We went there last week for a party. It's nicely decorated with tons of awards in the hallway for which I cannot understand why. Immediately upon reaching our table, I noticed people dunking their silverware in the water glass. I gave them the benefit of a doubt, assuming it was just waterspots. I was wrong. I picked up my husband's fork and knife and found bits of food still in the prongs and on the ridges of the knife. Mine was just as bad. The host was promised some overhead music, but the server said she didn't know how to use the radio and the owner wasn't coming in, so "Oh well."
Next came the buffet-style antipasto. Not bad but we were supposed to fit bits of cheese, pepper shooters and raw veggies on the same plate as the pre-dinner salad which was no bigger than a small saucer for coffee. Most of us took dinner plates, just so the food wouldn't fall off but we paid the price later, as they ran out of dinner plates because of it. Being Italian, we took bread to eat our cheese and peppers with, not knowing we would pay for that action later too.
Next comes the buffet: chicken parm, roast beef, green beans & potatoes. I waited till the line went down a little then went up to eat. Guess what? No more bread and no more plates, except for two dirty ones that were passed by the people who came before me. When I asked for a clean plate, the server rolled her eyes and silently walked away to get a stack, clearly aggravated that the plates were used for salad instead of the 3 1/2 inch saucers we we're expected to use. Meanwhile, the rolls were gone. As I turned to receive my roast beef (without a roll) the server complained to me that our host should have told them that we would be making roast beef sandwiches. What else would we do with roast beef?
Shouldn't that have been expected? Or maybe they should have put out some crusty Italian bread with the antipasto instead of the Roast Beef rolls? Then she says "do you want a whole chicken parm or a half?" Now it wasn't overly big, about 4-5 inches, so would anyone really want it cut in half?
Moving on, coffee was served by the same miserable server, but we waited and waited for more than thirty minutes while she stood around and then finally cut the cut. Coffee was long gone by then.
All in all, the food was not terrible but I found this place to be harsh and very unaccommodating. They did not make us feel welcome nor did they make an effort to make anyone happy. It was more like, "Eat and get the heck out"
I will never book a party at this venue because catering should be exactly that... CATERING to people, leaving them feeling content and making happy memories of the event that was there. It's not just serving food! read more
