I booked an appointment for an eye exam 3 days ahead of time. I went for my appointment and arrived 15 minutes early. The receptionist immediately disappointed me by telling me I won't be seen until 30 minutes after my appointment time. Pretty irresponsible of this place - not everybody has the schedule flexibility to accommodate this. I would understand if I were a walk-in or if I called and tried to get them to fit me in on the same day, but this was not the case. I decided to stay and began filling out the requisite forms. The receptionist asked if my last name was really the one I gave (since it's a shorter last name). I laughed at the ridiculousness of the question, and she decided to make a big deal out of her own incompetence. Meh, whatever. Dr. Kravitz was very professional. He gave quick service and filled my prescription with terrific accuracy. I was very pleased with this part of the exam. But then... I returned to pick up my contacts after they were ready. The same receptionist decided to be even less pleasant this time around. She told me to sign in even though there was only one person ahead of me. I was about to ask if I still needed to since there was only one person ahead and I was just picking up contacts, but she cut me off and made a big deal yet again out of nothing at all. I liked Dr. Kravitz. His professionalism along with the convenient location makes this office pretty good. Unfortunately, the unprofessionalism and downright rudeness shown by the receptionists makes it difficult to return. read more

I've been coming to see Dr. Kravitz for over 20 years. He and his staff are friendly and professional. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else for your eyeball needs. FYI, His new location is conveniently located a few steps from the Metro blue line. read more

I had an eyeglass emergency this morning (I slept with them on and bent the base where the leg attaches to the rest fo the glasses). I went to my trusty friend, Yelp, and it came up with Dr. Kravitz's office and it was really close to my work, so I decided to take a shot. David, the person behind the front desk, greeted me with a warm hello and asked what he could help me with. I stated my case with regards to what had happened. He did warn me that in trying to repair my glasses, that there was a slight chance of it snapping/breaking. At this point, with no backup glasses in my possession, I proceeded to ok the repair. During the next 5 mins, I took a look around the place for potential frames and David came back with my repaired glasses! He then told me about the different options that I had about purchasing new glasses. I will definitely be back to do some price comparisons. But, the fact that I had a great brief experience, coupled with the fact of the proximity of the office, would cause me to come back again! Highly recommend! read more

I've needed glasses since I was in the 5th grade. If I recall correctly, I first visited them in 2000-'01. I am now 23 yrs of age and ever since then, I have received all my pairs with Dr. Kravitz. I have never had an issue with them. I have always arrived on time for my appointments and the most I've waited past my time is 20min (keep in mind I called 3hrs earlier to see if they had an opening for that day). I don't mind waiting at all because I know I will leave happy. I only trust them and with great service comes patience on our behave as a customer since it is a small business. I believe his son works there too. I tend to forget if son or nephew. Anyways.. one time, I did have an issue with my current pair actually and his "son" said he'd fix it for me on the spot or for pick up the next day. That same pair did take longer to come back from the lab though because I ordered from a catalog instead from their display. I don't remember the reason why, but they gave me a discount and they know I am a loyal and frequent customer there. :) Almost my whole fam schedules apps. My sis goes there and my mom has gone about twice (she doesn't break her glasses like my sis & I, & doesn't care about updating her frames). I even refer people to him when certain people say they like my glasses and where did I get them. ( I should keep his info at hand. haha..) I'm happy to hear they will be moving to a brand new location on Figueroa. Maybe this way they will get more business and hire more staff so impatient people wont complain about the wait. OH SUCK IT UP! P's. I also hope he doesn't retire soon. :( read more

Went there for a new frame glasses after one year experience of contacts with them. The contacts are ok when I wear them for sports, but not so good with anything else when precision really matters. Then I went there for prescriptions for frame glasses. One for my current glasses as I feel them ok. One for my current sight. Unfortunately they got both of them wrong. The former one has issues with axis of one eye, the latter one has problems with astigmatism. This is really sad as I was preparing my dissertation over the last semester and the prescription made me really frustrated. One more then the first time they gave me the frame glasses, the frame is broken. It is visually obvious, the frame legs are way apart, and they keep falling down my nose. However, the three front desk people (one guy and two ladies) take turns to tell me that it is not a big problem. Until I asked if I could get full refund the doctor came out and say they can remake it. The reason I always go to this store is that it is near campus and I don't have a car. Later my friend drive me to Costco and it is better for a thousand time. Sorry to say so, but as an engineer, I think things will be easy if they know what they are doing and how to do it. I don't recommend this store. Neither correct prescriptions nor customer services. Find other places. read more

