There are limited options in Bryson City, yes. So we decided to try this spot because it's dog-friendly. We started with the toasted ravioli- deep-fried little pockets of creamy white cheese were lackluster and the marinara they were served with was so sweet it was just awful. Fettuccini Alfredo fared no better. It just wasn't special at all. The pizza was actually really good though. Go by and split a pizza with a couple of beers, and you'll be alright. read more

Came into Antony's Derailed for an early lunch before playing a round of golf. Lucky we go there early for lunch because we had no issue getting a table and it for sure filled up fast. Once looking at the menu they seem to focus on Italian but also have a bunch of burger options as well as other sandwich that aren't known for being Italian. After looking over the menu I went with a large order (10 piece) wings in Cajun Garlic sauce with both Ranch and Blue Cheese. Ashley and her parents went with The Deluxe Pizza. Once ordered we didn't we our waitress till we were about half way done with our meal so drinks didn't get refilled. I don't think was fully her fault though because we were the only table she has that was in her section. Once our food came out the wings looked good. They were large wings for sure but the sauce was kinda plan/bland. For being called Cajun Garlic you didn't get a lot of either flavor. I will said though on a positive the blue cheese was great. They give you a big serving of it and there we big pieces of actual blue cheese in it too. Ashley said the pizza was good but wasn't really hot more like just warm which was kind of a bummer. I will say we were moving quick though since we had a tee time to catch so we didn't too too much about asking if they could heat it back up. All and all Anthony's Derailed was just fine. Was very convenient for us but I probably wouldn't go back but that's more so because there are so many amazing options in Downtown Bryson City. read more

We always prefer to eat outside when the weather isn't too hot. Cool vibe to hang out and take in the train and relax. The burgers were tasty and my kids liked the pizza. The servers were super friendly as well. Toward the end, I think we got overlooked trying to get our leftovers boxed up and our check reconciled. Even after walking back in to find someone to give my money to, it took 20 minutes for someone to bring the check and get finished. Food was good, not so much on the end of the deal. read more

Wait staff does a great job. You can hear them working the room apologizing for the delays in getting food to the table. We split a combination pizza. It was good except for the fact that they pulled it about three minutes too early. The center was under cooked. I've read a lot of the comments about the kitchen being over whelmed. In looking at the menu, it's just too large. Either be an appetizer, sandwich, salad and burger joint, or focus on pizza, salads and appetizers. No way should it take 42 minutes to get one pizza to a table when half the seats in the restaurant are empty. And for the love on Mike, why do restaurants push their waitstaff to cover tables inside and out when they have 5 ladies on the floor at one time. It's difficult to get a great meal in Bryson City. I was attracted to Anthony's Derailed due to their claim of their pizza dough being made fresh daily. I got The Greek pizza to go. It was just ok, not all that great. I appreciate the freshly made dough but unfortunately the pie was mostly dough and not very much of the olive oil, cheese and toppings. So, when I call and order a pizza to go that I pick up at an outdoor window, I don't feel like I should have to tip. An employee is dedicated to the take out window and all he does is answer the phone and tell the pizza maker what you ordered and then ring you up and hand you your pizza. This man at the window was nice but suggested a tip and told me that it would be split with the pizza maker and salad maker. He really watched closely as I filled out my slip. So my expensive pizza got even more expensive when I added it in that tip. So is this place not paying the man at the window and the pizza and salad makers a regular wage? read more

Stopped by for some drinks and appetizers. The ambiance on the porch was wonderful - it was nice watching the train go by! The service was impressive, Sue took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Drinks were good. The spinach artichoke dip with their homemade bread was the best my husband and I have ever had! So cheesy. Husband enjoyed his wings with the spicy peach sauce. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress was out in no time taking our drink order and we went ahead and got an appetizer, the spinach and artichoke dip. It was served with a fresh pita type bread and it was scrumptious! I ordered a Polar Ice cocktail for myself, it was tasty and refreshing, but beware.. the alcohol you can't taste IS in there. And it WILL sneak up on you! For entrées, I went for the Italian sandwich which was HUGE and tasty! I couldn't even finish half of it after scarfing down the spinach dip, so it became two meals. I'm glad it was big, though, the fries served with it were a hard pass. They were barely warm and didn't have a good consistency if that makes sense, they probably weren't cooked thoroughly. Disappointing, but not worth mentioning to the waitress since we had PLENTY of food! My husband ordered the lasagna and said it was great, it had a LOT of cheese. Kiddo ordered spaghetti and meatballs and he enjoyed it. I noticed when the ticket came out I was charged extra for the meatball, which I would have left off if I knew it was an option, he didn't eat it, and that wasn't a surprise. It was listed on the menu as spaghetti with meatballs so I didn't know it was an option. My only gripe would be that when I requested options for "a small side of something like breadsticks" for my son, saying he'd eat one or two, the waitress brought out a $14 entree that was basically a cheese pizza sans sauce. If I had known what I was getting into I'd have just ordered the garlic knots on the appetizer menu for $6, we already had too much food. They were delicious, though, and came back to the hotel with us for late night snacking. Overall, I was pleased. All of the staff seemed pleasant and attentive. Good food options. If you don't wanna work and you don't want money, close your doors. My family arrived before 8:30 (after getting off of the train ride), and upon arrival, felt VERY uncomfortable and unwelcomed. We had to wait for a table for about 10 minutes, and as we were told that our table was ready and started heading to our table, we were approached by a young girl up front that worked there and said "by the way, just letting you know that we do close at 9:00". We were very aware of that, and can't help that we waited for a table to be cleaned. From my understanding (after working in restaurants), you welcome anyone in before closing time. We were in those doors well before closing. The entire time we were hearing negative comments from employees about what time it was and felt completely rushed the entire time, even employees throwing chairs up on the tables all around us. When it was time to pay the bill, our check was wrong and we stood there several minutes waiting for someone to check us out. If you don't have customers, you can't make money. read more

