I was with Sanipac for 12 years, at this same location. Until I started getting hassled by someone in SANIPAC's billing department. I had 12 years problem free, then this woman, that is in the same Facebook groups as I am, starts hassling me over my bill, like I had never seen in 12 years. Only issue I had with Apex is that my can was not getting emptied fully. I learned to put the heaviest garbage on the bottom of my can, and they gave me an extra bag pick up, free. I did have to adjust for their equipment, but it has been smooth sailing with Apex for years. No street activists, singling people out for their opinions, working in Apex's billing department. Service has been great since I moved here a few months ago ...Annie on the phone is great....but last week the guy who picks up the red glass bin had a meltdown in front of my home. I guess he doesn't realize that people have cameras. He emptied the bin, then threw it on the ground and used profanity loud enough for the camera to catch it. Nice way for neighbors to wake up. Not sure what that was all about. Will see if it happens again. read more

The fact that I have to hound them to do their job says a lot about this company. For example, driver just decides to skip our trash but recycling is just fine for that week; call the following day to arrange for pick up and no drivers were able to dispatch (inclement weather warning that cleared up later in the afternoon). Am told that someone will pick up the following Monday, and I call to check that a pick up has been arranged and it hasn't. Communication is terrible, front office staff rarely keeps notes to let others know what is going on, their auto billing system is incorrect and has "somehow forgotten to pull funds" when it was scheduled for withdraw. Save yourself the headache and use a different service. I'll be switching my services here shortly, highly dissatisfied customer. read more

Don't waste your time! I called them to pick up a lawnmower that quit working. They said they would pick it up and dispose of it for $30.00, as long as the oil and gas was drained. I emptied the gas and oil as instructed and placed the lawnmower on the grass as instructed. I came home from work and the damn thing was still sitting there. I called them and the receptionist told me she tried to call my number and my number was not in service..I've had the same number for over 10 years and called her on it. She told me my lawnmower was full of gas and oil, and the guy couldn't dispose of it. The lawnmower was never moved from it's spot and none of my neighbors saw anyone come by. The agreed to refund $5.00 and I had to eat the $25.00. Go onto craigslist, there is people who buy lawnmowers. Do give your money to these yahoos! read more

I use Lane Apex as my weekly garbage service in the South Hills in Eugene, Oregon. The thing that impresses me the most are the drivers and their helpful and friendly attitudes. LITERALLY THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!! Horrible customer service!! They hire alcoholic thief's as drivers, they skip your trash then charge you to come back, I had to call dozens of times watching the driver drive right past my house, the office staff hung up on me! I left them and went to another company, they billed me next month after I canceled I told them I wasn't using their service why would I pay. I heard nothing from them then 7 months later I got a call from a collection agency for $60, also their truck malfunctioned and blew dozens of gallons of antifreeze all over my driveway and street they just converted a 15' x 20' area with sand and left! read more

I really wish their were other services out there for garbage pick up. These drivers drive down the street not caring if your getting ready to back up or getting ready to turn. I guess bigger the truck means they own the road. The drivers literally throw anything that's not recyclable on the ground. (Makes a lot of sense) then toss the recycling bins on the ground, our bin is cracked in five places and half the time the bin is still full. I can't believe these people work for sanitary services. They obviously don't care about the trash they throw around, the planet because now they limit so much you can actually recycle and if you do recycle something not in the "new list" they fine you. Strange! These employees need to be way more aware of the neighborhoods they work in as well as the speed they drive since collecting trash isn't their major priority. In closing I absolutely love going to pick up the trash they leave behind because I don't want so little neighborhood to pick it up. read more

Their pickup times are reliably followed. Extra bin pricing is competitive. However, their billing process is not as transparent as it could be -- nowhere do statements say that you have 30 days after the due date to pay on time (an unconventional process). Additionally, transparency is lacking with regards to rescheduled pickup days during a holiday week; they fail to clarify that this only applies to weekday holidays. I plan to look for an alternative waste removal service. read more

