We have lived in our home for 12 years and were looking for a reliable contractor to remodel our entire home. We plan to be in this home for a long time and really needed someone who would show the care and attention to our home. We interviewed several contractors and Joe with CB Homes matched our communication style and genuine care for the work performed. We planned to move out of our home due to the large scope of the project and needed someone we could trust and rely on without us being inside the house. Joe proved to be reliable and trustworthy. He showed up when he said he would and if he needed to adjust scheduling he communicated clearly and worked with us. He was excellent at managing the many different elements and phases of the project to keep us involved in the key decision making while keeping the project on schedule. Many people told us no way the project would be complete by our 3 month target but we were able to move back home exactly when we planned to. I recently moved and purchased a condo in the Sacramento area and was referred to HomeX by the real…read moreestate agent who assisted me in buying the property. The condo was built in the nineteen eighties and showed its true age. The kitchen and master bathroom countertops, sink, bathroom flooring, tub and fixtures were outdated and needed some sprucing up. I met with the owner of Homex (Ben) and discussed the remodeling ideas I had . After agreeing on the work to be done and signing the contract, work began 5 days later. The bathroom was totally gutted with the tub being removed, new walk-in shower, vanity, hardware, sink, countertop, commode, lighting, and flooring put in. In addition, the kitchen countertop and sink replaced as well as backsplash added. To say I'm pleased with the work the Homex staff completed and the final remodeling outcome is an understatement. I couldn't be more pleased. In the future I plan on having the kitchen cabinets resurfaced and will definitely hire Homex to do the cabinet resurfacing.

My landlord hired Handyman Contractor to replace a door on the garage that had a lot of dry rot…read more The handyman that did the work was a nice enough guy but his work is questionable. Main job was to replace the door and areas of dry rot. As you will see in the photos the dry rot was replaced, only to leave more places open for dry rot to occur. What's I see wrong. 1. No caulking in open and exposed fixed areas. 2. Screws sticking through the 2x4 next to a window causing a hazard. 3.uneven trim boards on the outside. 4. Left the dead bolt out of the job. 5. Used indoor trim to fix an outdoor job. Placed a 2x4 to close in the gap between the ground and the door with no metal flashing to protect the wood from water. See photos. But here is the kicker. I am an older woman in the customer service industry and just because I am an older woman doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about a thing or two. When the Handyman was about to leave I noticed the gate wouldn't close because it was hitting the bottom of the downspout. I mentioned it to him and his reply was astounding. Well, he said. " The roofer should have done something better with the at downspout." I said, "the gate shut just fine before you started working. It looks like to me, you didn't screw that gate mounting hook in far enough when you replaced it, in order for the gate to close properly." He agreed with me and gave me the instructions on how to remove the gate to screw the hook in farther and then left the scene. Yes, I did remove the gate, rotated the screw one turn and amazingly the gate cleared the downspout. Poor customer service. My Landlord was unhappy with the job as well and hired a different company to redo the entire job correctly costing Her double the money. Unacceptable. No rating Yelp required at least 1star.

Estimate was very fair and what I really appreciated is that they delivered on their promises. I never once felt like there was going to be a catch or an upsell. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know everyone that came to do the work and they were extremely professional. For an invasive job such as this they did a great job minimizing the disruption. Clean up afterwards was really thorough. If (IF) I was to find any flaw in the experience it would be that communication was not 100% perfect throughout, but it was really nothing major at all. They manage big projects all the time and I just had to learn to relax and trust that they knew what they were doing. The quality of their work was top notch and in the end they made a big (ger) job go as smooth as possible. I genuinely look forward to working with Caldwell Construction again in the very near future!!!