Positives: Kravitz and assistants are laid back. Got my contact prescription correct Negatives: Could not get my left eye's prescription right in 2 tries! * * I have screwy eyes so I can't blame him 100% for this, so I give 73% blame to him. read more

I really enjoyed my experience coming to Dr. Kavitz. He was thorough throughout my exam, answered all my questions and provided suggestions about the type of glasses I should be using. I have never had an optometrist recommend let alone tell me the extra things I don't need. The staff were extremely friendly and gave their honest opinion about which frames fit best with my face structure. Again, that has not happened to me before. The prices are very affordable especially for someone who is working part-time. I went to lens crafters last year and paid double for what I paid here. Overall, I left feeling cared for and not just another number. I definitely recommend coming here, especially if you are a USC student!! Thank you all! read more

I have been to this location twice and everything was great. My only issue is that when I picked up my glasses, I had to pay an extra $50 because of an oversight by their staff. I am displeased that this wasn't spotted the first time. Again, I love the staff and everyone there. My experiences have been great aside from this one. I hope things get better in the future. read more

Dr Anthony Kravitz is the best optometrist I've ever seen. I got some issues wearing glasses in the past, I used to felt fatigue after hours of wearing glasses, I tried different optometrists, they can't figure out why. Dr Kravitz told me it was the difference of my left and right eye that causes the symptom. He recommended me to use contact lenses which perfectly solved my issue. I'm really thankful for his advice! read more

I've been coming here for years. Since I liked the frames my sister got at Lens-Crafters, I tried going there. No one acknowledge that I was there. When I come to Dr. Kravitz, everyone is very attentive and nice. I rather support a small business that means well, that a corporation trying to make money. read more

Loved how thorough Dr. Kravitz was and how patient the front office people were with me. He took the time to explain what was going on with my eyes and even stopped to ask questions when I mentioned an issue from years before that my previous eye doctor brushed off. It took me forever to find my LA eye doctor but I think I made a great choice. Also, they validate...and there is yogurtland next door!!! read more

Dr. Kravits is the best! You can tell he cares about your eyeballs, probably more than you do!! He gives you samples of contacts before you commit to buying boxes, which is always awesome. Their frames vary in prices and designs. You can usually find something you like, within your budget. The staff is friendly just a little unorganized. Get ready to wait a long time, even if your picking up stuff, but they validate the parking though. read more

Prepare for an extended wait. I normally block off 1.5 hours whenever I visit the office. The agony over the wait time is ameliorated by the attention to detail the doctor gives to the exam on top of the friendliness of the staff. read more

Dr Kravitz and his staff provide wonderful care and service. He took the time to explain what was going on with my eyes and his staff helped me pick out some really cute frames. They do an outstanding job of treating you like you're their only client. read more

I came with the insurance from my company. Dr. Anthony is a very nice man. He really cared about my eyes and the customer servicer were very friendly. One lady with the long hair was bit of rude/indifferent. But others were great. The other lady helped me to choose the frame which looked cute on me and reminded me of taking the selfie with it. haha. Highly recommended. They have the packing in the back and will validate for you within 2 hours. Use it!! read more

Dr. Kravitz is nice, efficient, and makes an effort to keep an eye (har har) on your history to make sure everything is in order. Asks me detailed questions about how I like various changes since the last visit, etc. I have no complaints about my prescriptions, and he's been able to find solutions for all of my eye complaints (dry, itchy eyes were a pain for my first few months in L.A. and have been much better since). His staff are friendly and efficient as well. My appointments rarely take longer than half an hour door to door. read more

The last time I went to Dr. Kravitis it was in the UV. Now thyve moved to Gateway, which is a much nicer location. Im writing this review because I genuinely like Dr. Kravitis and the receptionists. Very rpofessional and easy. They give the best recommendations for you, definitely do not have to worry about being scammed like traditional retailers. Definitely the place to go for a USC student with USC insurance. read more

