My initial experience with EyeCare About Eyes started off great. I was able to easily schedule my appointment online. When I went to download the New Patient forms a few days later, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I could do all of the paperwork online, using a secure connection of course. I had a comprehensive eye exam today performed by Dr. Alicia Kim of EyeCare About Eyes. Dr. Kim was very thorough and quick in her exam and she has excellent patient communication skills. @ Drs. Chen & Chen...you need to keep this one if possible. I didn't wait long at all before my exam commenced. Unfortunately, I didn't get the young lady's name who performed some initial screening. She was very personable. The facility was clean and modern. I especially liked the exam chair because it was very comfortable to sit in. Three things I would recommend as areas for improvement. First, replace the plastic chairs with nicer chairs. The plastic chairs aren't very supportive or comfortable and that's coming from someone with spine issues. Second, consider greatly improving your selection of eyeglasses. I would have liked to give you the business for my eyeglasses purchase, but there wasn't enough of a selection for me to make a choice. If you want to see an example of a great selection of eyeglasses, visit Crestwood Optical in Manassas, VA. Last, get rid of the mask policy. I despise having to wear a mask unless I choose to wear one. Bottom line, count me as a continuing customer, at least for eye care needs.

They are amazing because they really take their time and you never feel rushed; you feel like you are the only person in the office. The entire staff is very cordial. The office is modern and the decor is perfectly pleasing and easy on the eyes, pun intended, lol. They take you through different exam rooms, to do your eye tests and to see the docs, and the color and lighting scheme that they use is in every room is perfect. It had been a long time since I'd gotten my eyes checked so I came in and saw Dr. Smith. The office was clean and all the equipment was up-to-date. Dr. Smith was extremely kind and thorough. I know my appointment took longer than most, but she never checked her watch or rushed it in any way. I walked out an hour later with a new prescription for contacts and an order for new glasses. There is another location in Warrenton which supposedly has a better selection of frames but I found ones I really like so I didn't make the drive.

It was something that I had been kicking around because I hadn't been able so see past my nose without glasses or contacts for the last 20+ years. Dr. Goerl, being my regular eye doctor in Herndon, suggested I come see him at his office in Manassas for a consultation. All went well and we set a date for the procedure. When the day finally came Dr Harvan and the nurses couldn't have been better. Since my eyesight was so bad my procedure took a bit longer than most. I was put at ease with the doctor's assurance and the nurses cheering me on. I don't feel like I could have been in more competent hands. It has now been 8 months since my procedure and I can still see perfectly, absolutely no complications. Life without contacts and glasses has been fantastic.

I told them I would pay at the end of my visit as my husband had forgotten my healthcare account card, he was going home to pick it up, but they would not let me see anyone, and I was unaware of this, just waiting, after an hour, I asked when I'd be seen, to this the receptionist replied until you pay you won't be able to see anyone. Meanwhile Dr Nisha casually walks in at 11:15 so she wasn't even at the practice. When I finally spoke with her, she could see I was visibly upset, but she didn't care, she told me if I needed to surgically drain my eyelid (chalazion) she wasn't going to do this, apparently her patients can't tell her what to do, or even what they want done. She told me, I should find someone else. What a waste of time. In my opinion she just wants to milk people and create pointless follow ups, no empathy, just a lot of arrogance, don't waste your time. As a healthcare professionals I deeply care about my patients, collecting payment from them is not my priority, their health and wellbeing is.
