Not being from the Houston area, we needed catering for a happy hour networking event and found…read moreUptown Catering through a Google search. We're so glad we chose them! The online ordering and payment process was easy, and communication with Lindsey via email and phone was timely and efficient. Delivery was right on time, and the setup and presentation were perfect for our small event. We received several compliments on how fresh and delicious the charcuterie board, vegetables, and fruit were. We would definitely recommend Uptown Catering and will keep them in mind for any future events we host in Houston!

I just catered breakfast for a family event with 20 people and spend $442 (including tip/delivery)…read more The food was mediocre and the portions were so small. I ordered "The Convention" breakfast which was "Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Breakfast Potatoes and Buttermilk Biscuits" - it came with literally 20 tiny sausage patties and biscuits total. So one tiny sausage and biscuit per person. I didn't count the bacon but it was a similarly stingy portion. No one had more than two pieces. The eggs were bland. The potatoes were actually good. But overall, it was so embarrassing to have the food show up and it be these tiny trays of hardly any food for over $400. I would have been better off ordering individual dishes for each person from a local restaurant. I thought with the high Yelp and Google reviews I saw, this would be a safe bet! I also ordered a 20 mini pastries for $3.25 each which were like pastries you get at a 7/11. At least if you are overcharging, let the food be good and not like you unwrapped pastries from a Costco haul. Worst of all was the coffee which was watered down and disgusting. Everyone threw theirs out so I just dumped it. What an utter waste of money. Also they only sent 8 cups with the coffee even though the breakfast was for 20. Stingy and bland all around. If you are catering for a small group, please save yourself the trouble and embarrassment and just order takeout from a local restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the spread but I was just too upset. All I took was the coffee which you can tell even from the picture was watery. ***The menu listed the items but didn't say only 1, 1oz piece of bacon per person - that's absolutely absurd for a normal breakfast portion. Who would cater one piece of bacon per person?

Special shoutout to Mr. and Mrs. Dixon, reppin' the West Bank (aka the BEST Bank) in NOLA! Y'all brought that New Orleans flavor and love, and we are forever grateful. I loved the food and munched on it like a starving kitten. Pandemic hits and it severely limits my ability to go to places, but I still had the old flyer. I called the order in ahead and ordered a shrimp poboy for myself, a fish one for my husband and a chicken pasta for my mother. First things first, as its technically a catering company and due to restrictions with dine in service in Fort Bend County, I don't know if the inside will ever be meant for dining service. It seems it's meant mostly for pick up, but on the other hand restaurants are operating differently with the pandemic, so I can't say for sure. Now the food. Portions are huge. Our poboys were large enough that we split them to taste the other person's meal. I felt they were some of the best poboys, I've had. Probably the only better ones are the ones from New Orleans and that's high praise as it's New Orleans influenced dining. If you want to know, I think the fried fish poboy slightly edged out the shrimp poboy. I felt the taste of the shrimp at times got lost, whereas the fish poboy and all of the other components were balanced. However, it's such a slight difference in terms of taste, that you're not losing out if you're eating the shrimp poboy. But if you are eating with someone and they don't mind sharing, I do recommend swapping half your poboy. For my mother's meal, as a picky old lady, she was content, and that's rare. It was a lot of food, it came with vegetables and corn bread. She ate it and didn't complain. To me that's high praise. The only real "knock" as that while the bread pudding is good, I know you can get better bread pudding elsewhere. Also, as it seems to be a start up business, drink options are also limited. However, I think with time there will be more drink options/ As for the bread pudding, people are either going to agree with me or not. It's still good, but I don't think that's the highlight of this caterer/restaurant. The main dishes are what makes this place unique and I'd come here for those dishes or consider this place for events like weddings and bigger parties. The food is good enough to make everyone happy and if it's for a wedding or birthday party it's not like you'll need their dessert as wedding/birthday cakes tend to be ordered at bakeries. Definitely try it, and send me a note if you agree.

