Beautiful bakery...friendly staff...appeal factor alone would lend this Review 5 stars! But.... the snickerdoodle bar was dried out. We really couldn't eat it stale really, as though it was days old and not made fresh. And... the brownie was not stale but the choice of chocolate for the recipe lended it a blah flavor. We stopped in for dessert after eating at the Prarie Brewpub next door with some friends. I was excited, because it was pie night, and I love a good slice of pie! My excitement quickly faded. Upon entering the building, there is no clear line direction or setup, so a few people ended up cutting in front of us, not on purpose, but it just seemed that nobody really knew where to go. Once in line properly, the person who asked what we wanted came off rude. I told her we wanted one slice of chocolate pie. She replied, "Here or to go?". I said we would like to eat it there, and her reply back, "No. You're getting it to go. We don't have any open tables."...have I been transported into an episode of Seinfeld?! Is this the pie Nazi?! I sheepishly replied, ok and took the piece of pie that had been smooshed into a to go container. The worker at the checkout station was actually the opposite and very kind. She is the reason I'm willing to give two stars for this experience. She gave us two cups for water, and we turned around to see a table was open, they just had not cleared it, so we sat down. I tried to get water, but their water dispenser was empty during our whole visit here. The finally filled it when we left. We waited for someone to bus our table but ended up stacking the dishes enough out of the way so that we could eat our pies. It was one of those 116 heat index days, or we would have simply gone outside. Okay, on to the pie. We got a slice of chocolate pie. The chocolate itself was not what you expect for chocolate pie. It was basically a chocolate mousse. The flavor was ok, but it was not the creaky and gooey type of chocolate you look for in a pie. The crust, though...my wife and I agreed the crust was inedible. It was super thin like a homemade cracker but also super hard. The flavor was awful and super salty. I understand the balance of sweet and salty, but this was just hammered with salt. Our friends got the coconut cream pie and seemed to enjoy it, so maybe that would have been the better way to go. So between the mostly rude service and not so great pie, personally, I don't see myself going back. read more

Once, they had these Gingerbread Cookies with hidden chunks of Dark Chocolate. Seriously, it was indescribable. The atmosphere is excellent, staff is perfectly Brady District Eclectic with personality and an obvious love for what they do. They have a secret Cold Brew Coffee, served from a Keg. It is a concoctive magical greatness. As a tip, get in in a bigger cup for adding creamer, this stuff will kickstart your day. I remember spending literally an hour and half in line at Tartine in San Francisco last year to try the world famous bakery. It was amazing and unlike any other. Today, I am convinced that Antoinette's can rival it. From the stunning brunch options, which change every weekend to their adventurous and unapologetic attempts at unique baked goods, it's all heavenly. Every bite is an explosion of happiness. Today, I tried their Instagram concoction, the chocolate croissant, which was not overly sweet and perfectly delicate. I stopped into Antionette while roaming around Downtown Tulsa. They have a lot of great options and it looks like they switch them up a lot. There were so many choices but we grabbed a stack of macaroons and a cookie then continued our walk downtown. They were amazing. That's all the detail I have to give. Simply fantastic. You won't be disappointed. I should note that they have plenty of seating inside. A surprisingly ample amount. The bakery itself is as cute as you imagine any trendy bakery. It has ornate wall paper, exposed brick walls, gold mirrors and a charming quote on the exterior window that simply reads EAT CAKE. Glad to hear in another review they're enforcing mask policy, because there IS no medical reason for not wearing one... people with breathing difficulties are the ones most at risk for COVID and the ones who most want to wear their masks. People with anxiety (like me) are anxious about COVID and want to wear a mask. So good! Had a fantastic lunch. Neat airy space. Facilitates good conversation over delicious food. There's so many sweets on display it's almost paralysis by analysis. We ended up with a Belgium waffle. Due to it being hardened by caramelization, the waitress recommended dipping it in their Hoot Owl coffee to soften it up. First time eating it that way! I'm completely sold!! My friend found her lentil side salad and BLT tasty. I ate my avocado tartine and made sure there wasn't anything left on the plate. I loved how it was only a dollop of goat cheese over a bed of salad on avocado and toast. Ugh, I can eat that same lunch for dinner the same day. What a memorable meal. read more

