining experiences of my life. We got there late in the evening (perhaps an hour before closing). We were the only ones in there. The server, only one, yelled at the cook the entire time we were there. She berated him non stop. We should have left. By the time we got our food, well, perhaps she was right (but she shouldn't have been doing it such that customers could hear her). The food was overcooked and some of it even burnt. Last night August 8, 2022 at about 530 my daughter and her fiancé ordered lamb chops and calzone. Calzone was good the lamb chops we're terrible they were so small and overcooked $40 for what The service was OK but not good. The cleanliness of the place it could do with a makeover. We used to go to Apollo all the time the service the food the cleanliness has definitely changed. Been a very long time customer (I was born in Richland) even when management has changed over the years. Food was always excellent. Service has been up and down but we've always given the benefit of the doubt. Tonight we experienced the unimaginable. We were taking our 14 year old for his birthday dinner - his #1 choice was Apollo. We showed up at 7PM on Friday night. Upon walking in the door with a party of 6 (aunt and uncle were in town) we were immediately greeted with the waitress indicating they are only sitting folks 4 or less from 7-8PM unless it's takeout. It was exactly 7PM. I thought she was joking at first but quickly realized she drew a line and it was very obvious. Not sure what just happened we left (no choice) and went to another restaurant - not my son's choice. The rest of the evening was a bit somber. Believe the negative reviews. I did not and it resulted in very bad food and food poisoning. No one else was dining there on a weekend evening and despite the nearby theater having a show resulting in all the other restaurants in the area being full. Bizarrely, the waitress had a pile of her fake eyelashes on the counter at the entrance that had fallen out and she was collecting in a pile. After seeing that and the empty restaurant I should have run but felt guilty. read more

A coworker and I had the Souvlaki lunch special last week and the plate featured three grilled chicken skewers, a nice-sized salad and a basket of toasted pita slices. Apollo has been a stand out in the Tri Cities for decades and their quality speaks for itself. I brought my partner here yesterday for his first time and he left very impressed. The gyro calzone was loaded with ingredients and the dough was buttery and flaky. The gyro plate was piled high with fresh carved meat, pita and the Greek salad dressing is one of my favorites. I am so glad this restaurant survived covid and Inslee politics. One of the best restaurants in the tri cities. Gyro and Moussaki dishes are both a favorite of mine. You can spent $15 dollars or so on a ridiculous burger, or you can dine hear for the same lunch price and savor prime dishes. Choice is yours. Ummm yeah. I can be superficial. Sadly, outward appearances can sway me--away. I'm a beast. This joint's been in the Tri-Cities longer than I. I've made only a few visits over the years. The outward decor is lacking (It looks like a big-ugly-cement-Lego-blocked-cube. And c'mon--move that dumpster BEHIND the building or something!). But yeah, enough of me being superficial. Yes, once you get over the outward appearance, you have a nice little Greek restaurant. They have several choices of chicken, meat, and seafood dinner-dishes, as well as gourmet calzones & pizzas. Their prices are a little sleep--nothing under $14. I went with the pizza--I had a Paradisisos Pizza (garlic butter, gyro meat, onions, feta & mozzarella cheese). I liked this pizza because it was different--never had a gyro-meat topping on a pizza. It was pretty darn tasty. Now I had my pizza as take-away, but I should say the interior of the Apollo is pretty cozy. And when I was there, the joint was darn near packed. I need to get over being a shallow soul. Maybe Apollo will help. I'll be back. Right now a solid 3.5-stars. read more

The absolute best Greek food in Tri Cities hands down!! Good size portion of Gyro meat on the Gyro plates and the most amazing Moussaka. Also friendly server, the gal was extremely helpful when it came down to recommendations and and we did not have to wait long for our meals. We will definitely be back :) read more

Tacky decorations with outdated interiors. Waitress could've been a little bit nicer but then again it was near closing time. Food came out in a timely manner. Salad was very generic. Spinach pie was fabulous! Lamb chops were a lil bit too well done/dry. Soggy spaghetti. I've never been to Greece so I can't say if it's authentic, I'll get back on this one next year. read more

