Found this place through a coupon in the paper , probably my first mistake . (It will never just be the price of the coupon , there's a $2 tax plus an $8 service fee ) . The owner wasn't the friendliest and seemed in a rush after I showed him my coupon even though no one else was in the shop . The second mistake I made was parking in front of the shop and not before it . This means it would require the technician to reverse my car and enter the door rather than just turn right into the shop if I had parked behind . I always make it a point to watch whoever gets into my car and moves it while I take it to get serviced (should've just done that BS myself ) . I witnessed this guy reverse , take the damn turn too early and scrape my bumper into the green curb in front of the shop causing a deep scratch and green paint to smear on my bumper . He knew exactly what he did . I let him enter the shop and as soon as he gets out I immediately walk to the front of my car and look at the scratch , first thing he says "I think your transmission is messed up , that was the noise you heard " . Guess integrity goes out the window when you just want to make a buck. READ AND LISTEN to the other nightmare reviews . They aren't lying. POS LIAR . 2nd photo description : This is the invoice with my information whited out for my safety as he seems unhinged , even dangerous . The employee asked for my keys to bring the car in when I here a bang. As he drove the car in, he scraped the bottom side of my bumper! Called up a few weeks ago to find out some details for getting my car smog checked (e.g. are they a star station, does the coupon apply, availability), and the guy who answered was rude and terse, hanging up immediately after giving a super short and incomplete answer to my question. I had to call three times in a row to get all questions asked, and only in the third one did he reveal that they would not even be able to do a smog check that day until late in the afternoon. Okay thanks, but this is the type of information you should lead with if a customer is asked smog service questions. First of all I really don't like posting negative reviews. Unfortunately Mohammad the owner really doesn't care about customers or repeat business as I was. I understand that accidents happen. Last March beginning of COVID. I had to have my truck smog checked. I was just there the week before for a vehicle transfer smog. I'm going to cut to it he ran my truck into the side of his building! Then told me he had no insurance! I called the police they said it was a civil matter. I called Bureau of automotive repair no help. Mohammad told me to put it on my insurance and when I signed the work order he was released of liability . I had just recently switched insurance carriers and it was rough to get the claim quickly approved plus a 500 dollar deductible. My truck did pass smog and he gave me a "free" inspection and certificate. I went by a few months ago and asked Mohammad if he would pay my deductible . He said he would check with his insurance company! Now he has insurance??? WTF. No way to do business shady! And he also said most body shops cover the deductible! Now my truck is forever repaired... NO MASKS. NO DISTANCING. NO PPE !!! This review isn't really Smog Test related it's more of a PSA. I'm sure the test was fine just fine. The person helping me, seemed to be the owner, middle aged, gray beard, black hat. I went in wearing a mask. There were two customers in the small waiting area who were also wearing masks, barely 6ft apart. As I approached the counter I could see the person helping me had no mask, I asked if he had one, he pulled out a crumpled looking one and put it on, he then took no time at all letting me know his beliefs as far as COVID, going so far as to say there's no virus here only in China, Russia and Iran. I didn't ask! I let him know I wasn't interested in his beliefs. After I got my key back I wiped it down. Wiped my car down too as he drove it in and out. I never post reviews but felt compelled to do so on this issue. My family just had a horrible experience with AA Smog on California Drive, near the main fire station. Having stopped in the temporary parking spot, we were picking up our kid from a class. The owner came out and called my wife an expletive IN FRONT of our children, no hello, query, or discussion. I have heard this guy has done this kind of thing before. He then proceeded to call me a racial slur, all because we parked in front of his business, with the back tire approximately 8 inches beyond the green curb. So this is my second trip to this shop in 6 months. The first time everything went smoothly. The second time which was about 45 minutes ago, not so much. I bring my car in with the penny saver coupon and everything is going well until I make the mistake of trying to make small talk with the owner. Apparently, I had stepped on one of his hoses and that completely set him off. He started yelling, cursing and threatening me. I was in shock at how this person was talking to another person (me). Needless to say I got out of there in a hurry and never ended having my smog done. DON'T EVER GO TO THIS SHOP.
