Happy I decided and completed training, certification process and range practice with Any Means Defense and Training with Mr. Covington. Training was thorough and addressed all questions; knowledgeable of Maryland Laws and requirements, hands on application and certification process and aligned resources for background and fingerprints requirements. Mr. Covington was both knowledgeable and professional and executed the class with finesse. There was plenty of room for questions and helpful demonstrations- to assist both at the range and at home. I left the class with a greater understanding of firearm safety, usage, and storage as well as the state laws and regulations in Maryland. I have never shot a gun in my life. I never held one. My instructor made me and my group comfortable, he was patient and timely. We will get together with him soon to choose a firearm suitable for our needs and to ensure we have proper storage. Before this training I NEVER wanted to touch a gun let alone shoot it . Thinking about it had my hands sweaty and shaky. BUT, after this training I really felt calm and relaxed and I believe it was from me learning the safety behind it . The trainer, James, was professional and punctual. Very knowledgeable about subject matter. Live demonstrations and instructional videos helped solidify the material. We were able to shoot a handgun at the gun range. Would recommend for beginners and those wanting additional training with guns. The light refreshments were a nice touch. The instructor, James Covington, is very knowledgeable and instructed in a manner that made me feel safe handling a gun. I learned everything from the various parts of a gun to how I'm supposed to stand while shooting. Guess what, I didn't do bad at the range either. I definitely recommend this training. read more