Im torn here.. Apollo has decent food, i have been here 3 or 4 times now each time i liked my food. My last dish was the roasted chicken which was perfectly cooked.. The drawback is the decor is super outdated for greek style restaraunt. Its very Early 90's too much fske foilage that is dusty this place could really be a great hang out with some much needed updates. Stopped by for lunch around 1130 AM. Restaraunt opens at 11 AM so not many folks were in yet. Was promptly seated and served water. I ordered the lunch special, lamb gyro sandwich with a lemon and chicken/rice soup. I loved it. Lamb was seasoned well and tender and the soup was hot and delicious. Loved the pita bread. My sons spaghetti had zero flavor. My youngest son did love his meat calzone though. It just felt very overpriced for the food we received and the quality just wasn't great. I hate to give this place 2 stars, but frankly, for putting the words "Greek Restaurant" in the name they deserve it. The food was so good when I was here (though not exactly traditional). I have the chicken souvlaki, delicious. My wife had the Greek pasta, feta-creme sauce delicious-ness. What kills me here (I'm 2nd gen Greek BTW) is that the traditional fare, is miles away. 1.) The red wine from "Northern Greece" could've been balsamic vinegar. Not the real deal... if it was, it had been uncorked for way too long to serve. 2.) Baklava was akin to eating a rock. The filo was dense as pita. I think I cracked a tooth 3.) The Greek coffee could've passed as Foldgers. Greek coffee is essentially an instant coffee that you make in a special little pot that steams it and makes a froth. Should be thick and strong like espresso... this was yuck. I even ordered it for the whole table because they had never had it... and now they never will again! Don't think I'll ever go back. Don't recommend you do either. read more

The food here is incredible and I've never tried anything I didn't like. Last time, I ordered a Gyro and loved it! I've also tried their Calzone. I don't come here often because it's VERY expensive for what it is. But, they have some decent lunch prices if you go earlier, which makes it doable for the person who doesn't want to spend $50+ for a two person dinner. Their service is also veryyy slow and sometimes lacking altogether. If they were more friendly and welcoming it would be nice! Overall, go try it, yummmies. read more

Update to my previous review: This is what I overheard at my last visit to Apollo- While my father and I were waiting for our takeout (the only customers present), a cute elderly couple came in and said they were expecting two more. The waitress brought them their waters, though she totally ignored their cute-old-person jokes. A few minutes later, while she was in the back, the other couple came in and sat down. The waitress saw that they were seated, but totally ignored them and stayed up at the front. After a minute or two, the old man came up to the front, and very politely let the waitress know that the other couple had come, just in case she hadn't seen them. Her sarcastic reply: "Yes. I can see that. They already have their water, so I'll bring them their menus in a little bit." I guess that doesn't look that rude written down, but the tone was totally unbefitting someone in a customer service profession (and indeed a polite person in general). I wrote before about how this rude waitress is what motivates me to always prefer takeout to eating in, but this was probably the worst of what I've seen in my 20-odd visits to this restaurant. But yet I've still come back those 20-something times. Because I love that food, and there aren't that many options for Greek food in the TC. So maybe this should be read as praise of the power of their delicious cooking. Definitely if you're not someone who's bothered by slow service and surly waitstaff, this place is great. read more

I love Greek food and a good gyro is one of my favorite things to enjoy. Well, I didn't get to enjoy one at the Apollo. Not at all. The restaurant is small and very dusty. They have dusty dirty plants everywhere and the other decorations they think add something to the experience..... doesn't. They really NEED to clean and dust. The waitress we had wasn't very attentive at all. And she had a bit of an attitude. She made me feel like I was a bother. When we needed things we had to wait quite a while for her to return from whatever hidey hole she was in. Now for the gyro it was just ok. a 4 out of 10. My biggest complaint is instead of nice thin slices of meat, as it should be, some lazy cook just threw a few huge chunks in it. The meat was a bit dried out. Looked and tasted as if it had been sitting out quite a while. Not enough sauce. I did request more when the waitress finally showed back up. My companion was less than impressed with her meal as well. I doubt I will ever return. I do wish we had another Greek restaurant, I do love Greek food. read more

I was excited to try this place, since I love greek food. It looked decent and the service was okay, though a little shy and slow at first. However, I wasn't impressed and don't think I'll return. It was the food that I was disappointed with. Got the Chicken Gyro and my husband got the Chicken Souvlaki. The salads were "bagged salads" and the ranch was "meh". I found the gyro to be too saucey and the flavoring wasn't quite right. I especially wasn't impressed by the "Greek Spaghetti", which was nothing more than Pasta Roni. My husband didn't think the Chicken Souvlaki was anything special. We actually both liked the same meals at Greek Islands better. AND the food is cheaper at Greek Islands! The waitress was good at anticipating refills on soft drinks but was a little slow otherwise. Not very friendly, but that isn't as important as getting my refills! Overall, save your money and go to Greek Islands. read more
