When we first called to see if he was accepting new patients, the receptionist said he would personally call us to schedule a meeting. We ended up meeting him at the clinic on a Thursday evening at 6PM. We were elated that he offered to meet us in-person before we made our decision, especially at the end of his work day. He sat with us for 20 minutes and answered all of our questions and eased our concerns. We knew after that meeting that he was definitely going to be our baby's pediatrician! His level of care and concern was something we never expected from a doctor. We were blown away! Every visit thereafter has been so great. He is a very calming doctor who eases all of our concerns and never makes us feel crazy for asking questions. He really knows his stuff. He comes from a family of pediatricians so it's apparent he has passion for what he does! We have never had any problems being seen right away when our baby has been sick which has also been very nice. I had some concerns about my baby so Dr. Plax called me to talk about it. He was then able to see us the next morning! I could go on and on about Children's Clinic and Dr. Plax's care. Highly recommend!

There was a several week period where they had to "review records" before I could schedule an appointment or bring in a sick child. The other office had already "dumped" us because the records were transferred. This left us without a pediatrician for a while, all while needing the second dose of a flu shot. This office told me to take him to the Health Department (um, first off they don't even give vaccines in the City other than Monkeypox and second, everywhere they referred me to did not do babies!) My baby was finally "accepted", after they reviewed his typical shots I guess, and we came in for an ear check. It took TWO 15 MIN calls to even make an appointment. The staff that answers the phone was very rude as well. Upon arrival, there are three doors you can use. I used the one that said "well visit" and listed ear ache. After going in, they tell me I'm in the wrong place and need to use the sick door. Ugh, then why list ear ache?? The wait time is minimal, it went very quickly, and I really liked the doctor, but the difficulty in making an appointment is something I don't want to deal with on a regular basis. It's also a HUGE office. I already transferred out.

I also have the impression that the office staff are not fully competent. For example, scheduling a 12:15 ultrasound, but the entire office is closed between 12-12:30. Empty waiting room, not answering phones and a closed window. Why are you scheduling people at this time? (I waited over 30+ min in a totally empty/quiet room). When I tried to ask if I was at the wrong time once the glass window finally opened, the lady was quite rude. Over the years there's been several "misunderstandings" with the office people. But it's not like I'm going to go find a new Dr or anything, so we just deal with it.

After all, rumors can be rumors . Well, its reputation proceeds it. It is a scam and in it for the money. Do not go there if you have been in a minor motor vehicle accident in need of simple x-rays. I was told when I checked in to call the billing department the following week, give them the accident claim number, and the insurance company would be billed. I did exactly that, providing whoever answered the phone in billing with all of the information she requested, including the name and phone number and email of the personal injury adjuster from the insurance company. Fast forward three weeks and I get a call from them saying "we don't Bill insurance companies". I was lied too and deceived. And now I have a claim on my health insurance that should not be there and there is no way to get rid of it. I will never go back.

Generally you aren't headed here on a fun trip, our visit was no different. There are tons of urgent cares in the area. I picked this one because I drove by recently and the building looked very new, I knew where it was, it was covered by our insurance and because of the Yelp reviews and that someone said they were good for kids. I went to the light and came around back of the CVS this is really the easiest way to get in. We showed up before the doors were unlocked. We were the first people in line. In the first 10 minutes on a Saturday they had about 6 other walk ins. They seemed to handle the rush well. The office staff was prompt and professional. The nurse was very kind, patient and gentle with an upset kid who was in pain. We had to have x-rays. Our x-ray person was also top flight and did great with the situation. We saw Dr. Powers who was awesome. We saw him very quickly after all that he read the x-rays and assessed us. Ultimately just based on the age of the patient and severity transferred us to children's. He said he could/would take care of us but that they were more geared for what we needed. We went to a pediatric emergency room and even though he talked to them on the phone and sent the x-rays and paper work over it took them 4 hours and calls to several specialists to come to the same conclusion he came to cake to in 15 minutes. Ultimately he was correct we needed the resources to treat the situation in someone so young they had and it was the right choice and they did an excellent job. Based on Dr.Powers professionalism and opinions and his excellent staff, nurses and technicians. St. Luke's will be our first stop for all future urgent care! I can't thank them enough.

I wish more of the offices validated parking fully. Only one did. The others did at 50%.