I just set up for pickup service at our new home, so as of yet, my review is only based the customer service I've experienced so far and not the actual service. That said, Lane Apex has made a great initial impression! I called their office twice, speaking with two different reps (Annie and Taylor) to first get info and pricing, and then to set up my new account. Each person was extremely helpful, pleasant to talk to and competent--something you don't always get with companies like this. Our new bins will be dropped off within one business day, much faster than expected! I'll update my review if my experience changes, for better or for worse. For now, I'm happy to have found Lane Apex. They consistently have better online reviews that the two other Eugene area providers I searched, and already I can see why. read more

These guys suck. Forget my pickups, charge me for contaminated recycling when I'm diligent about it then send me a condescending letter explaining the charges. I guess that's why we pay $50 a month. To have trashman take inventory of my recycling and have sassy clerical workers type personal letters to try to justify why I'm being ripped off. Oh, also, the new recycling policy is BS. Go any other state in the country and you can mingle all the plastics you want along with the glass. For claiming to be green Oregon sure does make it hard to recycle. My advice is to save the time and fines and forego the recycling and just put everything in the trash. read more

This company truly lacks the value of customer service. I live up in the south hills and during this during this snow we got around Christmas their truck couldn't make it up here. I understand that for safety of their drivers and for pedestrians and whatever that they don't make an attempt to come up the hills, even though fed ex and UPS were able to after the roads were plowed. Fast forward, yard debris, garbage and recycling weren't picked up so I assumed they would do the route the following week so I left everything out for them. They collected everything but the yard debris. When I called, I was told I could put branches and leaves into a plastic garbage bag and leave it out a week later for pick up. That is impractical and silly. The bag would be torn in a minute. I just don't understand why lane apex is so incapable of sending out a truck using backup staff drivers or pay a few overtime to make up for their inadequacy. This is unacceptable. You don't find this laissez-faire way do doing business in any other sectors or in other cities. It's only here in Eugene! read more

RIPOFF ALERT **Warning** If you pay for service, and they pass you up on garbage day, they will gladly charge you ~$8 to pick it up the next day. Customer-no-service is worthless. Spoke with 'Jeni". When I asked for her supervisor she told me the customer service supervisor "jack" is rarely in the office, then refused to connect me to his voicemail, refused to give me a direct phone number to reach him, then refused to give me his email address! Suggestion: Dear "Jack", you really should spend a little time in the office. This was a very simple issue to resolve. Jeni escalated this to some kind of test-of-will contest. I simply wanted the service I rightfully paid for. *For the record: my account was PAID IN FULL with ZERO BALANCE. The truck passed my can, I called the office to request they come back, that's it. Further, Jeni refused to have them retrieve and empty my can as they pick up the can across the street. She then demanded ~$8 fee to send a truck by the next day. Perhaps Jeni should do a cost-benefit analysis of that extra trip? Bottom line: I paid for service, did not receive service, then Customer-no-service tried to shake me down for more money = RIPOFF Shame on you Update: Today I fired Lane Apex. :) read more

A+ customer service. I did not move the bins to the curb as I thought it was a holiday and they won't pick up. It was way past the pick up time when I realized my mistake. I go outside the house and I see my bin is on the curb without any trash inside. The only explanation I can think of is that the garbage truck driver stopped and emptied my bin even if it was not on the curb! read more

I'm on a weekly schedule, and the one time there was a pickup issue (the yard waste & recycling got picked up, but not the trash), I was able to call the next morning & they re-dispatched the trash truck to fix the pickup issue. :) I'm a very satisfied customer, and love doing business with a local family-owned business. read more

