4.75 stars. I attended M + V's wedding here a few months ago. It was a long drive from New Brunswick, but not unbearable. Upon arriving, I felt like I was at a country retreat. The grounds were lovely. The venue itself was warm, welcoming, and intimate. The cocktail hour had lots of good appetizers and drinks. The servers were awesome! Especially Stephen, he was super nice and went out of his way to help us. We had a great time dancing and celebrating the couple. The food, though delicious, wasn't enough for me! I did ask for seconds, but they didn't have any left. But overall, lovely venue, beautiful gardens, wonderful service, and a great celebration! read more

*deep sigh* The Carriage House is so beautiful for a wedding or an opulent event. However, I have been to at least six different types of events here and the food has always been terrible. My daughter had her prom here and complained about the food. I have been to many events and have had/heard the same complaint. However, I have talked to people who have had weddings here and they say the food has been top-tier. Probably because they have used better chefs for those events. Not sure but not a fan. read more

My family attended a wedding yesterday at The Carriage House. The staff was amazing. Everything was handled professionally and friendly. They were all very engaging, they smiled and spoke with the guests. Everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs and make an effort to make sure the guests were happy. It was smooth and seamless. The food was delicious and they had plenty. The ceremony was in the beauty garden that was professionally styled and maintained. The host/DJ was fun and kept everyone on the floors for a fun event. Seriously, this place is beautiful. I attended a wedding here as a bridesmaid for my brothers wedding and it blew me away with how beautiful the venue was. When you walk in, You are welcomed by a spacious room with two lovely staircases. There was a cocktail hour and that room was gorgeous, then the reception area, my gosh! I couldn't have imagined a better place to celebrate the love two people share for one another! I was upset the weather sucked as I looked forward to an outdoor wedding, but they accommodated well! read more

my Fiancé and I had been trying to look at this venue for over a month. After having to reschedule a few times (well in advance) we were told we were no longer allowed to reschedule to see the venue. Obvioudly our business was not wanted by their one employee Kristin N. and frankly how she has a job trying to make people excited to see this venue for the most important day in your life is beyond me. anyone looking to get married here make sure you keep your appointments (not with this Kristin person) since the photographs of this place often look dingy or with dressed up lighting to be considered half decent for their package Prices. read more

My husband and I were in a wedding here this past weekend. The venue is beautiful. Our event was inside but we were able to have family pictures on the balcony and front porch. From my perspective the staff was very helpful. Food was delicious. Drinks great. The bride and bridesmaids were able to have a private room at top of the steps with a small private toilet and sink. The groom and groomsmen did not have their own bathroom and had to walk across the building to other side to use the restroom which was suitable. The lighting in the small bathroom on the bride's side was very poor. The other larger bathroom was very nice with private toilets. We had both a hairdresser and a make-up artist who could set up on either side of the room. The one professional needed a table and staff was able to get one for them. This was a lovely facility and I would recommend it. read more

First let me start off by saying how absolutely beautiful this place is. It one of a kind! We were here for a wedding and it amazing, probably one of the best weddings I've ever been too. We arrived at 4pm for a 5 pm ceremony, surprisingly there was no valet parking. We were sat in a smaller room on the far side of the building. After the ceremony we had cocktail hour, it consisted of 2 bars, one inside the room and one out. A gentleman was playing the piano outside and a young lady was playing the harp inside. The set up was nice it consisted of a pasta station, cheese station and various appetizers. The scallops and shrimp were amazing. One complaint would be there weren't enough servers walking around. When someone came out with let's say shrimp, they were bombarded. The patio area was very nice but only had 2 small tables. As for the reception, the room was beautiful!! The band was on the balcony. Now the bad part was the food. The servers were coming around and confirming dishes, stating the steak would come out med rare. I was thinking to myself great. Sadly, every steak at the table was overcooked and dry. The salad was very good and the sides with the entree were good. The bartenders were great! Very knowledgeable with drinks etc. I would recommend this place as it's very nice. They lose a star because of food. Solid 4 stars. read more

NOT SUCH A WINNING TEAM!!!!! February 2020, we contracted The Carriage House, in good faith for a wedding ceremony and reception for January 2021. Then the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic began. We asked to postpone, tried rescheduling, suggested alternatives, to which they were not agreeable. Sadly, they left us with no choice but to cancel our wedding. All we did was give them a $2000.00 deposit to hold the date. We gave them almost a year's notice. They did nothing and they lost nothing. Disgustingly, they refused to refund the initial deposit of $2000.00. Over 500,000 deaths in the US, STILL limited indoor dining, STILL mask requirements, STILL social distancing restrictions, STILL social gathering constraints, STILL travel bans and the laws specifically governing New Jersey, including no dance floors allowed. They would have never been able to have had our planned wedding; nor would anyone safely been able to attend. They acted in bad faith. We were taken advantage of. We sent letters and emailed their entire team from the President on down, never one response, FROM ANYONE!! They still have our deposit!! Shame on you!! #PANDEMIC read more

