I am sadly reading the above comments and i am confused at them. I would like to say a few words . I am a parent of gymnast who has been to many gyms . At Chris H- the owners are the kindest human beings and BEST coaches our daughter has ever had. Its not correct to say they are taking credit for work they didn't do. Of course we developed basics at other places but for the last 3 years our daughter has dramatically improved because of The Apex coaching . The owner- Rob is the best coach she has ever had. You do not see what Apex receives with the new girl when they come from these places sir with respect. They come in mentally a disaster & ready to quit and that owner who you call a joke - is the most kind, ethical and incredible coach that rebuilds them not only physically but the most important part is mentally. He does all the work correcting the damage that was done to them. Most are broken when Rob gets them. Do not laugh at the college banners - trust me- Ive been here - it is all Apex. They do not exploit anyone sir. Ive never been to a better place for my daughter then Apex . At Scotty- the owner says truths that often parents are unable to hear. That is what makes him exceptional . He speaks truths so if you want to hear your child is what they are not or you are not able to hear steps that need to be taken to help your athlete- trust me he doesn't want a penny. Apex is the only gym that does not take the money. Gymnastics is not only physical that yes many of us came from other places but along with the change - Apex like i said received damaged and broken kids and with bad form and shapes - and Rob must spend years fixing it . Tedious work that should have happened in level 3 - he is the biggest cheerleader in level 10- patiently helping your child develop that skill. Other gyms do not allow this - they lower you. they will remove you from a level and demote you . Rob and the entire apex staff encourage this battle and save our children . I call my child saved at Apex so it offends me that you bash them. I am one of the ones who went to many gyms and what Rob and Amanda have done in the years we have been there has been life altering for her in every way . He teaches our daughters that's its not all all about gymnastics . Life lessons sir. At Kathleen - i was sad to see your comment . Please excuse Apex but they own the gym not the bathroom. The complex they are in has full control over that area - including the bathroom. I am sure if you could have asked anyone that worked there if toilet paper was missing or the garbage is a mess , anyone would have helped . This is definitely something that can easily be spoken to their management about . If you were packed - chances are its because the meet was filled which is great for the athletes . Id like to say in due respect that the scores always come out after the next person competes so if it appeared slow they have to wait until the next person competes . My daughter has been doing gymnastics for 15 years now, Apex is the 4th gym that she's represented as a competitive gymnast and she's so proud to have Apex listed as her home gym as she transitions to college gymnastics. From a high level competition standpoint, Apex is by far the best. The owner and coaches take so much pride insuring that the gymnasts are getting quality coaching, but also that they are taking good care of their bodies. They have a massage therapist and a chiropractor available on site and won't hesitate to write out a specific shopping list for the right food to fuel a gymnasts body! They make their gymnasts snack throughout practice to make sure their bodies have energy. Their facilities include foam pits and soft landings for all 4 events too. This instills some awesome confidence in high level skills and prevents their bodies from being pounded on everyday. The coaches are constantly attending training events to stay current on coaching techniques and new rules too. As far as college recruiting is concerned, the coaches have developed some amazing relationships with college coaches. This is essential! College coaches from all over the US visit apex during practices and apex has one of the largest college showcases in terms of coach attendance. So much effort is put into providing future opportunities for all levels of gymnasts. And the most important is that the gym is a POSITIVE environment! The gymnasts cheer each other on and are encouraged to motivate each other to be awesome! From a recreational gymnastics point of view, if your child is a beginner, they will be coached by well trained adults instead of a high school kid who has done some cheerleading. I cant lie, gymnastics is expensive, so it's nice to know that even as a beginner, your gymnast is taught proper techniques and is properly spotted by coaches who have years of coaching experience, or have been high level gymnasts themselves. The same pride that goes into coaching the team kids, is also found at the lowest level! There is also a large population of boys and a boys team!! The front desk staff is so organized and friendly and they work hard making sure the gymnasts are enjoying their time in the gym too. There isn't a fancy viewing room, and no cartoons on any TVs, but there are plenty of available viewing windows to see every corner of the gym. The gym also has AC during those sticky summer days, and isn't freezing in the winter. I highly recommend Apex to anyone interested in gymnastics but I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to be on a gymnastics team. Between USAG, IGC and the Boys team, there is pretty much a spot for anyone who wants to compete for an amazing team! read more

My daughter is a Level 10 gymnast and has been at Apex for a little over 2 years now. When we moved to Apex we were met with open arms and immediately became part of the family. The coaches are amazing and work tirelessly to train and prepare the gymnasts. Their depth of knowledge of the sport is unmatched on Long Island. In addition to teaching skills and form, they continuously work on conditioning and strengthening to keep the gymnasts safe and strong. The facilities are terrific with everything the gymnast needs for the highest level of training. My daughter just committed to a full athletic scholarship at a Division I college thanks to her training at Apex and the amazing networking that they do. In addition to the annual College Showcase, Apex also regularly hosts top college coaches to help get the gymnasts seen and recruited. My daughter started at Apex when she was 13. We had come from less competitive gyms and she was nervous. The work was more but the payoff was even greater. Immediately Rob made corrections in her form, increased her strength and amped up all her skills. Not going to lie, she didn't always love it, as most upper level gymnasts struggle with a balance in their lives. But now she is able to go to college with a substantial scholarship thanks to what she accomplished as an Apex athlete. That's their goal for these kids. Keep their head in the game, build skills, prevent injury...college. Amanda is constantly networking with schools and top coaches around the country. This gym is making its mark in the gymnastics community. The coaches build winners, the girls build a family and lifelong friendships. There really is no place like it in the region. What can I say about Apex? We came here over a year ago and they welcomed us with open arms. They have a clean large facility that is welcoming to all. The front office staff are amazing and so helpful. You will be greeted with a "Hello" whenever you enter. I have 2 girls on team and have been to other local gyms in our 9 years competing and I can say they are the most organized with all things team. My girls have grown tremendously and have been supported immensely through injury and the comeback . The awesome coaching staff puts the girls safety as their top priority. I think their most notable feature is the diversity in coaches and styles which helps my girls since there is no one size fits all approach to the sport. They want to help you succeed and grow ! We absolutely love this gym! We moved from another gym for various reasons, and one of the biggest was having an absent owner and lack of communication. At Apex, the owner is involved, hands-on, and very straightforward. Communication is fantastic, and I never feel unsure of what's going on. I also feel completely comfortable asking questions, which says so much about how welcoming they are. The coaches are kind, knowledgeable, and attentive, with a great focus on proper form and execution. They truly care about helping each gymnast reach her potential. The gym offers great opportunities like camps and clinics with college coaches, judges, and clinicians. The office staff is always welcoming and quick to respond. I brought my daughter to Apex Athletics after she tried several other gyms USAG gymnastics programs. It has hands down been the best experience she has had in her 4 years of USAG gymnastics. My daughter has never been happier. The coaches and her teammates are like her second family. The staff get to know & love the kids like their own.
