I have been here quite a few times and every time I've been there I had great food. The pizza is delicious and very fresh, and reasonable. 1/4/23 Wednesday @ 5:00 Pm MY NEW FAVORITE PIZZA SPOT! Small place but the interior and atmosphere is nice. Their house salad was beautifully presented and the pecorino/peppercorn dressing I picked was delicious (a little too much red onion in my salad.. but thats just my preference). We bought pizza by the slice, so we could try their different combinations and THEY WERE ALL GOOD. The pizza was floppy because they are Not stingy; they pile on the toppings. Also despite the pizza sitting for a bit while I finish my salad, the undercarriage was perfectly crispy when I but into my slices. We did have to seat ourselves after waiting a bit since they were pretty busy but other than that, all the employees were welcoming. . Side note: It got really crowded/busy as we were leaving. & I wish I took a picture of the food but we dived in and ate it all before we realized. Also I've seen a lot of reviews of the pizza,s being burnt, I hope when we return and get full pies instead of slices, that it's consistent.. I will update. read more

My husband and I just left Anthony's pizza...it was our 10 yr anniversary and the only thing we wanted was Anthony's antipasto salad and the grand mom pizza..we have only lived in Florida for 10 mths..we came from philly were we know great pizza but I gotta tell u...this pizza is to die for...our waitress Kaydn on learning it was our 10 yr anniversary brought us this Italian cookie tray...omg how sweet was that...all of the staff came over and asked us how everything was...this place will forever be our go to place for special events and just because...thank u Anthony's for making today even more special..and thank u kadyn for making our anniversary awesome read more

Good, not great... Good pizza dough, slightly under cooked-crust was a bit chewy. I always get a plain cheese pizza when trying any "New York" style pizzeria. To me this defines a good pizza, you can't hide with toppings. The balance of cheese, sauce and oil has to be perfect. My opinion of this cheese pizza was not great. Not enough cheese and dry, no oil drip with the proper slice fold. Also had the meatball parmigiana "sub" was okay, by no means a true NY MB Parmigiana HERO! Well... $45 for 6 slices of pizza? Yes! Ordered 2 slices for my daughter and me and the wife ordered a 14" - got a 16" and I had 2, and she had 2 slices (half a pizza left). Got the bill, and hey, wait, told the server. Here's where it gets good "sorry, I fix your check" ok hey where did our pizza go??? She comes back and we ask. "Oh half a 16 is the same as a whole 14 so..." Us "so where is it?" Her "it's our policy to throw it out" WHAT?!?! There you have it. Bill was $44 and change, and we had 3 sodas and 6 slices. Haven't done the math of the size difference between a 14 and 16 inch pizza but have never been so offended as to have a restaurant policy, when they make a mistake, to take your food and toss it - without saying a word - and I've worked as a professional chef. After looking at the Facebook reviews, I decided to give this new location of Anthony's in DeLand a shot. It's Father's Day and we didn't have a reservation, so pizza was the answer. But, since I am gluten intolerant, and I risk headaches and tummy aches, the pizza better be "to die for" good. Since New York pizza is the only pizza I'd risk pain for, Anthony's promises the dream. I ordered a take out 8-slice pepperoni pizza and a small Greek salad. The bill was around $23. The pizza was worth it! The pepperoni was the good deli kind, the sauce nice and spicy, and the crust - crispy, thin, and perfect. Did I mention I dream about New York pizza??? The Greek salad was good. This place is a rip off! We ordered two personal pizzas thinking they would charge the same as a specialty one. One was $40, another was $25. We were told by manager that they had to charge for each topping individually AFTER THE FACT. We were irate! There is too many Italian restaurants to be paying that much. Lots of menu choices: Full pasta dinners, subs, Stromboli, calzones, mussels, just to name a few. My son ordered 2 cheese slices and I had a slice of the POD (Pie of the Day) and a small salad. The POD was so good and fresh. Fresh spinach, tomatoes, sweet cherry red peppers, red onion and feta cheese. The small side salad was a great portion size. I gave the 4 stars because I am a crouton fan, and they were MIA and they didn't have my 1st choice in salad dressings. (1000 island). The sliced are big, NY style that you can fold in half when you eat. On that note we boxed up my sons 2nd slice. Their slogan is, it's all in the crust. I agree! Loved their crust. read more

