Where do I begin?? Me and my husband always dreamed about having our reception at Centerton Country Club, we didn't go elsewhere to see if we were certain that we were making the right choice. We knew centerton was the right choice, but we were wrong. From the beginning we were getting the runaround. Apparently they can't keep anyone there. We booked through One girl, the following week another girl was reaching out to me because the one girl left, about a month later I started getting random emails from several different girls to come in and such to discuss our plans. I was a bit confused why I was talking to so many people. When we signed our contract we were entitled to the chocolate fountain, but when our wedding actually was taking place the chocolate fountain was an upcharge. They tried arguing with me saying it was never included and such and if we wanted it we had to pay the upcharge per a person to have it. I kept all the books including the girl business card stapled to it that we originally booked it with. About a month before our reception they wanted me to deal with another girl and I refused. All I wanted to do was deal with one girl for the whole planning. The first thing that set things off was the fact that we were never told that there was going to be any remodeling done or anything, including the name change. We spent a ton of money on our invitations that had the wrong name on it. Centerton did nothing to reimburse us or paid for new ones. We were promised for everything to be done in time it wasn't. The place looked like a construction zone. The entrance was not landscaped. All my ask was to make sure the light post were working and straight and the brush and grass to be maintained. It was not. That's the first appearance people see when they arrive. Embarrassing. When it was time to start seriously making the plans, we went and we knew exactly what we wanted. We were also having a band and a DJ for the band breaks. We were told we couldn't have exactly what we wanted. We were told how things needed to be set up and that's not what we wanted. This was an ongoing battle. Very upsetting and unprofessional. We were told what colors linens we should have and such also, we didn't agree. It wasn't our taste. We were suppose to have our food tasting one day that we scheduled it and the cook never showed up so they cancelled it. Everyone took off to be there, they had no sympathy. Never even apologized for the inconvenience. We had a band who required coke, Diet Coke, and a case of water and regular coffee. We had to provide that. For as much money we paid, we still had to provide it for them. Absolutely uncalled for. I had two dresses and I had to change into my second dress before the start of the reception after cocktail hour. I had to get dress in a junkie office. Why couldn't I get dress in the bridal suite?? Oh that's right because it wasn't completed and look like a construction zone, no air condition in it and the bathroom did not work. So therefore the bride had to use the public restroom. What is the purpose of the bridal suite? I also asked to use the bridal suite to get ready in the morning. That was an issue and I was told I would have to purchase drinks and food through them. Our band needed a dressing room to change their outfits and they were put in the dark hallway to get changed.
Our cake was included in the package from country sweets in Woodbury, we got the runaround from them also. You could only get select things for your cake if not you had to pay the difference. It was pretty much the bare basic. Kept calling the bakery could never get ahold of Gerry who we had to speak to. We finally finalized our cake and it was still wrong. Never had the flowers on top and we were not having a cake topper. So we had this bare ugly looking cake with nothing on top. They did nothing about it. I even asked them to send a pic of the cake to me so I could see it first thing in the morning, they never did. Also my flowers were dropped off including my throwing bouquet and the throwing bouquet was nowhere's to be found, you know why it was on the cake table, so I had to use one of my girls bouquets. When the reception was done, we had to clean up, when we made our decor drop off we were told we could come back the next day to pick everything up. They gave us a problem with it. After all the problems we had we want to have another event there and they are giving us problems. Trying to tell me we have to have a certain amount of food and beverage purchase in order to have it there. Which was never said before. Very delayed response back from the event planner. You would think that someone who had as many issues and problems that we had and they want to do business with you again, you would be willing to do something for them. read more
