I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have been to Victor twice now and both times Victor has been overly fair and generous to me. Last time before a road trip I took my car to Victor to get a check up when I had little money, he was honest and fair about what I needed and what could wait, when he could have scared me into spending more money (which in my experience is what most places) would have done. Honesty is the most important thing when it comes to choosing a car service. I also price checked Victor against most shops in the area and he seemed to be the best. I took my 2005 car to Victor as a first time customer. After getting a quote before hand I decided to just seek a second opinion. Really glad I choose to bring my car here, Victor was really clear about my options and explaining the issues. When I came to pick up my car not only did he keep the shop open a little later but he took the time to go through the process of how everything went, to say I was appreciative would be an understatement. 2nd visit for a SMOG check in 3 years. Passed the first time each visit! Thank GOODNESS!! Extremely happy to support a local business as well as get my car serviced correctly. I was told to bring it back if a check engine light comes on, and I should replace my battery (lots of acid build up and it looked GROSS). I rented a UHaul truck from this location and scheduled the pickup for an early morning before the shop was open. I've done this before at other locations and self-checkout was a breeze, so I wasn't prepared for what a headache this location would be. tl;dr: Don't rent a UHaul from here if you (1) need equipment or (2) need to self-checkout because they're not open The Good: + The 10ft truck was clean and in good condition + The owner (?) was very friendly and accommodating when I dropped off the truck The Bad: - The truck didn't have the equipment I ordered (utility dolly, furniture dolly, furniture pads) - I needed that equipment, so I called UHaul customer service but spent the whole time on hold. I finally hung up once the shop opened. - Once the shop opened, the worker had no idea what I was talking about. It took lots of talking and a phone call before I finally got a utility dolly and some furniture pads. - This location didn't have a furniture dolly, but I was still charged for it - It was about an HOUR after I first arrived before I was finally able to drive off with the truck and SOME of the equipment I was charged for. - In the mean time, friends who had woken up early to help me move were just sitting around waiting for me to show up with the truck. Moving is already a huge pain so find somewhere else to rent a UHaul. Even if it's farther away, it's worth it to avoid complications on moving day. read more

I was hearing a noise in my mid-mileage Lexus and took it to Victor to investigate. Victor then let me know that the noise was due to an older part that was used as part of a past repair, and did not pose any safety risk or risk for future problems. While he could have pushed for this several hundred-dollar repair, he was honest and let me know it was nothing more than a sound. He also identified issues with my sensors, which I previously knew about, and gave me an estimate, but also stated these repairs were not critical. I appreciated Victor's thoroughness and transparency, and will certainly return to his shop when I do have a problem worth fixing! I booked a U-Haul from them to be picked up on Sunday when they are closed. They use a lockbox system for keys, and they put my keys in the wrong lockbox. I had to call U-Haul customer service, which was very helpful and thought maybe the keys were in another lockbox, which they were. Instead of a 10min checkout, this process took 30min and if U-Haul customer service was not excellent, I probably would have had to cancel/postpone my move today. This place literally had a single very basic job to do, and they failed. Never again. You've been warned. read more

Warning! Do not use this place!! We took our Pontiac Montana minivan to Victor because of a coolant leak. Now the car is un-drivable. Upon calling victor back he proceeded to explain that we should not drive the car because even though he fixed the coolant leak it now is going into the engine.. so No!! In my humble opinion the coolant leak is NOT FIXED even though we have been charged $550 for this repair. Now the car is old however the engine itself is only 10 years. There is so much smoke now coming from the exhaust which was not happening before. The car is showing it's overheating upon start up!! There were also a bunch of caps from the engine left in the car on the passenger seat that I have no idea what to do with. OMG!! What a shame to have to write this rotten review because these guys seamed great at first, but I suspect this is a place that tampers with your vehicle so your continually returning to have things fixed.. read more

I first went to Victor for a smog test or oil change on my son's 2003 Nissan Sentra about 9 years ago. He was so personable and professional that I started taking our other cars there. He has worked on all of my family's cars dating from 1983 to 2016 and including two pretty beat up Nissans, two Jeep Cherokees, two old MBZ's (one 1983 and one 2001) and a 2016 Audi. When he says "Any Car," he means it. He is honest and thorough. He will tell you what absolutely should be done and what can wait. He not only knows his stuff, but he is fair, funny and kind. When we bring a car to him, we know it is in the hands of a good friend. Anyone that gave a negative review should give him another try. read more

3 stars is actually pretty good for a gas station! I mean, no one really enjoys getting gas, right? This location serves up high quality gas without all of the crowding and extra fees of the ARCO across the street. Prices usually run $.05-.07 more than ARCO, but once you figure in the $.40 fee that ARCO charges you'll wind up almost even. This station is rarely full, so you usually don't have to wait for a pump. Its a slight bit run down, but I've never had any problems with the pumps or anything like that. If you want a newer station try the Shell on the next block. read more

I rented a uhaul cargo van from victor and I was soooo impressed with the customer service I received. Victor is super nice and friendly and most importantly, efficient and helpful! On my way to work, my car started freaking out so badly that I decided to pull into the first station I came to. That was Any Car Service. From the moment I got out of my vehicle, Vic made me feel at home. He asked about what was wrong, popped the hood and listened to the car, then offered to put it on the machines and figure out what was wrong with it. True to his word, and hour later, he called me at my office and laid out what he had found. He outlined what needed to be done (spark plug replacement and gasket replacement), and then some other things that I might want to think about doing as well (transmission service) since he'd be all up in there anyway. The car was over due for a tune-up, I had him do all that and change the oil as well. The car was ready by 5:00, and the price came in about $300 less than I expected for the amount of work they were doing. I would send any of my friends to see Vic. read more

I have taken my car there twice in the last year and they have done a decent job. The owner Victor is a nice guy and appreciates that my car is old and he tries to keep the price down and not over repair. My only complaint is that he, like most other mechanics, is using a database to look up the amount of labor that he charges for the job and if it says 2.25 hours to do the job he multiplies 2.25 times his hourly rate - I forget what it is - and charges that for the job - plus parts. I suspect those labor times are usually over-estimating the amount of time. I want to find a local car mechanic that will just keep track of the time he works and charge for that. I don't mind paying someone $100/hr for a full hour of work but not when the job really only takes him a half hour. (I can see why they charge this way when they have a small one or two man shop; they are probably constantly being interrupted and it would pretty difficult to really keep track of every minute like a blankidy blank lawyer.) So I will go back to Any Car until I find a mechanic that I can trust to just charge me only for the actual labor. read more

Don't come here for smog. I had a vacuum hose that was recently repaired, that can be seen as you pop the hood. Victor thought it was tampered with, so he auto failed me for the visual test. He proceeded to do the test knowing he was gonna fail me so he can charge for the test. Any smog tech with a heart would have just told me " hey man this isn't gonna pass the visual test, so there isn't a point to try and smog it until you fix it". Charged 70 bucks for the test even though I failed then proceeded to tell me he can cut me a deal and charge me another 70 bucks to put the correct hose on and test again. Dude just wanted to increase his smog score and take my money, I'm not stupid. Showed 2 other smog techs, and they both didn't have a problem with the hose. Wouldn't trust this place for anything car related not even an oil change. read more
