We had most of our house remodeled. With emphasis on the guest bathroom and kitchen. They paid extreme attention to detail, including fixing things that were outside of the scope of the project! Tomio told me that he was irritated by the gas lines. He said, "I like it better when gas lines are run parallel to each other, and only make 90 degree turns. So I'm just going to redo all of that." This is exactly what you want in your contractor! They worked every single day and we could see fast progress. If we ever dropped by the house, Tomio would stop what he was doing to go over the progress and make sure we were happy. We were always very happy. Their billing system was easy and clear. And we were never overcharged. Two things that really state how much I enjoyed working with them. 1) I am planning on doing another project with them. 2) Tomio received one of our holiday cards. I recommend them extremely highly!

Tomio and his team work harder than anyone I have seen. Have you ever gone by a construction site and everyone is just sitting around? I never saw that with Tomio and his team. These guys are always moving at lightening speed. He was amazing to work with. Don't be fooled by those big construction conglomerates and their "large" teams! We have family that went with one of those companies against our advice and they have regretted it and they wish they went with NuVision! Tomio's attention to detail is incredible. I had a similar experience to another reviewer here. Our project was an expansion and remodel of the living area and adding a deck. In our case, that meant we had to move the electrical box to a new location. When Tomio started looking at the wiring the previous contractor had done about 5 years earlier, he couldn't stand it. He said it was a mess under the house, too many connections. Technically it was up to code but he just didn't like the mess of wire and he wanted to redo it so he did at no charge to us. How many people in this industry still do that kind of thing? It seems everyone just wants to do the bare minimum to get paid these days, but not Tomio. He is one of the few out there who insists on doing it right whatever it takes. I am also a bit of a DIYer so I "helped" Tomio on occasion by doing some things myself that I wanted to do during construction like installing attic stairs and doing some low voltage work with his guidance. I know I was probably getting in the way but Tomio was always patient and offered great advice on how to do it correctly and to code. I unfortunately do not have pictures of the finished space they worked on but I did find a picture of the wiring work Tomio did and I am attaching that here. Needless to say the finished space was impeccable and we were very happy. Anyone with a little OCD will appreciate the wiring picture though and it just shows how Tomio and team pay attention to the tiniest details! This electrical panel was eventually covered and no one would ever see the detail under it but just knowing how he did that kind of work everywhere whether it was visible or not was comforting as a homeowner. Go with NuVision, you will not regret it!

Since my previous contractor was going to retire, I asked him to refer a good one to us, this is how I was acquainted with Xi. The first project Xi did for us is to renovate one of the rental properties in Sunnyvale that I manage. He is detailed oriented, responsible, neat and trustworthy. The most important thing is that he is very HONEST. During the project, some minor changes occurred, but he was super patient and fully cooperated with our requests. His charge is also fairly reasonable. In the end, I was more than happy to pay him a little bit more than what he charged as our appreciation to his awesome job. He will be my first crew to call whenever needed. THANK YOU, Xi !

They took extreme care in aligning the minor tile patterns, installing the vanity and lights perfectly symmetric. They are not in a haste to just finish the work, but they did the work with extreme perfection and attention to detail. I am very pleased with the remodel that Xi and his team did, and would love to work with them again for future projects! Highly recommend them!

Very easy for me. Paul estimated it would be about 5,6 hours. It turns out to be a two day job since one thing just goes to another. I felt so guilty because the labor cost he asked already on the lower end (I quoted several through Yelp) so I offered to pay more at a fair price. Even my pickiest neighbor called me and suggested me to offer more. But Paul declined saying that this happens often because you never know what's hide under before you tear up the old one. Some jobs take longer some jobs take shorter time. He installed my door and the frames around, painted the door two sides, the frame and the surrounding wall and installed locks and peephole for me. From start to finish, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Ron, was exceptional throughout the project. He was always available whenever we had questions or wanted to discuss changes, and he was very flexible in accommodating our requests. What we especially appreciated was his ability to suggest practical and cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality or the overall look we wanted to achieve. He listened carefully to our feedback and made sure our expectations were met at every stage. One of the more challenging parts of our project was adding a new window with the proper permits. We had approached multiple vendors and contractors before without finding a good solution. Ron and the team went above and beyond to help us navigate the process, obtain the necessary permits, and ultimately make it happen. Also replaced tub with a walk-in shower in secondary bathroom. The quality of the work and finishes has been impressive. The bathrooms turned out beautiful and were exactly what we had visualized--if not better. We were also particularly impressed with Aldo, who worked extensively on the project. He is extremely skilled, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in his work. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident throughout the finished space. Overall, what stood out to us was the team's commitment to finding solutions and making our vision a reality. Ron made the entire process much easier with his responsiveness, flexibility, and focus on customer satisfaction, while Aldo and the team delivered excellent craftsmanship. I will certainly want to work again on future projects

I interviewed -- and I kid you not -- eight different Bay Area contractors just to get a feel for pricing, transparency, and overall vibe. OT Bay stood out immediately. Ron, our project manager, has been consistently honest, kind, and communicative from day one. There was no pressure or vague answers -- just clear explanations and realistic expectations. That alone made a big difference for me. We hired OT Bay to demolish and remodel our kitchen countertops, fireplace, and shower. The process was organized, the crew was professional and respectful of our home, and the work turned out beautifully. They showed up when they said they would and followed through on what was discussed. We did run into a few design issues along the way -- completely on us -- and OT Bay was incredibly accommodating. Instead of making it stressful or transactional, they were understanding and proactive in helping us adjust the plan. Ron would often say that he wanted us to walk away loving the finished work, and I genuinely feel like he meant that. He worked with us to make sure we were happy with the outcome. I'm always cautious about getting taken advantage of with service providers, especially when pricing isn't rigidly set. From day one, OT Bay was transparent and straightforward, and over time that built a level of trust I honestly didn't expect to have with a contractor. If you're looking for a team that communicates clearly, handles challenges professionally, and stands behind their work, OT Bay Builders is worth considering. Ron and his team were a solid choice for us.

