Decided to stop by since I saw their $1 bean and cheese special and i kind of regret doing so. The food was mostly decent. I ordered a puffy taco plate and the chicken was very bland and the taco falling apart. Rice was also dry and the beans were decent. Overall the dish was okay. The flour tortillas had a plastic texture and didn't feel very homemade. The salsa and small appetizer soup they gave me were good enough. The place has nice decor but lacked atmosphere. Now the three stars is mostly due to the poor service. Our server Peter was very friendly but lacked attentiveness. Empty drinks, dirty plates and lack of napkins throughout our entire visit really ruined our experience. I came here a couple of times as a child and now I understand why my parents never came back here. If I'm being honest I did order a dish that is complicated to make and eat which did lead to me having some issues I mentioned. This place is super affordable if you order the right things. Me and my partner only paid $23 so I'd say it's kind of worth coming here if you're on a budget. Sadly not somewhere I'd come back to.

I've been coming to Apetitos for years. The service and atmosphere have always been great! Today I went through the drive thru and placed my order. I was greeted right away by the waitress who took my order over the intercom and then proceeded to have me drive forward. I ordered 2 tacos and a drink that was just over $10. This is somewhat pricey considering what you get. My order was received a few minutes later. The tortilla was a thin compared to last visits but the taco was pretty stuffed. The tortillas used to be fluffy and larger so I'm not sure if it's a new cook or new recipe. Either way I'll be back when I'm in the neighborhood.

Way to expensive. You can find more affordable options on marbach like Gilbert's or Los compadres.

This place have very good authentic Mexican dishes. However, they still only open for curbside pick up still up till now.

I didn't need extra fat from avocado after the corn cakes since it doesn't add much flavor to the dish. The corn cakes are good and I will order again but not as good as some other cornbread. It came with 2 cakes. One was undercooked and one has a crispy crust. The undercooked one was my favorite. It is more moist with soft in the middle. Tuna Al Pastor has a kick but nothing special. Tres Leches was beautiful. 4/5. I like the fresh fruits to cut down the sweetness. The cake was a bit in the dense side. The icing on top was thick. I wish it was a fluffy whip cream to cut down from all the sweetness. Overall it's still a better tres leches than other places in the area.

They will start you out with chips and salsa and those were really good. The chips are very thick and tasty while the salsa is thick like a mole but very tasty and deep in flavor. So many items on the menu looked good, so I started with the tiki cocktail and a mangonada while deciding what to order. Both drinks were really delicious of course. I decided on the fajita plate and the birria. I thought the fajita was the better of the two dishes, but makes sense since beef is more expensive than goat. The fajitas come with tortillas, but these seemed to be stored bought and not homemade. Beans were very good though. Overall, I was very impressed and would come back again if I was ever in the area.

Good service, great food, and pretty reasonable prices (especially for this neighborhood) are what always makes Tito's a good choice! Their tortilla chips always come out warm and be warned - the salsa has a little bit of a kick to it. For my meal I went with the chicken flautas. They came out 4 to the order with a side of rice and refried beans...neither of the sides were anything to write home about but the flautas were soooo good...Fried to crispy perfection and the chicken seasoned perfectly. If you're looking for a no-frills causal spot to enjoy some delicious Mexican food or a cold drink, don't skip Tito's!

The better half ordered soft tacos that came out looking like enchiladas. Rolled up, smothered in what I can only describe as a crushed tomato sauce. The sauce was flavorful. But they definitely weren't normal soft tacos. Rice was bland as hell, refrieds were ok. I had the mini al carbon tacos. Apparently they forgot to season the meat. Didn't even taste salt on them. The charro beans had good flavor but I had more tomato, onion, and jalapeño than beans. If this is their normal I question how they have stayed in business in a city with amazing Mexican food everywhere. Wouldn't go back except maybe for queso and some drinks(didn't have any so can't comment on that aspect. Hopefully better than the food we had.)

It was a hot Sunday afternoon, so there was no debate about where we wanted to sit. We headed straight for the wonderfully air-conditioned dining room, which provided a welcome break after spending time in the sun during our river cruise. Gabby was our server, and she was fantastic. She was friendly and attentive, took our order right away, and delivered our drinks promptly. What impressed us most was how she kept our drinks refilled without us ever having to ask. Her service was outstanding and made an already enjoyable lunch even better. The food was just as impressive. Our Mexican entrées were delicious and exactly what we needed after a hot afternoon on the River Walk. Between the excellent food, Gabby's attentive service, and the comfortable, modern dining room, Iron Cactus turned out to be the perfect place to relax and recharge. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely return the next time we're in San Antonio. Next time, though, we'd like to come back for dinner and experience Iron Cactus in the evening.
