This is my second time in about five years using Rocklin Physical Therapy for help with movement of severe pain in my back and currently my shoulder. I requested that my doctor refer me to this facility again. I find the therapists to be very knowledgeable in deciding what exercises to give me and finding the exact painful spots when massaging my shoulder. I also love the personalities of the staff. All are young and seem to enjoy the career they have chosen. As for the office staff, they too have been very knowledgeable and very easy to work with. I'm 71 and lots of my parts are causing problems and I will continue to visit this facility to get me moving again. read more

I went to this place for over 20 years for a different needs throughout those years. I recently had foot injury, and of course, the first place I thought to go to was Rocklin physical therapy only to be completely disappointed. In my opinion, the therapist didn't really care about my injury. When I told them that the exercise they were having me do aggravated a bad knee that I had she didn't care. She was annoyed at the fact that I was complaining about having a bad knee. She was annoyed and then lost complete interest in doing anything to assist me with my foot .There is no guidance in what I could do to make it stronger and they even made a statement that they're not there to massage people's feet. It just really has gone downhill I recommend going someplace else that's what I did read more

It's no longer the same quality of service. I was dismissed by Lisa when she walked away after my appointment - never saying a word about what I should do next, so I stopped making appointments with them. Communication between the p/t and patient could certainly improve. It would be nice knowing what the protocol is when you get assigned to a p/t before they hand you off to someone else. And they might think about replacing those old pillow cases and towels that are falling apart. I barely wanted to put my head down on a pillow - they were in such bad condition. read more

My husband's recent experience... My first visit with PT Derek for Peroneal Tendonitis was great. My second visit was with a new PT, PT Lisa Ball. She immediately had me cycling on a bike. I told her I thought it was a little extreme for my current state, but she said it was necessary to warm up. I immediately told her I thought it was too much because it was causing pain and numbness. She said it was what my body needed. Then we followed that up with about 30 minutes of strength building, which again I thought was inappropriate. On my first appointment all I did strength wise was 3 sets of 20 toe raises because I had just started moving my feet again. Toward the end, PT Derek walked by as he was leaving. Lisa said, "You can't leave before me. I'm out of here as soon as I am done with this." As a patient, that made me feel like she was just rushing me through and I was just an impediment to her getting off work. At the end of her strength routine my feet were killing me, but she said it was normal. She then said, "I can't open your chart. Did they have you do laser therapy or stim last time." It was right then that I realized she didn't even know what I was there for and hadn't even looked at the prior notes to understand where I was in the recovery process. I told her I had laser therapy. She then told another PT Assistant that I needed laser treatment for Plantar Fasciitis! I then informed the Assistant that I was not there for Plantar Fasciitis and that it was clear PT Lisa Ball hadn't even looked at my file. The Assistant said, "Ah, we will focus on your Peroneal Tendons like last time." I usually don't write reviews, but I am sitting here at 4am and can't sleep because my tendons are aching. This one visit has likely set me back weeks. I don't know if PT Lisa Ball is just lazy or empathetic, but I think it is a mix of both. She clearly cared more about leaving than helping me recover. Proceeding with treatment without being able to review my prior visit notes was extremely unprofessional and unwise. I would avoid ever working with her. read more

It's no surprise to me the Yelp filter screened out the 2 negative reviews for Rocklin Physical Therapy. According to Yelp, the filter is designed to catch suspicious reviews that appear to be from a competitor trying to hurt the reputation of the business. I read both of them and can't understand how someone could honestly arrive at those opinions. I just completed my therapy there, which was twice per week for about 3 months. In addition to feeling a whole heck of a lot better than when I started, I also left with a wealth of information which should help me avoid a similar injury in the future. True, the equipment isn't comprised of gleaming bars of polished steal, LED displays and fancy button consoles. However, it is all clean, well maintained, functional and effective at helping patients recover. With regards to the staff, I noticed none of the alleged problems of punctuality or organization. In all of my visits, I never spent more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. (usually less) A session typically involves a combination of working directly with your therapist and a period of exercise that's supervised by the aides that are present. The aides are extremely attentive....trust me. If I so much as slouched while doing one of the exercises, I was quickly noticed and politely instructed on proper form. If you finish an exercise and don't know which one to do next, odds are good that you only have about 10 seconds before someone notices you and comes to help. I was thoroughly instructed on all of the multitude of exercises that were part of my routine and questions were quickly and completely answered. This was true on every single visit. All of the staff is professional, competent, efficient, and polite. I felt very comfortable asking any of them for help at any time. They all knew me by name within my first couple visits and I always received smiles and warm greetings upon my arrival. It wasn't very long before I started looking forward to my appointments. I was never treated like just another patient. Elisa was my therapist and provided me with exceptional care, perfectly balancing professionalism with friendliness. The aides that helped me through my exercises were Jill, Brynne, Mike, Brandon, and Caitlyn. Wendy, Michelle and the rest of the office staff were also very pleasant to work with. I feel like I made a lot of new friends. All of them will be missed! This is a great group of people who know their business and want to help you feel better. If you need physical therapy and you live in or near Rocklin, you need look no further. read more

I explicitly asked the front office how much I would be charged for their services, and I explicitly told them I did not have the money for hidden charges. They told me it would be $65 for high-deductable appointment. They even gave me used electrodes so I wouldn't be charged extra. GUESS WHO GOT A BILL?!? They charged me my insurance $150 for this appointment- THEY LIED. Now I have paid $65 up front, and now and also on the hook for an additional $54. Thanks for lying to me Rocklin Therapy- Hope you guys sleep well with your overpaid asses. Hopefully you guys can buy more signed jerseys with my money!! read more

