Along with this, we found a dead black widow, so we decided it was time and had Urban Desert Pest Control come out. The great news was no evidence of roof rats! The even better news was that instead of charging us for placing traps anyway, Urban Desert Pest Control realized that our "pet" squirrels that live in our backyard were probably getting up there to play and placed some filters over vents to prevent the squirrels from getting into the vents. Guess what? Noises went away. Nice to work with a company that focuses on the individual customer instead of implementing a general approach for every single situation.

When…read morewe did our first blacklight searches in our new house, we were horrified to find HUNDREDS of scorpions all over the property!! We read that the scorpions can never be rooted out, and were told by neighbors that scorpions are part of their daily life (a neighbor's daughter had one on her face while sleeping :( ), so we considered selling the house. Then we saw Pest Borders making some big promises, had great reviews, and decided to give it a try (I also killed all the scorpions I could find with a blacklight before install). After installing the border we have had ZERO intrusions for the last year. We had a border placed around our yard on the cinder block wall too, and it has reduced scorpion intrusions from a dozen per day to maybe 2 in the last year (I do have one gate area without a border). I now have no problem letting my kids and dog run around in the yard barefoot, even after dark. Mark, the owner, is a super friendly guy who stands by his product and ensures the job is done right. You see we had just purchased a attached villa (duplex) so when he understood we would be attached to one other home, he stated he could not take our money because he could not guarantee the scorpions would enter the home if the protected barrier would only be on our side of the property, as he so kindly explained they could enter from the neighbors. I felt like he was honest in his recommendations and I felt comfortable with the product that he chose to use would be safe for my young family and pet. Incredible customer service -- and I appreciate that in between visits they will come back out if needed for free to reinspect if you see any bugs. Our first visit was less than $100 so I feel like that's a great value, considering that he walked the entire perimeter of our home with a broom and checked every nook and cranny luckily he only found two spider webs. Had a pre-emergent weed service today and the tech was at my house for 5 minutes tops if anything less than that. I have a huge front yard and backyard. So it should be taking them a lot longer to spray my yards. Having weeds that show no treatment on them nor anywhere around my yard could I see sprayed.
