Worked with Cameron. Diagnosed the problem and we worked on strengthening and stabilizing my knee. Realized an improvement early on and after six weeks so much better. Primary care doc said it was arthritis, not much we could do. Wasted over a year on Doctor Internet trying the DIY path. I should have seeked out help sooner. PT gave me a list of exercises to continue on my own and I'll check back if issue returns. Office is nice lots of equipment and staff is nice and knowledgeable. read more

I haven't had the opportunity to use many Physical Therapists but I am so thankful to have found AOS. Due to American River being overbooked they were recommending AOS so that's where I went. Ron's Phd is so helpful in finding the right muscles to stretch and work in order to get back to a normal life. I have been going to AOS Physical Therapy, off and on, for about 3 years for various old sports injuries and from heavy labor in my 20s. As a result, I have circumvented low back surgery and am in very good shape now. These people do targeted and well thought out physical therapy sessions tailored for me which involve tenze, ultra sound, massage and mobility training along with intense weight lifting by a physical therapist. They come up with new exercises each time I come in. Until AOS, I thought that physical therapy was just a ruse by insurance companies to delay surgery (i.e that was my experience with many other physical therapists). In the case of AOS, they are the real deal. Just do what they say! Get as many sessions as you can get. Not only will you get healed, but you will feel better and eventually build up your immune system. read more

I am very pleased with my PT experience here. As a naturopathic doctor myself, and having been to two other PT places in town in the past, I really think this is the best I've encountered. Why? Because Ron is always evaluating your progress personally and pushing you just enough to make your recovery speedy. He is reasonable and encourages you to listen to your body, but doesn't keep you coming back if you don't need it. In other places, I have felt that they would schedule me for 6 visits if the insurance paid for 6 visits, regardless of how my body was doing. I also felt that he only used therapies (ultrasound, ice, etc.) as they were needed, not as a matter of course to pad the bill. Thanks AOS! read more

Ron Smith, owner of Auburn, Orthopedic & Sports Physical therapy, is amazingly knowledgeable and kind. Our daughter's insurance didn't cover physical therapy, but Ron offered to give her one hour of his time, and a list of exercises to strengthen her back, and scoliosis, and his fee was very reasonable. Ron has a full gym of equipment, massage and therapy rooms, and the place is clean and uncluttered. We highly recommend Ron Smith. He cares about people, and their wellness!! read more

Very impressed. I went to AOS for a shoulder injury and they were very helpful. It was easy to make an appointment and when I realized my copay from insurance was high they worked with me to provide extra homework exercises so I didn't have to go as often. I called in four hours prior to my appointment time to cancel, due to my brother's sudden death; he was hit by a drunk driver, while on his daily jog. My next appointment, I was twenty minutes late, as I fell asleep, from exhaustion and overwhelming family matters. I immediatley called and left a voicemail on the office phone. Ron Smith, Owner, called me back and I asked him if I could come in for the remaining thirty minutes of my appointment, he said no, that nothing could be accomplished in thirty miutes. Keep in mind that at my previous appointments, he laid me on a table, put a heating pad on me, hooked up the electrodes for stimulation and left me in the room for twenty minutes. That could have been accomplished; when I asked him for that, again, he said no. I explained to him why I was late, he knew about the death of my brother, he told me that if I missed another appointment he would not treat me any longer. I arrived to the office, as I had a massage appointment, immediately following my appointment with Ron Smith. My massage therapist, Monique, is amazing, I love her; she is a kind and genuine lady with a beautiful soul. When I called Jean, the receptionist, to schedule my next appointments with Ron, she said she would have to check with Ron. I told Jean that I did not appreciate Ron Smith being rude to me and not understanding the reason my appointmtent was missed. Ron Smith called me and said, verbatim..."Cheryl, you and I need to have a little talk. I do not appreciate you treating my staff the way you did, you are not welcome in my office and you are not welcome to get your massages in my office, as well." When I told him I did not treat Jean badly, I did however, tell her that I did not appreciate Ron's rudeness towards me and that it was unprofessional. When I told him again the reason I missed the appointment, that my brother had just been killed, he said, well then, you "should have had the decency to call in, so I could have filled your spot." I did call, I told him. He replied "well, twenty minutes is not enough notice to cancel an appointment" I told him I called the minute I found out about my brother's death, he said it didn't matter. I asked him if he had any compassion, he said "let's just say it isn't a good fit". I hope when one of his beloved family members gets tragically kiilled, suddenly, that he will think of me and how he talked to me. He is selfless and fake; he is all about the money, not the client. read more
