I booked myself and my wife on the HQL Course with Annapolis Defense & Security. My wife has very little handgun experience. I served for 22 years as a Sapper, former Commando and Military Diver with extensive handgun experience, including concealed carry; I wondered what I was going to learn. The course was outstanding, Joe is a phenomenally experienced Instructor; I learned a lot and even though a small part of the course, Joe helped me iron out a few habits! Joe easily catered to the different experience levels in the class and no-one was lost throughout the course, as the content was explained and different experience levels were catered for. I will definitely be using ADS again, so my wife and I can progress our handgun experience in a safe and healthy environment, which I trust. I recommend ADS to anyone, irrespective of experience level; they have my strongest recommendation.

My wife brought me to GUNTRY for my birthday, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with a simulation session, which was so cool. I am already planning to do it again. The shock pack that zaps you when you get hit is wild. It is a little crazy, but honestly really fun to try. We spent an hour at the range afterward. It is definitely loud and a bit tight, but it gets the job done. The staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful the whole time. The retail shop is huge too, with tons of firearms and accessories to browse. We ended the night at their cigar and whisky event, and that was a great time. The whisky was strong and plentiful, and dinner was delicious. It was all catered in house by the cafe. Pricing is pretty reasonable overall. Their lesson rates seem lower than a lot of other places I have seen, although I have not had a chance to take one yet. My only complaint is that I wish it were closer. I live in DC, so it is definitely a trek, but it was worth the drive.

The range has a variety of distances and environments (they cover from dedicated pistol ranges to 100 yard / 200 yard rifle ranges, and even shotgun / clays). Prepare for a process to join. They take membership seriously. $195 to join for a year but the money is well spent. They have professional Range Safety Officers (RSOs) and the grounds are idyllically set amidst nature's bounty. They also have these amazing high tech long range digital targets. They use four microphones to relay bullet telemetry so you don't have to hike 200 yards to see if you made the shot. Plus...these $1,000 devices lets competitions run from 200 real yards to a simulated 2,000 yard setup. Just goes to show that member dues are money well spent! A note to the less-than-wise. Bring your very best / safest behavior. The RSOs are not messing around. Everyone that comes to shoot...has a right to go home in one piece. They have a lot of members from all walks of life, from hunters to law enforcement, casual target shooters to dedicated competitors. Despite recent pressures from Maryland legislation, Berwyn's membership remains strong and may even be growing larger as one of the few venues people can use for their hobby or career. The range itself is set in the woods of rural Bowie. Admittedly, it looks more like a Boy Scouts camp than a major high-tech range, but that's part of its charm. They have three "no sky" ranges, meaning there are baffles set to block any stray bullets that do not head down the range. A 50 foot, a 50 yard, and a 100 yard allow people to use whatever they need for their chosen firearms. As an outdoor range, you can expect to deal with weather and climate as well as insect life. I always check the forecast before deciding to head out there. As a private range, this is not accessible to the general public. To gain access you must send an e-mail asking about membership. Within a month, you will know if you are approved to join (I've never known anyone to be turned down). After that, you have access to the range, but must remember to follow all range rules, including proper safety, avoiding damage to the range, and cleaning up after yourself. If you're into firearms, for anything from hunting to marksmanship, and looking for a good range in the Prince George's and Arundel area, then I recommend looking into this place. Despite experiencing technical difficulties, the store associates did everything they could to keep customers comfortable. When they realized it was my first time at a gun range, they went above and beyond to ensure I was equipped. G, in particular, gave me detailed instructions and didn't return to his duties until I properly discharged the firearm (which I did on the first shot due to his guidance.) The entire staff was kind and encouraging. Thanks for making my first experience a remarkable one. The staff are really friendly and the business even has NSSA and NSCA regulated tournaments held here. Not sure about ATA but I wouldn't be surprised if they did! Outside of the Trap and Skeet fields, there's also a Sporting Clays area! Haven't been yet but IIRC there's 30+ stations for you to shoot at! Next time I come and visit I'll def check it out. Oh...and did I mention they have a Five-Stand, too?? If you want to shoot skeet, trap, and/or sporting clays, this isn't a bad place to do it! It's a bit out of my way geographically but I'd gladly make the drive because this is a well run establishment that I'll happily drive to.

I had to have him transfer the handgun to another gun shop and pay transfer fees where I literally completed the transfer in one week after waiting over a year for Tim to engage with me to complete the transfer. Stay far, far away from this dishonest business.
