They must have…read morebeen mainly upgrading the infrastructure because I don't see any real physical evidence of remodeling. There is plenty of parking & a quiet room for ADD & special needs folks with spinners etc. I love almost all the librarians with one notable exception who shall remain nameless but I'm told she gets lots of complaints. The internet isn't as strong as I think it should be for the amount of people who use it! I do appreciate that the librarians have tables set up with their favorite books. I do wish they would go back to the old days where quiet was observed but the Apex library is better about that I've found. I wish wake county libraries would have DVD's the way Durham libraries do.

This country is really messed up in the people living here don't even realize half of it because they haven't experienced things elsewhere. I would rather drive 30 miles out of my way than to have to encounter the apex staff. If you need a pen, a marker, a piece of tape to make a correction you better keep supplies in your vehicle because again they can't be bothered even when what you need is right there in front of them. Supplies that our tax payer dollars also pay for. Customer service and kindness go a long way. Part of that staff needs to be released from their positions and hire someone who appreciates their job.

After reading all the reviews, I was pretty anxious about going to the DMV. I had made an appt for…read moreSept but canceled after seeing so many people say that they were made to wait outside in the heat. I rescheduled for 730am Nov 1st and it was freezing outside, but I had a very good experience overall. A couple tips I wanted to share that I haven't yet seen on the reviews. If you have an appointment, go inside right away and check in with the desk so you can get a number. I arrived at 7:15 and was told by one employee to simply have a seat and I'd be called at my appt time. My appt time came and went and over a dozen walkins were brought in during that time. At 7:35, I checked in at the desk and was told that I should've done that already as soon as I arrived. My paperwork was verified and I was given a ticket. I received a text with my ticket number as well. I was prepared to wait forever since I hadn't checked in immediately. Thankfully, my number was called almost immediately at 7:40. The clerk was very pleasant and friendly. I was out by 8 with my new drivers license, less than an hour after arrival. I can't stress this enough, but it really pays to be friendly and polite. I smiled at everyone and they were all courteous in return. If you don't speak English, please make sure you know what you need because the employees only speak English and had a tough time understanding those who did not. A translator will not be provided. My last warning: the employees were extremely communicative and gave updates every few minutes. They told us all that the kids were out of school today so many of them wanted to take their road test and the wait would be 3-5 hours. You must make an appointment if you don't want to wait forever. They also told us that if we got tired or cranky that we should just leave. Parents were also asked to wait in their cars and not inside with their teen in order to allow more chairs for other patrons. I moved from out of state and already had a RealID so I brought my SS card, drivers license, water bill, electric bill, and car insurance verification. These were all required and worked out for me. I took the vision test and there were 20 road signs on the test that I had to read out. The first 16 are normal signs but the last 4 are completely blank and you just have to recognize the shape, which is really confusing. Some are obvious like a stop sign, but I didn't recognize the shape of a "no passing zone" sign. It was the only one I missed so not a big deal but just a heads up. Study the signs while you're waiting. They have printouts at the front desk. I'll add more tips if I think of them. I was prepared to wait for hours even with an appointment and I was pleasantly surprised.

They tell you not to get there any earlier than 15 before your appointment- don't believe it because they will take everyone else as a walk in that got there before you. Once they take your documents they send you back OUTSIDE to wait while they take all the walk ins, which is actually inhumane in this heat. Honestly, I had no idea what a USPS CPU was until earlier today when I was looking for a location…read morecloser to my digs in Cary that WASN'T the turrrrible location on Wrenn. As it turns out, a CPU is a Contract Postal Unit which carries its own set of requirements, one of which (and perhaps the most important) is that they cannot charge any more than a "regular" USPS location. Onwards: Location: 4 out of 5 About a 7 minute drive from my place. This CPU is located inside the Mobil Gas station (Radha Mart II) at the corner of Davis and Old Jenks. Incidentally, there are some restaurants (Chippy and the coffee place) as well as gas in close proximity in case you want to make an afternoon of it. Free parking dedicated for Mobil station customers awaits! Services offered: 4.5 out of 5 Commensurate with a full service postal office, except for maybe passport services. Notably, they have the counter where you can pick your Priority Mail boxes, envelopes, padded envelopes, etc. for both domestic and international mailing. Customer Service: 4 out of 5 Instead of being manned by Postal Service employees, the employees of the Mobile gas station are the ones that assist with your mailing needs. There was a newer guy who looked like he had just been hired at the station who was still learning the ropes of processing my padded envelope, so I'll give him a pass. The guy who I suspect is the owner/manager was of humorous and almost prototypical Indian subcontinent descent. Helped me to pick out a smaller padded envelope than I initially thought I might need (thereby saving me money), and when he saw me struggling with putting my item in, he took it from me and proceeded to do it himself, delegating me to more menial tasks like filling out the address form. Ha! This sort of brusque but efficient customer service may be offputting to some, but in a way, if you pretend like you don't know what you're doing, you basically get full service help for free. ;) Value: 5 out of 5 The postal service still offers the most reasonable rates if things aren't entirely time critical. Whereas my product would have cost 7$ via UPS ground to arrive mid week next week, the same product cost 7.05 to be shipped PM to arrive by Monday. Overall: 4 out of 5 I didn't have to wait in line, the guy was friendly and helpful, and I was in and out in about 3 minutes after I figured out where the supplies were (look to your left when you enter the store). Also - pickup for mail and packages occurs between 5:30 and 5:45 which isn't that bad.
