Awesome all areas, great service, terrific menu choices, excellent pizza and other dishes

The food is plentiful, generous and good. We can never finish our portion, with enough for dinner the next night. The service is courteous and the food comes out fairly quickly. However, I made the mistake of looking up toward the ceiling, while sitting at one of the back booths. And there it was-3 huge what-looked like air-conditioners sitting close to the ceiling, covered in mold and mildew, with old water drip marks on the wall outside the kitchen service window. It is disgusting and most likely a health hazard for the people who spend hours everyday inside that environment. Go for the food but sit toward the front or take your order to go. read more

Had an opportunity to try a slice finally. Being a new resident and native NY'ker, was hoping this was gonna be really good. The patrons were happy and engaged! Great sign[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Upon reaching the counter I was quickly asked for my name if I was ordering to go. I took a moment to look at the huge double sided menu. I saw the slice and was surprised at the price. 25% higher than what I pay. The cheese slice was warmed and I put the garlic powder, yada yada. The slice was good, not great, not enough cheese for me, and the sauce was ok. I suspect I'll return at some point but for the higher cost and not as tasty as I wanted, it was hard to give it a higher score. read more

We had stopped coming here for a while because of the rude servers but decided to give them another try and the woman at the counter was friendly. The two times before that we were rudely treated. Been going to Anthony's since they day they opened, and they do have aswesome pizza an usually food, but yesteday I ordered the Chicken Maria and have to say it was the worst chicken I have eaten, the chicken tasted as if they get it in already breaded and possibly frozen, it just left a bad spot in my review. A hole-in-the-wall Italian eatery that has excellent food! We ordered Italian wedding soup as a starter and it was the best my hubby had had outside of Italy! He ordered spaghetti and meatballs as his meal and it was fresh and tasty. The pasta was cooked perfectly - not mushy! I ordered chicken Marsala and it was balanced a bit sweet - just the way it should be! The atmosphere is nothing to write home about; the real star is the food! The staff is friendly, shouting a greeting as you walk in the door. It's seat yourself, and our server was at the table in under 3 minutes. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu items. My mother in law loves this place and who am I to deny her some pizza. We placed our order and 15 minutes later it was done. The inside was spacious and quaint. The young lady who took our order was polite and efficient. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a caesar salad. The pizza is good and the salad was above average. The pizza was suppose to be 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 cheese but they spread the pepperoni throughout the pizza. Kinda disappointing but oh well we are hungry. I'm not sure about the other reviews but this was a random pick for a quick lunch in the area, when I saw three stars I was actually surprised. This was by far the best pizza we've had in long time. Called on my way home from Sanford to order a couple of pizzas at around 5:30 PM. Phone rang about 100 times before it just stopped ringing and I got disconnected. I called again and it rang about 14 times and then the girl picked up and told me to hold right away before I could say anything. Then the phone hung up on me. I called back and I got the same message from the girl. It is hard to find authentic New York Style pizza! Anthony's in DeLand hit the spot. I did lunch special which was two plain slices with Italian Wedding Soup. The crust was phenomenal complimented with fresh mozzarella that reminded me of my home in Connecticut. It was perfection, I did my famous test of taking the cheese off the bread and eating the bread and cheese separately and both did not disappoint me. The soup was amazing, shockingly because my palate is changing, I loved the soup more. It wasn't seasoned to perfection along with tasty meat balls. I look forward to going back soon! read more

My wife and I frequently visit here, to the point that most of the wait staff, knows what we want to drink when we sit down, without asking. Tonight we went for a quick sub for dinner, mind you, my wife always orders the same sub, an Italian combo, but has the salami taken off, I switch form time to time, I ordered the Godfather, with no tomato's and no hot peppers. When the subs arrived, the meats on her Italian, which should have been ham only, were the guts of my Godfather, with her toppings, on the other hand, my Godfather, was a ham and cheese, with the toppings I asked for. We called the waitress over, and explained the situation, she came back 3 different times and finally wrote down what we had ordered. The cook sent her back to our table and she informed us that he said, well that's the way those subs come. At that point I was getting a bit hot under the collar, I explained, that we come in here all the time, and order these subs this way, that they were made backward. I told her bring the bill for the drinks, I paid for them, with no tip, intentionally, and drove across the street to Angelina's were we are also always greeted as return customers, they served us what we ordered, and treated us as valued customers. Unfortunately, Antony's has lost a long time and much repeated customer in us forever. I refuse to go somewhere, and spend $60-$70 per visit plus tip, to be treated that way. Terrible hospitality food ok terrible dineing room experience. We arriver were seared right away. Drinks and starters came no problem there. Was a regular customer talking to the man making pizza in a tank top with his hair arm and his bear hanging over the plastic partian that separates the food from guest his arm was directly over the pizza dough and his beer with hair arm pit touching the partian. Nothing was said to him he was a friend of the business.when I went to the dirty bathroom the same guest was in the server station and a server was laughing with him about her tables complaining about him having his arm over the glasses. How stupid the guest were. When I went to back to my table he was telling the guy making pizza how stupid the guest was who complained him and laughing about how there no way they would tell him to stop or threw him out the employee just laughed and made more pizza. The pizza and pizza slice arrived for my family I was told mine would me right out. 30 min later I was told it was coming out in minute. When she arrives in five minutes. She said any thing I can get you. I said well there done eating and it has been 35 plus minutes since there food came out She said so do you want a box. I told her yes she brought the box and the check and acted like this was normal service.i took the check to the counter to pay and was told I had to pay my server I told them I had been here for over hour and half and just got my food and was taking my veal home to microwave do to poor service and she could take my check or I was leaving. reheated veal is not the greatest but she did not seem to care no offer of management when there help know there problem.