I've been going to Dr. Kravitz for years and am very happy. His new office location is convenient, clean, and moder. Dr. Kravitz is always very thorough with his explanations and the options he offers. Additionally, the selection of lenses and frames he offers are both fashionable and affordable - especially if you have VSP insurance. read more

Came in to order replacement parts for my Raybans. Company didn't have the part, but David was able to practically fix my glasses free of charge. Awesome service read more

Avoid this office unless you're bound by insurance. This office primarily serves the USC community. They have a limited selection of frames and charge for everything including cases ($5). I brought in my prescription and 6 weeks later and 3 different prescriptions we ended up going with the original prescription I brought in. Fortunately I didn't have to bear the expense. However, they did make new lenses for a pair of drill mounted frameless Mikli's. The screw threads were stripped on one side so I essentially threw away $200 as they are unwearable. read more

Took an hour & a half out of my day, got my eyes dilated, & paid $96 to have him tell me my prescription doesn't need to be updated. It does. read more

Terrible. Staff are incompetent. Was told that the material determines the strength of the lens, rather than its curvature... It's been two months and have still yet to receive a pair of glasses that actually work and office refuses to give refund. This office botched my prescription and instead of giving me a re-examination, they continue to guess/approximate what the correct prescription should be, because although each pair of lenses has improved slightly they are still too strong. I've attempted and still attempt to contact Dr. Kravitz on several occasions to schedule a re-examination and he has yet to return my calls. read more

READ THIS BEFORE COMING HERE: this guy guesses at what your prescription should be. He does not know what he is doing. For contact lenses it's okay because when he gets it wrong 3 times (no joke) it's still okay since you can easily switch the contact lenses. BUT FOR GLASSES - You better RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! He gave me a wrong prescription TWO times and the prescription differed by - .75. You must be thinking, WTF? How can a licensed "professional" do this? I'm still wondering the same thing. I called his office to tell the workers that the doc got it wrong AGAIN (I was getting horrible pains and migraines because the prescription was obviously too strong) and the doc just told them to give me a refund because he was unable to find the right prescription. Ummm....my prescription isn't that complicated FYI. All that time spent for nothing. Thanks for wasting my valuable time! Urg! Also the lenses here are super cheap quality and their anti-reflective made everything look super purple! DONT GO HERE! (I know it's conveniently located but you will regret it!) But wait, there's more! They scam USC students and charge them $55 for an eye contact exam when it should be $40. The EyeMed insurance associates had to yell at the workers for overcharging! BEWARE BEWARE BEEEEEWAAAAREEEE!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Great service. I have been getting my glasses and contacts from Dr. Kravitz for years actually decades. Love the new location on Figueroa.

I recommend if you are looking for an eye doctor to go ANYWHERE ELSE in Los Angeles. Dr. Kravitz's office is the most disorganized of any I've ever encountered. They moved locations and never notified me, and they never once called to remind me to come in for my yearly checkup. All of this would be fine, except they refused to fulfill my 1-800-CONTACTS order because I hadn't come in for my checkup. I'm traveling for the holidays, and asked that they please authorize one box so I could have enough until my next appointment in January, and they refused to do that too. I told them I would have to find another doctor, and they were fine with that, as well. They said it would be a liability for them to refill my lenses, but what about the liability of me walking around without contacts? I have a -5.50 prescription. That is dangerous! I have never met a doctor who cared so little for his patients. read more

Carol and Daisy are great! Haven't had an appt yet but just the process so far to make appts have been so pleasant

The employees have poor customer service skills. They don't communicate with patients. Came in for a 1030 appt, arrived at 1019 and was told the doctor was coming in at 1100am. They failed to call me to let me know of the change. read more

Love Dr. Kravitz's office! I've been seeing Dr .Kravitz for years, and he has always been attentive, patient, and kind. Also, the day before my wedding, I realized that I was out of contacts, and Dr. Kravitz saved the day! He was able to get my rx to me in time, so not only could I see that I was marrying the right guy, but I didn't have glasses glare in all the photos! Thanks to the whole office team for being so helpful!! read more
