I found Junkluggers on Yelp and they were absolutely FABULOUS to work with! I was able to set up an appointment online, and they quickly followed up with an email to confirm. I also spoke to them on the phone to triple confirm that this job could be done remotely and that we could handle payment over the phone. They were more than happy to accommodate. When the appointment day/time arrived, Dakota from Junkluggers called to let me know they were on their way to the storage unit, then called me from the unit to let me know they'd been able to access it and to give me a quote based on its contents. He then called me back about 15-20 minutes later to let me know the job was done, and took my payment over the phone. Within a few minutes, their receipt was in my email and the job was done! I cannot stress how difficult it was to find someone willing to do this job, and how happy I was to finally connect with a reliable, dependable, professional company like Junkluggers after having talked to so many companies who were the exact opposite. Royal Refuse feels like a "you get what you pay for" sort of deal. They're the smallest and…read morecheapest trash company in town, but that means that you're, unfortunately, not going to get the same service and reliability as their larger competitors, especially if you're in an area where they have a lower presence. I live in north of the Events Center, and have had their service for 6 months. In that time, they've missed service twice. The first time was entirely their fault, and the second was because the city had blocked the road from one side while doing roadwork. With a larger company I probably would have received notice and/or they would have attempted the following day (I left my cans out an additional day just in case), but that wasn't the case with RR. I called them after the first missed service. They were appropriately apologetic and sent a truck out to pick up my trash the next day. Since I had room in my cans, I didn't bother calling in after the second miss. Ultimately, I understand other people's grievances against RR. I'm just a homeowner with a little trash that I want handled each week, and I was looking to save a few bucks each month. If you're looking to save a little money, are willing to put up with slightly less consistent service, and want to support a smaller local business, you can't go wrong with Royal Refuse.

I had 12 years problem free, then this woman, that is in the same Facebook groups as I am, starts hassling me over my bill, like I had never seen in 12 years. Only issue I had with Apex is that my can was not getting emptied fully. I learned to put the heaviest garbage on the bottom of my can, and they gave me an extra bag pick up, free. I did have to adjust for their equipment, but it has been smooth sailing with Apex for years. No street activists, singling people out for their opinions, working in Apex's billing department.
