These guys are the most honest I've dealt with in many years owning Audis. Instead of just installing new brakes they let me know it was the tires that were causing the issues. NOTE: They don't even sell tires! So I paid a small fee for their diagnosis and went elsewhere to get a new set of tires. Went in for a routine oil change but had an added complaint about the power steering fluid being low because I was noticing how heavy and difficult it was to turn the steering wheel. Asked for that to be checked- they said, "yeah, sure." When I went to pick up the Audi they told me there was NO problem whatsoever with my power steering fluid levels. I was like- you've got to be kidding there's no way this is normal- they said yeah it's fine we tried it out . (Meaning they drove it. ) there's no way they drove it. It was clearly not right. I didn't have time to deal with it so I left and didn't belabor the point. Should have gone back to Auto Logic but I was thinking since I have an Audi these guys are probably the best. Two weeks later I make another appointment. Now it's really bad. The appointment is just for addressing the power steering fluid problem. They tell me the hose has a leak and I need a new part. (No apologies for completely ignoring that two weeks ago when they claimed it was fine) this is called DISHONESTY They admit the problem is real. They order the part. A week later I go back again to have it installed. When they install it they say, it wasn't really this hose it seems to be something else where the hose leads to and it's broken and really expensive to fix. It's not worth it you should sell this car! I was like- WHAT? Yeah- it's completely unfixable. But the new hose snd topped off power steering fluid did fix the problem. I'm writing the review nine months later. The car is fine. I took it to Auto logic the car was fine. Then another mechanic at Massey Auto shop in Durham checked it out as fine- then a mechanic at AAA service on Rt 55 in Durham checked it as fine. I would never trust these guys again. Auto logic said that's weird. When they told you to sell your car Did they offer you a price for the car? No they didn't go that far but I think the whole thing was unprofessional and shoddy work with a lot of expense and inconvenience. By the way I'm a woman. read more

Just go ahead and pay the same at the dealership, get the loaner from the dealer, don't have their trash left in your car, and don't wait a week for a call with any update at all. Not sure how they got 7 good reviews. This was *literally* the worst experience I've had. I now have a new sound that was never there before taking my car to them, and the sound that was "fixed" with spacers is still there. There's no way they test drove it either or they would've easily heard what I wanted fixed. Just save yourself some time and negligence on your car, and pay the same at the dealer knowing they'll get to the bottom of something. read more

I got a tune on my Audi and 10 minutes later my car cut out and the automatic clutch wouldn't catch or something along those lines and so I had to give them a call back. A few minutes later they had two cars out there behind me to try and trouble shoot. Unfortunately the codes my car was throwing were things that had to be further looked at but one of their employees stayed out on the road with us until the tow truck came out and towed my car back to the shop. Within a couple days they had my car running and boy does it feel better than ever. These guys know what they're doing and don't mess around. They'll keep going until they find the problem and fix it. If you have an Audi or VW and you have problems please go to these guys. They will relieve all the stress of a broken car and make sure you get back on the road. Everyone at apex tuning is incredibly nice and make you feel like you know exactly what's going on too and don't leave you in the dark. The last few days Apex Tuning went above and beyond the Call of Duty to fix my car and I couldn't be more thankful for these guys. My experience at Apex Tuning was 100x better than my experience with the service department at Leith VW of Cary. I showed up, just to see if they were able to serve my TDI and they ended up having an opening in their schedule. I met two of the three owners (Gerich and Kevin) and both of them were very nice and personable. Once my vehicle was in the shop, Gerich showed me each step of my vehicle's service, and not once did I get an upsell that was intimidating or insulting to my intelligence. I was happy with the service, and I will be planning to go to Apex Tuning for all of my vehicle's needs. read more

My experience at Apex Tuning could not have been worse. Beware of unethical businesses and business owners! I went to do a pre-sale check-up for my car and Apex Tuning stole the car sale. The owner of Apex Tuning came to the buyer once we had shaken hands and agreed on the price and took her to a separate room. There he told her my car was fine (she had seen the report so she was aware of the work that had to be done) but his cars were better, and asked her to not buy my car and to stay after I had left in order for him to show her his cars. Unbelievably unethical, wouldn't you say? Not in a million years would I have expected a body shop owner to steal a car sale! read more

I am actually the potential buyer that Vivian Z. was referring to in her post on 5/27/15. I am sorry that you are disappointed with the outcome of the potential sale. Based on the Kelly Blue book value ($2,500), the visual condition of the car, the service lights that were on (ABS and airbag), and the results of the presale inspection ($2,461 in repairs needed), your asking price was just too high. It is true that after we shook on the sale, I did ask the owners if I could drive the car out of state, and you were aware that I was going to ask them that. This was an important factor for me since I would have to drive the car 5hr to another state to register it, and then another 10hrs to visit my parents. He honestly told me that at minimum I would have to replace the timing belt, fix the suspension, and replace the seat belt sensor (so the airbag would work), before I could drive the car a long distance. Those alone would cost me a minimum of $1750, way too much to spend to fix a a car only worth $2500, given there were other items that needed repairing. I appreciated his honest assessment and feedback about the car. And given that I have some knowledge cars, I know that he was not telling me lies. Even my friend who came with me earlier said the asking price, and the price I was eventually going to buy the car for was too much. As Kevin stated in his reply, the car he showed me was sold. But he was just making me aware of other options for cars and educating me on the type of car that would be good for me based on my budget. I really appreciated the service and courtesy that was extended to me by Apex Tuning on such short notice. I would have NO PROBLEM taking any future car that I buy (as I am still looking at the time of this post) to their shop to be evaluated, and if needed, worked on. I am truly sorry you are displeased with the outcome of the sale. But in the end, with the amount of issues the car had and the value of the car, your asking price was just too high. read more
