Was visiting and tried Antonio's. Was a fun spot and they were doing trivia night. Wings were tasty and pizza was very good as well. They were busy but the servers were getting it done. Would visit again.

    Burger and fries are good.

We have driven by the unassuming pizza joint many times. Located right off a 'round about', it's easy to access their parking lot from Admiral Kalbfus Rd. Located next to Sullivan Tire, they have a fair size private parking lot. There are two 'sections' of this establishment. On the right is an area where you can order 'a slice' at the counter or pick up your take away order. On the left is a long bar, some high top tables and booth seating. Windows run across the front, with a door at the middle. A few smaller windows run along the side wall in the bar/dining room area. Restrooms (M/W) are in the back of the bar area. We initially walked to the right side, didn't see a menu and as it was an odd time of day, there weren't many slices available. As we hadn't been here before and weren't sure what the food options were, we sidled over to the bar and were handed menu's. They have a few beers on tap and a full range of alcohol. A QR code was posted in the 'take-away' area on the right. You can scan this to down load their menu if you like. To see the menu on their website, choose the 'order on-line' option. Select a category on the left side of the web page to see the offerings in each category. Besides pizza, the menu includes several salads, burger, pasta, wings. and a couple of taco's listed under apps, as well as potato skins and nachos to name a few. My SO ordered their hottest wing sauce and he tells me it's like Frank's hot sauce, which for him is too tame. But the chicken was good quality and he ate the whole basket. They offer boneless and classic wings which come with either blue cheese or ranch on the side. I ordered a burger. It was well cooked, juicy, served with lettuce and tomato, on a soft bun. Ask for condiments to be added to the burger if you want some. Ketchup was put on the bar for the fries, which were good and there were plenty. Should have ordered a side salad, or other vegetable to accompany our heavy meals. They do offer fried brussels sprouts in their appetizer section with a variety of sauces and many of their salads (garden, Caesar, Greek for ex.) come as a 'side' option. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The Bartender was pleasant. The food good. Why we didn't get pizza, I'm not sure, but we really should try it next time we are in the area.

She was nice enough to let me try them and I chose the Trevino which was very good and paired great with my food. The bread was nothing special but solid and the high quality olive oil made up for it. For my main I got the chicken milanese and it was divine. I loved the vinaigrette on top perfectly acidic and vinegary. It cut though the oil and heaviness of the breading which was perfectly salted by the way. The arugula bean salad was sooo good and created such a well balanced meal. The one thing I will say is I believe their fryer does fish and chicken bc my chicken had a slight ocean taste but since I like fish I was not bothered but non fish people beware!

For this former (and always in my heart) New Yorker, getting pizza in this state is usually a disappointing, painful experience. There's 'Rhode Island' style pizza which can be OK, but let's face it - it's not pizza. It's flatbread. Sometimes you just gotta have a true New Yorker slice. Nothing fancy, just a 'pizza joint' slice like you can get on any street in New York. Dripping with gooey melted cheese, crispy crust, thin but not like a cracker, sauce that isn't 'sweet.' Checkers pizza is it. A slice is enormous, the size of two slices anywhere else. It captures the 'New York pizza joint' slice very well. By New York standards it's good. By Rhode Island standards it's OMG this is amazing run don't walk run to get it! After waiting for over 15 minutes for someone to come, take our drink order my husband finally walked over to a few staff members and asked if anyone was servicing our table. It seems as though two different staff members each thought the other one was servicing our table, and they apologized for the oversight. Shortly after they took our drink order, a manager came over to the table with a complementary app and offered a round of drinks on the house. We definitely didn't expect this, but it was a very nice gesture. The appetizer she brought over was a twisty bread and it's something we never would've normally ordered, but it was fantastic. I had a spicy watermelon margarita and it was so good! I definitely recommend trying it. For my meal, I ordered the tuna poke bowl, which is very good. All in all I would say it was a good night. The drinks were good, the food was good. It was a lively and fun atmosphere and they were able to turn the service around. We'll likely return again.

We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. I got here around 4 pm and the parking situation wasn't honestly an issue. The music isn't over powering and the overall layout makes it seem very homey. depending on where you sit you have a nice view of the kitchen where the chefs are diligently preparing the food. The starter bread is nice and dense with good flavor, it reminds me of a sour dough. The olive oil that comes standard at the table is robust and has a very nice flavor to it. I ordered the pasta bolognese, the taste and acidity of the sauce is pretty standard, a little on the acidic side but i tend to enjoy it like that. The house made pasta (or whichever kind of pasta is used) is well picked. The pasta picks up the sauce well and the mouthfeel is hard to beat; I want to attribute that to the house made aspect of it. I also got one of their seasonal cocktails called the paper plane which was refreshing. It was a little tart, definitely tastes of grape fruit with the lemon garnish also contributing to the taste. However I'm not sure how well it paired with pasta alla bolognese. To finish I got the crème brûlée. For me it's always a toss up between that and key lime pie every time so when a place offers both I usually have to flip a coin. For those who have had crème brûlée, it's overall a pretty simple dessert. The portion size was a huge plus for me. The sugar top had just a hint of burnt taste (obviously!) but you could really tell; and that is something I honestly don't mind. As for the crème it was nice, light, smooth with a hint of lemon I think. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I'm typically a solo diner but at least from what I saw they are capable of accommodating parties of about 10 so long as you call ahead first to let them know. I have to assume given the time of year it's "less packed" than normal because outdoor dining is pretty much not an option in march. This is my first time in the state of Rhode Island and subsequently the first time in Newport. I found them out through the Resy app, and decided to give it a shot. In all honestly because of the vibes, the food and the area, if you are ever in the area I would definitely try this spot out for some pretty good Italian. P.S I want to apologize for only posting the dessert, I'm just getting back into food posting. Sorry!

I tried the tagliatelle bolognese and really liked it. I also had pepperoni pizza and loved it. It was an almost perfect Neapolitan pizza diavola with just a little American flair in the pepperoni. Crust was crispy chewy as it should be and the sauce was perfect. A++ pizza! The prices are extremely fair for downtown, and the food is top 10% or better.