I talked the group into spending 3x the price over pizza hut, hoping to get a better quality product. Disappointing. Wings were ok. PH next time. I can't tell you anything about the food because we didn't get that far into our experience. My husband and I (just a party of 2) arrived at Anthony's at 8:30pm on Friday, August 15, 2025 after driving 5 hours to get to Bryson City. Anthony's and CJ's were about the only two places open that were not fast food restaurants. Parking was a nightmare but I had high hopes for the dinner. We were unenthusiastically greeted. We were sat in a section that had 5 out of 10 tables occupied and looked like 3 or 4 different waitresses. We sat there for 10 minutes and were never greeted by waitstaff, our drink order was never taken and no one looked in our direction as if to say, "I'm slammed but I'll be right there." I would have appreciated an eye or a nod to say, "Hey I see you, and I'm on my way." No greeting, no service. We left after 10 minutes and went and got deli sandwiches at Ingles that cost 1/4 of what we had been willing to pay for our dinner at Anthony's (had our presence ever been acknowledged). I work in customer service and have for the last 20 years. You greet your customer. You give them attention. Ignored and unseen. read more

Super nice service! Food took a little while but as to be expected because they were really busy. We really enjoyed the meatball sub and chicken melt, fries were super crispy. The food was barely edible. All 5 meals were bad. The appetizer sampler looked so bad the server suggested we don't eat it and she'd take it off our bill. It was awful. And, it was served with our meal, so much for appetizer. And, spent the dinner listening to another guests dog barking every two minutes at each person who walked by. Please read entirely: Food was great. We went here after seeing it was a fan favorite. It was our first time in Bryson City. I will say it was super busy, but I'm not surprised because it's right across from the train station where they do the Polar Express. We got their: sampler platter: jalapeño poppers were amazing, the rest of it was good. Lasagna: was really good! Spinach manicotti: was also very good. One thing I noticed that I actually liked was people who got pizza to go, the guy who was cashing them out showed them the pizza to 1.) make sure it was correct, 2.) make sure it was done enough for them Reasons not for 5 stars: The paper in the to go boxes we were not a fan of. It was a battle to eat the food with that in it. The garlic knots: they were good, but we noticed a inconsistency in size and they did not have a lot of garlic. We would come back. We were a little hesitant before coming based on some of the reviews, we're very happy we ignored them and tried this place out. What to expect when going there: we went on a Saturday night at 6pm. It will most likely be bust because of the time of the year. Seating wait time was 45-50 min for 2 people, they do take reservations, so plan ahead if that's an issue. BUT takeout was about 30min. Parking is VERY limited so either find street parking and walk or get lucky and get a spot in their parking lot. I'd honestly say give this place a tried if you're on the fence you won't be disappointed. read more

We asked our waitress about it and she said oh it doesn't come with that anymore and we haven't changed the menu. I shared that's the main reason we ordered it and and she said "sorry". This was a pretty cool place inside with lots of additional seating outside on a large, street side porch. Not sure if this was their first day opening after Covid, but there was tremendous, ongoing confusion/miscommunication amongst the staff. We came here for dinner. The hostess soaked each menu in a tub of disinfectant, which was appreciated. While waiting for a table I tried to order a beer and just kept getting sent back-and-forth from one end of the restaurant to the other. In the end, I had to wait to be seated to have a beer. We were shown to our table and only after they supposedly disinfected it. I say supposedly because when we arrived to the table about a fourth of the small table had food debris on it from the last guest. So much for thorougly disinfecting. One seated, it took about 10 minutes for a server to arrive to our table. Of their beer selection, they only had one local craft as the rest were tapped out. We ordered a pizza, half Deluxe (everything) and half pepperoni sausage mushroom. The server didn't write it down, but we repeated it twice and she repeated it back to us once. She came back to our table 5 minutes later and asked us what toppings we wanted on the pizza because she forgot. When the pizza finally arrived, it wasn't correct (surprise, surprise). The pizza was pepperoni and sausage on one side pepperoni sausage mushroom on the other. We certainly were not going to wait any longer and send it back so we just kept it. The dough on this pizza was slightly undercooked on the bottom and just did not have a good flavor to it. This was one of the worst pizzas I've had in a some time. I really wanted to like this place but several things turned us off. We came for early dinner on a Friday and were seated on the deck. I asked our young waitress what beers were on tap and she said she forgot to check (isn't that your job?). We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, meatball sub, and a mushroom swiss burger. While eating the dip, my teeth came across something solid and I pulled out a piece of plastic (it looks like those square pieces of plastic from wrapped bread loaves). I brought this to the attention of the waitress and she just said "I'll notify the kitchen." No apology or offer of a make-good. The food was filling and reasonably priced (we took leftovers back to our inn) but based on our experience I can't fully recommend this place. read more