Antoinette's Bakery has been somewhat of a Tulsa phenomenon ever since opening their first storefront on Brookside. Since moving to their hip new space in the Brady, the frenzy has yet to subside. From cake to scones to pies to fresh made bread and everything in between Antoinette's blesses the masses with their quality baked goods. Their larger downtown space has also added them the ability to expand their daily changing breakfast and lunch menus. They welcome you to dine in over quiches, tarts, muffins, sandwiches and salads and encourage you to score some macaroon, brownies, or pies for later. On my most recent (and favorite) visit so far their lunch special of the day included a lobster roll - a no-brainer in my book - in honor of National Lobster Day (someone making these up but I don't hate it!). If you've ever treated yourself to any of Antoinette's house-made bread then you know that it needs no accompaniment to provide that wow-factor. But pair their buttery, toasted, split-top brioche bun with a mixture of sweet lobster meat, mayo and finely diced celery and you'll wonder if life can get any better! To my knowledge, this was their first time serving lobster rolls. I spoke to the owner before leaving and they were so thrilled with the feedback (verbal and the fact that they sold out in 30 minutes) that they are considering adding the lobster roll as a special once a week. Pie night has become a weekly ritual for my husband and I. We love it. The new location is amazing. It's spacious, bright and welcoming. I was worried they would lose they homey feeling but they have kept it. All the pies are top notch. They always have a few staple flavors and a few specials. The mile high is amazing, it's a staple. They serve milk, beer, wine, and speciality cocktails. There is always a line, but it moves quickly. Check their Instagram account or FB for the pie flavors ahead of time that way you are ready to rock and roll when when you get to the counter. They have nice clean restrooms. They also offer free water, next to the water you will find the silverware. Finally, the wifi password is at the counter. I have been to Antoinette Baking Co. twice now. Both times, as soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were very rudely told either how to wear our masks or how to walk up to the counter. It really put a damper on the whole experience. It felt very hostile and unwelcoming- almost like our business was an annoyance to them. We came in from Dallas, where we are use to a large selection for food that is gluten free or vegan. We went to another breakfast restaurant in Tulsa and was met a rude server and no choices and ultimately a waste of money. We started exploring the new art district and stumbled on to Antoinette's. We went in because of the charming atmosphere and was met with something even better, A GLUTEN FREE MENU! AS well as The nicest, warmest staff. We were initially looking for food food but they only had pastries, which we still got. They told us about their breakfast and we were back the very next morning before we went back home. I'm not sure which one is better, their breakfast or their sweets but I'll take both and definitely be back next time in Tulsa. This is a bakery right in the Brady Arts District. It's only been open a few years now, but man has it taken off. They do it all, you can order and pick up a full cake or you can stop by for dessert or a meal. Based on my experience, here is what I'm pretty sure their day is like: In the morning, you've got people coming by for coffee and breakfast. At lunch you've got people coming in for a sandwich any a pastry. Afternoon is time for people to leisurely stop by for a quick sweet treat. Evening is time for couples on dates and groups of friends to stop by for a nice innocent bite if dessert. Then right before closing, they just get slammed by some straight up drunk people who demand to stuff their mouths full of cake. They have a bunch of vegan items too. We've had their vegan cake and it's delicious. Vegan baking is weird, it isn't totally logical what does and doesn't have dairy in it. One thing I know for sure is that shortbread is NOT vegan, yet they have this vegan shortbread that's delicious. Vegan options won't matter for most, but I sure do appreciate it. The food is pretty good. Everything I have gotten from here seems to be pretty fresh and yummy. The reason for the low review is the service. Employees seem relatively disinterested in being there and last time I went there I waited for a good 5-10 minutes (was the only person in line, mind you) while several employees saw me, passed me, and didn't say a word or even acknowledge I was waiting. Nope! Completely overpriced for gross food. I went for brunch and was up charged to sub an egg for a vegan egg. When I asked about the upcharge the girl told me that I had to pay because I added an item. She later came back and said that they would remove the charge since it was a substitution but the woman who removed it had an attitude because she couldn't refund an added item so she refunded my coffee and acted like I was trying to get one over on her. When the food finally came, the cheese was missing and the bread on my sandwhich was definitely not sourdough which was the reason I wanted the sand which in the first place. I had the chicken curry sandwich (maybe a little overpowering on the curry). My friend had the egg salad (she said "Ok for one meal. Not wanting to have it again."). Food was fresh. Portions were suitable in size for the cost. Casual ambiance. A friendly and approachable staff that answered questions thoughtfully and brought a sample of a requested item to allow us to taste the menu item (hummus) before ordering it (not enough tahini, making it coarse and less flavorful). Menu very limited and no variation over time. Consult menu before visiting. We made two separate visits. Desserts were attractive, but prices were easily competitive with NYC, so we regrettably passed up purchasing any. By comparison, Kitchen324 in Oklahoma City's desserts are sold out by noon on a weekday. They do have a large number of law offices within walking distance. read more