Rocklin Physical Therapy has been a wonderful place to recover from my surgery to repair my broken and displaced clavicle. It was my first surgery and did not understand how important the therapy would be to my recovery. I have same issue as Jennifer H posted here before. I feel like I have been ripped off and I did ask front desk how much I need to pay per visit since they are not in my insurance network. I was told not much, less than $100. I paid 5 times, $65 each time for my 6 visits. Guess what, they billed my insurance around $244 per visit for total 1 hour physical therapy(15 min. manual therapy, 15 min ultrasound, and therapeutic exercise), insurance allowed $171.15 which means I have to pay extra $100 on top my $65. They totally mislead and laid to me... I questioned them on the statement on my third visit and got confused on explanation which I really concerned about. To be honest is my bottom line. read more

I started PT with Rocklin PT late last year 2020 and they were very cautious with me since I have a nasty inherited pulmonary disease. It seemed that they only did a few of the same exercises over and over. Where my problem started happening when I had a terrible reaction to my 2nd covid19 shot and had to cancel, I was approached by (I'll leave her name out) with a comment you need to pay for you missed visit ? I said, OK when I'm done with PT so I asked my PT person if she was able to fill my spot and she said yes, so as I was leaving the same girl wanted me to pay for my missed appointment...I said nope and I'm calling medicare because it is illegal to double bill. I noticed a lot of therapist were leaving one by one. Long story short, the practice was sold to a corporation and you all know what that means it becomes a profit center, not a care center. I was injured In a collision, received 5 treatments from Rocklin P.T.; when they went bill my auto insurance, Safeco, they wouldn't pay so they billed me at the high Medicare rates, and absolutely refused to bill Medicare for payment even though Medicare is my primary health insurance. Further they refused to give me any more appointment unless my auto insurance would be the payer. They lied about the fact they claimed that they could not bill Medicare when I had an auto insurance claim number. They used this false claim to elicit payment from me at exorbitant rates of about $380 a visit. Beware of these people! read more

I came to Rocklin Physical Therapy 3 months ago after complex ankle surgery. I have had therapy at several other physical therapy places & Rocklin PT is definitely head & shoulders above the rest. The entire staff is exceptional, from my amazing therapist, Leia, to the extremely knowledgeable aides, to the super friendly office staff. All the aides are actively involved with my therapist in demonstrating, explaining & insuring that I am doing my exercises correctly. I still have not regained total range of motion & flexibility, but I am vastly improved and I can function through daily life activities with no pain or fatigue. read more

I Agree with Alan. I wish I read some reviews before I went there. I am going to encourage my doctor's office to take Rocklin Physical Therapy off of their referral list. The actual licensed physical therapists aren't bad, when you actually see them. The other 90% of the time you are left to deal with the most unprofessional staff who thinks smiles equal doing their job. The equipment is incredibly old, and I had one piece break while I was using it, which could have caused injury to me and others around me. They didn't seem surprised it broke...The only piece of equipment they had that looked new, but clearly wasn't, couldn't even be used because the therapists didn't even know how it worked. Don't expect any of your appointments to start on time, even if you're early, because you can clearly see the staff chatting through the glass, only to let you start your appointment when their social time is over. Don't expect the aides to be attentive or act professionally, they will likely be chatting more, or seeking personal fitness advice from the therapists. The billing process just throws salt on the wound. They do not provide line-by-line billing, and will tell you that you are paid up, and then send you a bill later, with the aforementioned threat of a $20.00 rebill fee. That's not legal, it's just a threat they do to get you to pay for things they charged you for but didn't tell you about. Expect an argument and zero cooperation when you ask for why you now owe them more money. Do not expect an explanation as to why they said, with a smile, everything was paid up, they will just inform you that their screen says you now have a balance. Do not expect calls back from anyone who can actually inform you about your "balance", you will have to fix their mistakes on your own. If you do choose to try this place, do not leave their office with anything they "give" you, even if they specifically say its "free", or "won't be charged", because it absolutely will be, and it will be at a price that is double its worth. One star is too generous for this horrible business. read more

I am 67 yrs. old, had several surgeries and was experiencing severe spinal pain sometimes requiring a cane to move. So when the specialist recommended physical therapy I requested Rocklin Physical Therapy because of a friend's referral. It was a 40 minute drive one way for me, but well worth it. My physical therapist, John, was the best teacher explaining what I needed to do to both strengthen my core muscles to relieve spinal pressure; and how I should move to reduce or prevent further injury or pain. John was very sensitive to prevent any potential pain to my spine while in therapy, and he continually checked on me, giving me lots of instruction and encouragement as I progressed. Now I have finished taking physical therapy for several months, and continue to practice at home what I have learned. Everyone who worked there was interested in my health and pain levels. Best Physical Therapy place around. I have been a customer for years and always find the therapists and staff to be excellent. I have even paid out of pocket to come here. My therapist, John, is excellent, explains the diagnosis and exercises to fix the issue clearly. The PT assistants always work with you and keep an eye on you, so if you are doing an exercise incorrectly, they are quick to correct it. I choose make the 20 minute drive to Rocklin Physical Therapy, rather than go to another place 5 min from my house. read more

I've been to a few physical therapy places in Placer County. I think Rocklin Physical Therapy is one of the very best. Why? Their people. The three therapists are all very experienced and knowledgeable. They spend the time with you to ensure you leave recovered from your injury and educated you about how not to get the injury again. In addition, there are numerous PT Assistants so you are never left on your own. They always gave me tips to ensure I got the most out of the exercises. My doctor talked about muscle relaxants and massive doses of Advil and possibly surgery if "PT" didn't work. At Rocklin PT they talk about heat, ice and lots of work to get you better.