I'm not who usually complains but my experience with them has been most frustrating. I was told this Spring I had a $100.00+ credit and it would refunded when I discontinued my service. I discontinued my service in June and have been waiting ever since for my return. I was told it was in the mail repeatedly when I called to check, only to find it was never written. Lane Apex called me a few weeks ago to let me know that they were going to be replacing my damaged garbage cart. After the cart was replaced, our family noticed that it was markedly larger than the one that they had taken away. So, I checked my billing statement only to find that for the last 6 months, I had been paying for a large garbage cart, and using a smaller one. I called Lane Apex about the issue and possibly get an adjustment on my bill. The receptionist argued with me, consistently talked over me, and said that they would have to check with the actual guy that switched out the carts - basically giving me the run-around. So yeah, their customer service leaves much to be desired. This was just the last straw with us. Very suprised to wake up to them picking up trash on MLK holiday. The schools were closed, the banks were closed, and all trash service was suspended for the holiday....except for Lane Apex. From my upstairs window, I could see neighbors running outside in their robes - frantically trying to get their trash bins to the curb as the Lane Apex truck thundered into our cul-de-sac. One would think that they would work harder at retaining customers because of the long list of trash removal services (competitors) available in this county. When I called to switch to Sanipac today, they quoted me less than I am presently paying to Lane Apex. So, Lane Apex isn't even the most modestly priced. Only 2 other households in our cul-de-sac use Lane Apex. I think I might talk to them and get them to change services as well. That way, one truck will come once a week instead of 2 trucks from 2 different trash service companies waking up everyone twice a week. Simply put: Lane Apex is an EPIC FAIL! I thought a local company would take some pride in their service, but I assume this is not the case with Lane/Apex. I have have at this time only had service with them for six weeks; four of those weeks either the trash or recycling wasn't picked up. Yes it is true that you can speak to someone most of the time during business hours about being missed, but when your "scheduled" pick up is on a Friday, what do you do, leave your cans is the street all weekend? Maybe I should call the day before pickup to remind them that I have paid in advance for their service. read more

I just moved into a house that requires that I pay my own garbage bill. I wasn't sure who to go through, I heard two bad things about sanipac and that both of those people switched to Lane Apex so I decided to go for it. I had no idea what was even required in setting it up. Do I buy a trash can? Do I rent it? Whomever I talked to earlier today, I didn't catch her name, she was so amazing. Very nice, and helpful didn't treat me like I was an idiot for not knowing how it worked. Quickly took all of my information, informed me of my options for paying. changing sizes of cans, and my account information and even made a note to call me when I have my login information. We've been with Lane Apex for a couple years. Today was a good example of great service. We had enough garden recycle to fill four containers, but we only have two. After the first collection was made this morning, my wife called and asked if we could arrange another pickup before our next scheduled time in two weeks.. Not only was the answer "yes", but they were able to reroute one of their trucks so they picked up the second load on the same day for a very modest additional fee. Unlike those disatisfied customers, we love this company. Pickup has been missed a couple of times over the past decades of service but they have picked up the next day with no problem and no ectra fee. Sanipac is the company that leaves trash on the ground that ends up blowing all over the street and doesn't even make sure the bins are completely empty. Sanipac wouldn't get out of the truck for any reason but Lane Apex has no problem doing what needs to be done to get the job done right. I have had no significant problems with service from Lane Apex, and in fact switched from the "big guys" due to problems with their service. The cost is slightly better in my area as well. I did have one unfortunate run-in with a receptionist who just wanted me off the phone. Everyone else at the company has been helpful and friendly. I'd like to stick up for them. They've handled my garbage very farely, and helpfully since 2003 when I moved to Irving road. They are always friendly and helpful and have taken extra trips when I've been the one who forgot to put the garbage out! They also give a discount for recyles. read more

I left Sanipac after years with them for repeated poor service and argumentative phone reps. Lane Apex has been consistent, they are friendly and wave when they come by and I have had nothing but good phone service when requesting new yard bins. I have talked 2 neighbors into going with them as well. It doesn't hurt to put the bins out a day earlier for holiday pick up if your not sure. Or, check the website for holidays. read more