What a fantastic experience!…read more My little sister wanted to throw a cooking party for her 30th birthday; Chef B came highly recommended. All 16 of us gathered at my sister's in Willis late afternoon for a toast and to hang out before the anticipated start time of 5pm. Chef B and Jackie arrived a little after 4 and seamlessly began preparing while guests mingled. (I'm not even certain when they arrived since they just blended in.) They brought an app for us to snack on: baby lobster rolls, mmm. When it was go time, Chef B and Jackie allowed us to pair up at multiple different "stations" around the kitchen/dining area. The guys crowded around the meat table to form "Team Meat" and the rest of us paired up at the various stations where we were walked through each step of preparation. My older sister and I were at the prosciutto-wrapped green bean station, arguably the most "difficult" one. Really, all we had to do was grab a small handful of green beans and wrap them - along with some grilled scallions - with a piece of prosciutto. However, since we'd had open season on Prosecco and sangria for over an hour, this was harder for her than I thought, ha. But it sure was fun! Very social. Food prep at all the stations took half hour tops (half that time at most). The meat had already been brined, herbs chopped, etc. so assembly was simple. Other than the food (I'll get to that) my favorite part was realizing how easy it all was. We got a little booklet at the end with all the recipes; there were very few ingredients and none were complicated. The Chefs managed the majority of the cooking (or supervised the parts we wanted to do, i.e. the guys at the grill) About an hour or so later we were presented with a smorgasboard: bruchetta salad, cremini mushrooms, bourbon bacon pork tenderloin, roasted root veggies, butternut squash with honey, our green beans...I can't even remember it all. But every, single. thing. tasted great! Everyone was so proud of the dish they took part in, it was cute. The best part: the chefs cleaned everything up afterwards! All my sister provided was a kitchen and some dishes to eat off of, everything else was covered, start to finish. All of this for $45 a person. Absolutely unreal. Could not possible recommend more. I'm hoping I can get Chef B and Jackie to come to Austin!!

Ricky is such a gracious host! The tables had been covered in newspaper and, when it hit 6 pm sharp, he spread out the freshly cooked crawfish, potatoes, and corn in front of us and told us to dig in! As we ate, Ricky and Beth (along with the CARES team for the apartments -- shout out to Rachel and Zach!) walked around to make sure everyone had waters to drink, clean napkins, and also helped clear away the crawfish already devoured. Check out my photos to see how LARGE these suckers were! Everyone was able to get huge chucks of meat from the tails and claws before moving on to the next bug. Our table even had some crawfish eatin' pros sucking out the heads and nodding approval to the rest of us not as brave :p I thought everything was seasoned perfectly (I can't handle most spicy items- these had a nice kick!) but there were those around me wishing their portions were spicier. This was a family event, though, and it was nice the kids were able to enjoy it, too, since it was on the mild side. Robichaux's Place is new to town and I say definitely worth snagging for your next event - He does more than crawfish, too!

Parking is free in the garage. They offered 2 rental packages: 1) $350 rental fee (normally $500, but 30% venue discount for first time customers) and à la carte catering (full trays feeding ~30ppl/tray), vs. 2) $50/per person: any 4 items from menu, water / coffee / tea included, side dishes (steamed rice and mixed vegetables) included, and grazing board (charcuterie or banh mi board) included We went with option 1, honestly an extremely good deal compared to hosting at other venues we were looking at, especially for the quality of the venue itself, very modern, clean, and aesthetic with a full on kitchen and benefits of having tables/chairs/dishware already part of the venue. Reservation was for 3 hours with 1 hour for set up and 30 mins for breakdown. They allow outside food as long as it's dessert. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, shoutout to Adam for coordinating with us - helped us out in so many ways, from decor setup, to playing our music, to splitting bills, to accommodating for various dietary restrictions of guests, to cutting our outside cake we brought in, to assisting with cleanup and giving our guests to-go boxes for all the leftovers. Speaking of food, guests couldn't stop raving about it. Spring rolls were packed with shrimp (they offered various sauces for those with peanut allergies), the DIY banh mi tray was a major hit, and my personal favorite was the crispy pork belly, the skin was crispy perfection. We also got egg rolls, wings (fish sauce), and japchae which were all excellent as well. Can't recommend Lena's Asian Kitchen enough, great work y'all and thank you for having us!

In May 2024, I volunteered to hand out lunch boxes at Lena's Kitchen somewhere in SW Houston. Fast forward to now, I learned about this location and at 99 Ranch Market in West Houston. It's my goal to visit that location this summer. Coming to this location was a little tricky. I had to park on the top floor of the garage. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone from valet person to security guards to the moment I walked in. The employee gave me a quick introduction to the menu. It's fairly simple and I grabbed the lunch combo option: grilled chicken banh mi and vegetables potstickers. Everything was delicious including the water infused with cucumber and lemon. I'll bring my foodie friends over one of these days. Yeah. I'll be back.