Terrible service. When.i walked in the door the lady was like what do you want very rudly. It then took.her 10 minutes to get a menu for me and ask me what I want to drink. Had a unfortunate incident last night. This has been my family's go to pizza place. Yesterday we spent $150 on pizzas for a party and requested the plain cheese one be double cut. This did not happen. I called back to speak with the manager who said there is nothing she can do for me before I could even say anything. I wasn't looking for a refund or credit, simply wanted to let them know I was disappointed in the service I received and maybe a sincere apology. She could care less. Now further upset at her response she refuses to provide any information on how to talk a manager above her or the owners. I hope they see this and can be made aware on how poorly this manager represents their business. read more

HORRIBLE experience ordering a simple to go order. I called and ordered two slices of cheese pizza, an order of baked ziti and a some bread on a Tuesday night. The girl said 20-30 minutes which now was 6:47pm. I came in and paid for my order 30 minutes later. They told me my order wasn't ready yet. The restaurant was not busy maybe four booths. There was about four people now waiting for their to go order. They got their food and left while a few more came and left. At 8:00 I asked for my money back after my food was still not ready. They couldn't find my paid ticket until I asked them could that be my ticket sticking out of the top box above the pizza oven. Surprise it was mine. I asked if that was the two slices I had been waiting over an hour for and it was. They didn't charge me for them and said they were still hot. I left at 8:07 still without my baked ziti and bread. When I arrived home a few minutes later the two slices of pizza were room temperature. The next day I called to speak to the manager. I was informed they may be in the following day but not sure. So the following day I ask for the owner. I was informed they are not sure when he would be there. He stops in from time to time. I at least found out his name is Charlie. Okay is the manager in then. She'll be in later today. Okay and what is her name. It's Annalisa. If there is no manager now on duty then who's in charge there now. Oh that would be Anthony. I asked to speak to Anthony and told him how horrible my experience was two nights ago and never receiving my ziti after waiting an hour and fifteen minutes. He said well you didn't have to pay for your two slices. I said not hot slices and dry. I asked him were you the gentleman that was making the pizza when I was in there that night. He said yes. He said Annalisa was the one that gave me my money back. Imagine that. Both managers were there and could care less that the food called in was never made. I wondered how would they have felt if it was their dinner that they had been waiting on and never received. What a terribly run business that the employees are not trained how to deal with the public and from their actions could care less if the food ever gets made. It was only when I got home that I realized I had been given the wrong pizza. I call them and told them what happened. (lipstick and sauce) They messed up the salad order- completely wrong. They messed up a dinner order- brought us a plate we didn't order. When we refused it... NO APOLOGIES . The girl just said, "yours is coming now". Then, finally when it came, still no apologies. I have ordered from here over the last year, many times, but after what I witnessed recently, it'll be the last. While waiting to pick up and pay for my pizza that I ordered, I witnessed a male cook eating something while standing in the food prep area. Upon finishing his last bite, he immediately picked up a single slice of pizza from the prepared food and put it in the oven. Didn't wash his hands. Placed an order for two pies and garlic knots. I called ahead (3 hours). I was 10 minutes early for pick up. My pies were on top on the oven and I was told my garlic knots were not ready. Girl said about a five minute wait. I asked if my pies will be cold and the girl said no, the ovens act like heaters. I live five minutes away. When I got home and opened the boxes, both pizzas were ICE cold and the garlic knots that I had to wait for were cold as well. I called and they asked if I just wanted my pies reheated. I told them no, I want new hot pizzas and hot garlic knots. My husband was talking with the manager on duty and the cook comes over and gets involved in the conversation, telling my husband we should not have been late picking up the pizza! I was ten minutes early and that employee had no business getting involved in my husbands conversation. Never even got an apology until my husband told them we are business owners and we would never have handled our clients in that matter. This was not our first issues with Anthony's.
