Anthony Restoration in Gainesville, aka Operations Advisors. Don't use them. I think they may pay Google for their name to be always on the top of searches. They are the perfect example of making the BIGGEST profit on someone's catastrophic event. I have a 3 level townhouse, the pipe was leaking on the second floor. They brought 3 dehumidifiers and 11 fans. 2 dehumidifiers were on the bottom floor and 1 dehumidifier on the second floor. Per what they told us, after one week of drying, the bottom floor was dry but the one area in second floor was not to the dry standard. So they brought another machine, an infrared machine to dry the problematic area. All fifteen machines were burning my money. They could have turned off the bottom floor and brought the dehumidifier to the second floor. They let all those useless fans on to burn my money. The longer and the more machines they have running, and the more drywall and floors they tear down, the more they can charge you. They told us it would cost $7000 before I signed the contract. They ended up charging us $19843.19 with 107-line items for less than 2 weeks or a total of 16 hours of work. I reviewed each item. They charge Emergency call for $346. We told them we have already paid the emergency call and asked them to remove this charge. They said this charge was for bringing the tools to the house. Beside they had already itemized everything, e.g. charge 24 hours on equipment setting up and monitoring, every line item for tearing down baseboards, trims, etc.
My bottom floor, which was sat on concrete, had no water damage. They tore down the floor simply so that they can charge for every little bit of it (tore down (1) number of square feet of the floor, (2) number of feet for baseboard, (3) number of feet for trims, (4) number of square feet of space they can spay chemical, (5) number of square feet they can vacuum, and (6) number of square feet they clean). Beside no evidence on them actually have done all this works other than tearing down the floor and moving debris out.
By the way, they spent more time on measuring everything for their billing purpose than actually doing the water damage treatment. The person who does the work took a lot of pictures. The billing person calculate all these 107-line items based solely on the pictures and the measurements. From what I understand, the billing person gets a commission on the amount of the bill, therefore they have motive to overcharge and invent charges. They charged 24 hours equipment setup and monitor based on so called "Industry standard" of 2 hours per day. When I questioned and disputed the number of hours should not be based on "Industry standard", they ignored the dispute.
Do yourself a favor, and don't fall into Anthony Restoration's trap. Search a little more and deeper to find a company who will do the work for a fixed price. read more
