I contacted Central Builders for several projects…read more- new fencing for a 1/2 acre lot, a new deck, a new front walkway and a sump pump to stop our garage from flooding. The fencing bid was in line with the others I received but two of my three neighbors are refusing to replace the downed fences so that project did not move forward. I will write a second review for the new walkway and sump pump because this deck review is pretty long! The deck project - I had already had someone remove the old deck so Vic and his crew were setting the foundation and installing a new Trex deck. Vic went the extra mile in meeting my requests and multiple rebids and change requests before even getting the job. Excellent customer service before I was a customer. I had three other bids that were all at a much higher cost. After going to the lumber yard to see samples of the Trex boards and to select my color, I decided to upgrade the materials to the best and highest Trex boards. I cannot for the life of me figure out why the other bidders were so high. They bid the 2nd to lowest level Trex boards and then they nearly doubled the supply cost. Central Builders had a very reasonable mark up on the boards, especially considering they had to order it, pick it up and deliver it all to my location. The crew arrived on time every day. Kept the work area clean. Kept me informed throughout the process and started and finished when promised. They took extra care to make sure the deck was level and added an extra support for a very heavy plant pot that would be going in the rear corner. The job included adding LED lighting to the steps and accommodating my under house vents by cutting ventilation in to the deck supports. I had asked that the front of the deck be sealed in a way that would prevent skunks from getting under it. The crew not only added a wire mesh barrier under the facia board, they painted it black so it would blend in and not be obvious. And last but not least, in t he pictures, note the downspout to the deck. Vic altered and bought a proper end spout so we can attach a hose in the winter to redirect the water so we don't get moisture under the deck. Going the extra mile. Super happy with how this project went!!! I highly recommend Central Builders!

We chose Vostok Construction to remodel our primary bathroom/bedroom that had lots of water damage. We knew that it would be a big job (needed new subfloor and floor joists and studs in one wall) and they took care of us. They were very careful to make sure their mess didn't get anywhere outside of the job site, took their time to make the finishes look just right, and were courteous and kind to myself and my kids. And Igor's tiling is absolutely stunning. I have high standards for finishes and I cannot find a flaw in our tile--he's that good. Eric and Alex were super helpful with seeing our vision and explaining what would be cost effective but also functional. I never felt like either of them pushed me to do something I didn't want (and as a people pleaser, that's hard!). The job had a couple of rough spots (bad plumbing from the previous contractor, and a paint color mixup etc.) but each time there was an issue, the communication was clear and they let us know what needed to be done. They were patient when we realized our faucets and other metal finishes weren't matching and did their best to help us find what we needed. They finished the job in the timeframe they quoted us even with some hiccups along the way. I would 100% recommend Vostok Construction (and I have to some friends!). I hope to use them again in the near future for some more bathrooms and a living room overhaul.

Kent, Shannon, Nick, Marco, Sergio - the team is really good. Kent is smart, experienced, enjoyable to work with and has unquestioned integrity. I think it's more important to him to do a handful of projects really well rather than many of them just satisfactorily. Shannon is a great project manager and respectful, courteous and friendly. Nick - well Nick is amazing - we miss having him around. Even my shy toddler started looking forward to seeing 'Mr. Nick' and he made my 70-something mother feel so comfortable, which really mattered since we were building her in-law. Marco and Sergio are likewise knowledgeable, skilled and fun to chat with. They also give great advice. The team aside, the addition they did for us is excellent. I have no regrets, would recommend them unreservedly and have continued to use them for smaller projects. And he showed me what was possible in my kitchen. While we lived there. And without tax reassessment (!!). He explained his process: Plan, Pick and Work. (All your appliances, finishes and fixtures are picked before he starts. It was tough, but I did it while working full time.) And he gave me the timeline. Did his guys follow the timeline? YES! There were a few days that came up because - surprise I had 4 layers of historic flooring in my kitchen - but they'd amp it up, bring more staff and #boom, done! Was the staff nice? FUCK YEAH! I loved those guys. Kent's nice and all, but his staff is BOMB. Sweet, kind, friendly, helpful, respectful, clean. (And they love popsicles, so buy them some!) Was it more money than I expected? Yes. But it is more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed. If you're not nice, don't call them. The guys work their tails off... They were like friends in my house for 3 months. Art and his crew ALWAYS showed as scheduled, working full days, and always clearly communicating daily progress. Art and his crew were hard-working, respectful, and clearly dedicated to doing quality work. It was refreshing to work with a contractor who takes such pride in his craft and whose team follows his example. We always knew what was happening and what the next steps would be. I have worked with contractors in the past where this was not the case, so having Art and his crew do this work for us was almost like a blessing. The quality of the workmanship was impeccable. Art and his crew had to do demolition to remove EVERYTHING all the way down to the dirt, and then completely rebuild the space from the ground up. The two most important things that I wanted for this bathroom were 1) maximum use of some beautiful green quartzite slabs that I had found and purchased for my bathroom walls and shower, and 2) making sure to retain the original homemade jacuzzi tub that my grandkids use as a "monster bubble bath". The finished result is absolutely stunning. The new bathroom features beautiful quartzite slab walls and shower, tiled floors, brushed gold fixtures, a gorgeous wood vanity with a large mirror, a matching linen cabinet, and a wall cabinet. It truly feels like the bathroom of our dreams. Best of all, Art not only managed to figure out the antiquated Jacuzzi system, that he also improved it so that it is bigger and better than ever. Beyond his technical skills, Art is simply a genuinely just a very nice person - polite, courteous, respectful and thoughtful. Art also takes full responsibility for his team and ensures they maintain the same high standards that he does. Another thing we appreciated was how clean and organized the job site was. At the end of each day, Art and his team always made sure to leave things neat and tidy. There was never trash or debris left behind. The before-and-after pictures I am attaching are amazing but honestly, the photos still do not fully capture how truly beautiful the finished bathroom really is.
