There were 9 of us, and he made food for what seemed to be a small army. However, I am not complaining because I got to keep and eat the leftovers! I was able to do a tasting and seriously loved every bite. She really has an eye for making the dishes and plating look beautiful, elegant and classy. We are self-proclaimed foodies so this was the perfect gift for us. He arrived to our house with all of the supplies needed for our six course dinner. Jay was friendly and professional as he fielded our questions about the menu, how long he'd been in business, and many other topics. Our first course was bacon-wrapped dates with cool coleslaw salad with apple cider dressing. This was probably our favorite dish! The sweetness of the date and saltiness of the bacon made for a wonderful combinations of flavors. Next, we were served a green power salad with just about any green vegetable you could think of. After the salad, we had parmesan-stuffed lamb meatballs in a spicy red sauce with toast points. The lamb was gamey and perfectly cooked. The fourth course was stuffed chicken breast in a red sauce. This dish was creative in that the chicken was stuffed with apricots, sauteed spinach, mushrooms, and peppers. The medley of fruit and vegetable was so enjoyable and paired well with our remaining power salad. The last course was mussels in a tomato-based broth with lots of veggies. By the time we made it to our last course, we barely had room for dessert. But where there's a will there's a way. Jay paired pre-made dutch apple pie with vanilla Swiss Haagen-Dazs ice cream, a sweet ending to a very elaborate dinner. Chef Jay thought of everything we needed for our private dinner, right down to the tablecloth, floral centerpiece, and candles! He brings his own flatware and washes everything before he leaves. Ted Torres, the chef and owner, was an amazing resource in helping us envision how our wedding would play out, and went above and beyond with his team to ensure that the experience was perfect for us and our guests. In the communication leading up to the event, Ted would always make time to answer our questions, speak or meet with us in person, and after each conversation made us feel great about our decision to use COA given his thoughtfulness and expertise. On the day of our wedding, the staff was very professional and kind, and took great care of us and our guests. We chose a venue that had never hosted a wedding before, so Ted and his team played an integral part in executing our unique vision. There were never any lines at the bars, the hors d'oeurves were a HUGE hit, and the whole evening felt very classy. The set up and clean up was seamless as COA paid attention to all of the little details. The bartenders executed our signature drinks with great care and expertise as well.