Great staff. Great food. Clean. Professional. I can't say enough good stuff about this venue and its staff. After a difficult start due to covid, our daughter's wedding finally went off and the end of April 2021 to what our guests called a 'coming out party' and 'the wedding of the year'. Like most covid brides, there were so many unknowns. I'm glad we stayed with our original planned venue. They made sure everything was perfect. They went over everything with us a few day before the wedding. Everything from who arrives at what time and who gives what speech and what will be served at what time, what special decorations and personal touches we wanted were followed with attention to every detail. I cannot write this review without happy tears. Warning, this review is a long one... Kristin, Megan and the staff went beyond my wildest dreams and delivered a dream wedding. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes. They are the best in the region for a reason! Their professionalism, ability to work with a budget (and respect it), being so pleasant with highly stressed brides and family - I cannot emphasize enough how easy and calm they made the whole process from start to finish. All of my guests are still raving about the quality, diversity, and amount of food served. The venue was meticulously clean and shining. The bridal captains and attendants were friendly, competent and wonderful. I would formulate a hint of a thought of needing something - and it was already in front of me. Kristin and Megan are true professionals and truly sincere human beings who listen to you. They have done it all and give great advice if you listen or ask. Kristin and Megan are super responsive via email - which always reassured me. They are adaptable and handle every hiccup or change in direction like champs. I cannot praise Kristin and Megan enough. You need to trust them with your wedding! The event ran on time thanks to their planning and advice. I would recommend The Carriage House a thousand times over. We had our wedding about a month ago, 11/17/17. It was such an amazing experience. The Carriage house has been my dream venue since they opened, and I was lucky enough to have my wedding here. The team made our whole experience amazing. From the time we booked, to our big day, I have zero complaints. Many of our guests still bring up how amazing and classy the team was working our wedding. From the servers, to the valet, people we absolutely blown away by the professionalism. I wish I could live our wedding day over and over again. Groomsman all had their sunglasses stolen which were a gift from the groom- this left a bad taste in our mouth so minus one star for that. My best friend just got married here last week. Our experience was truly first class. During rehearsal there was someone guiding us the entire time tell us what to expect and where we should stand. Her husbands bother was marrying them and it was his first time officiating and wedding and she was even helping him with what to say and how to say it. The dressing area for the bride and bridal party was on one side this beautiful staircase and the groom and his groomsman's were on the other side. The rooms were hug and included their own bathroom. We had enough space in there to have 2 makeup artist on one side and the food on the other side. Each room opened up to a connecting balcony that is perfect for pictures. They even had a huge mirror on our room that made the photographers job so much easier when photographing the dress and getting candid shots of her getting ready. They staff were nice and accommodating and every so often they would come in to help calm her down and make her feel comfortable. The food from the cocktail hour was so good and they made sure the wedding party didn't miss out by brining us trays of food. My favorite part was when they were able to see the reception area before they guest left the cocktail area. She was so happy with how every thing turned out and it was truly beautiful in there. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married or having any type of event. They really do take care of you and make sure your special day is truly memorable!!! read more

Attended a wedding there this past Friday, and I have to say that besides the beautiful spacious place, everything else was a total disappointment. First, the food was absolutely dry, chewy, and not very good tasting. Except for the Prime Rib. There was an extreme lack of customer service. Not a single person was pleasant other than the Valet attendees. The coordinators were walking around like big-shots with the walkie-talkies. The bartenders were serving under-age drinkers, but would not service a vodka-club to a diabetic, who can't have sugar in their drink, because the bride did not order that specific drink. And they were mean about it. Not even apologizing. The cake was disgusting tasting. And if you were allergic to any foods, forget about eating there, the servicers did not even know what they were serving and what was in it. If I was a food critic, I would give that place a -4 for food and a -8 for service. Don't spend you money to have a wedding there, I have been to so many more hospitable and lovelier places where they treat you and your guest like royalty on your special day. read more

The Carriage House was a bride's (and groom's) dream! The staff was everything we could hope for from planning to the day of. They helped us all along the way, even when I had stress dreams about what I could and couldn't have for my favors after I impulse bought them! Carly and Meghan were awesome! Carly even visited during our rehearsal dinner just to make sure everything was going as planned! The company and staff always went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was very special and exactly what we wanted. We truly appreciate their effort and hard work! My sister got married here back in 2009 or 2010, and it was the best wedding that I have ever been to! The entrees were your average wedding dish (nothing to write home about but FAR from bad), but there was so much Really good food at cocktail hour that it more than made up for it (if you haven't learned by now that you should fill up on the cocktail hour food at any wedding then maybe you need to take a step back and really take at look at your life). The rooms where the groom and groomsmen and the bride and bridesmaids can hang out and get ready in are the nicest I've ever seen for a wedding venue. They are large with big, classy, comfortable couches, and a balcony that you can walk out on (that connects the grooms and bridal suites!). The ball room was amazing as well. With the stage for a DJ or a band elevated about 20 feet above the dance floor (bands are ideal for this space) it opens the area up to a surreal vibe. I'm engaged and have been looking at Many venues over the last few months, but so far nothing has compared to the Carriage House. The woman in the comment before me must have been having a bad night, so I felt obligated to give another perspective on the place. Hope this helps! read more