So what makes Danny and OK contracting great? #1. they show up on time. - I know. Shocking right? you hire someone and expect them to stick to a schedule and show up as promised, but if you've done remodeling before, you'll know that this isn't always (or even often) the case. #2 No unnecessary scope creep - What's this mean? it means Danny won't try to talk you into replacing a bunch of stuff that doesn't need to happen. If he knocks a wall down and sees serious issues, he'll list out your options and in the end give you his HONEST opinion of what he would do (it's wasn't the most expensive option in my case) #3 Fair pricing - We got a number of bids and Danny came in the lowest. That wasn't the reason why we chose him though. His bid was broken out and much more transparent when evaluating costs for each function. It was easy to read and understand where your money is going on a large project #4 Personality - Danny is a straight shooter and is a generally nice guy. He'll call and discuss issues before doing additional work. In the end, we had OK contracting demo 2 stucco walls to repair wood rot and also waterproof/seal our patio deck. Work was done on time and as described in the work proposal. We're happy with the work that was done and will definitely keep him in mind for other jobs.

We hired Danny to oversee the project, and he was more than willing to work with a couple of contractors we had picked ourselves (cabinetry and windows-- even though later in the process, we wished we had gone with his recommendations). We took out some walls in our kitchen, put in a new heating system, put in hardwood floors, expanded our bathroom, remodeled our other existing bathroom, and changed some closet configurations, and everything went very smoothly. Danny is great in that he keeps you informed of everything that's happening, and if a mistake is made, which is rare, he'll owe up to it and fix it. In addition, he does a lot of the carpentry himself, which probably brings down costs. He and his crew were always on time, and he often stayed late working on our project. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking to do an extensive remodel and would definitely use him again for other projects. He did a wonderful job.

Our project was completed six months ago, and my husband and I honestly still marvel daily over how…read moreawesome everything turned out; we still walk into the kitchen in the mornings and think "wow, I can't believe we live here." Choosing EBCON to renovate our home was one of the best choices we made. After buying our house, we wanted to make significant changes to the kitchen and bathrooms. Our goals were to brighten up the very dark kitchen, to open up space to accommodate an island, a larger range, and proper ventilation, and to modernize the three bathrooms. We also needed a bunch of other miscellaneous work done, such as making repairs to the foundation and removing a fireplace. My husband and I are full-time software engineers and parents to an energetic toddler. We're also first-time owners of a single-family home. Although we initially researched directly hiring specific tradespeople (for instance, to modify cabinets or install a new countertop), we quickly realized that managing all the dependencies would be complicated, and we were worried that our lack of experience would lead to a costly mistake somewhere down the line. The tipping point was when we realized we would need permits from the City of Palo Alto. Time to call a professional! We chose to work with EBCON because we wanted someone experienced and trustworthy to guide us through the remodeling process. I'm a nit-picky person (for confirmation, ask anyone I've done code reviews for), so I wanted someone known for producing high-quality results who had a great eye for detail. Lastly, as working parents, we needed someone who was comfortable with doing a lot of communication and decision-making via email. Erik had great recommendations from several coworkers, and they all mentioned that while he wouldn't give the lowest bid, what he charged was fair, and he explained all the costs up front -- no hidden surprises. Erik delivered all of that and more. Our project completed right on time and right on budget. It was about as stress-free as a project of this size can be. He gave us great advice and we appreciated that he took the time to educate us about our options and make us feel comfortable with every decision. Throughout the process, we emailed almost daily and met him on-site once a week to review progress. He often impressed us by pointing out areas that didn't meet his high standards and were already being addressed. When he needed a decision from us, he was very clear in outlining the factors we should consider. And whenever we asked for something, his response was basically always "no problem, we'll take care of it" -- at no extra charge. For example, we approved the location of our recessed lights during an in-person walkthrough, but changed our minds after the cabinet installation and painting. I would have expected us to be on the hook for a revision like that, but Erik was happy to do it because he agreed it would look better. The overall workmanship is incredible and it's obvious that he, his site director, Roberto, and all the workers and subcontractors took great pride in making our home the best it could be. They even created a lovely photo book of the before-and-after of our remodel, and gifted us cutting boards made from the remnants of the stone for our countertops. EBCON's long warranty shows that they stand by their work, and half a year after moving in, we haven't had to call them back even once for repairs. Could we have gotten some of this work done for less money? It's possible. We have to admit we had sticker shock when we saw the initial contract. But having heard horror stories from other friends (and even our designer) about their terrible experiences with other general contractors, we know we made a great decision going with EBCON. They took the stress out of the equation and made the project actually pretty fun. We were so happy with them that we later hired them again to remodel our condo! Needless to say, we can't recommend them highly enough.

If it needs to get done, this company can do it and they will do it with the most qualified people in their fields. I've seen it more times than I can count, no matter how vocal and upset a resident may be, they end up impressed and blissfully content. When my contractor can take the bite out of a customer without me having to get involved then that translates to fewer headaches for me and no lost productivity trying to manage expectations and worry about results.
