You ever have a basement window just....sporadically shatter for no apparent reason? Well,…read moreevidently this is just a thing that randomly occurs in this part of town. The last time I had glass shatter spontaneously was back in '24 when our winter storm door screen was completely pulverized by the summer heat, it seems (Pro-life tip: swap out your storm door screens in the summer with mesh ones). On the back of that unforeseen devastation, out went my mass inquiries to all the local shops servicing the Nashua area. Out of maybe 5 (?), 3 responded almost instantly. One sent a quote so high, I was half tempted to reply and ask if I could have some of whatever they were smoking. Another replied with what seemed to be a promising rate, but there was one problem. Their communication was severely intermittent to the point where they inexplicably ghosted me faster than a recruiter responding to a job applicant. Ultimately, I settled on Good Window Works. They offered a fair quote, were easy to get ahold of, and even provided a COI statement as per the request of our housing board. For those unaware, a COI is a Certificate of Insurance. Basically, it's assurance to the board that the contractor in question is insured to complete the job without creating a liability if they, say....jam their thumb beneath a tack hammer or something. With those formalities out of the way, the job was simple enough: Replace the half of the basement window that abruptly disintegrated. All in all, the job took roughly 2 hours. In the end, the window he installed was so transparent, it looked like there was no pane at all in the frame. But no--the glass was just THAT pristine! I don't say this often, but....experiences like these are what I love most about being a Yelp writer. So rarely do I get to be in the position to not only promote another hard working local business, but also pose as the microcosmic advertising vehicle that just might serve as the prompt some very fortunate individual needs to go, "Yeah, I'm hiring this place to work on my house". If you're wondering whether you should hire these guys for your next installation or repair job, the answer is likely yes. Good Window Works is worth 5 window panes clearer than thin air out of 5.

I had a window with a broken pane on the third floor attic. I called several places, including one…read moreI've used for years for glass and screen repair. Only Good Windows responded and sent someone out to do an estimate. They just finished the job. The original estimate was done from the ground, however when the technician was able to get the unit out of the frame, (This is an old style window), we both saw that additional work had to be done. The tech did the work and did an excellent job. It was only a bit more over the original estimate, but quite reasonable. I highly recommend Good Window Works.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Precision Door & Window! In 2002, I had 13 double-hung…read morewindows replaced in my previous home in Stoughton. I sold the house in 2023 and still, the windows were in great condition. So, after downsizing to a fixer-upper, I naturally called Precision. I did get other quotes but again, went with Precision. This time it was 8 double-hung windows plus a huge 4 lite bow window. I can't say how pleased I am with the meticulous work Chris and his team did. The first windows delivered did not have the correct grid and Tony immediately ordered replacements to swap out. This was done in a timely manner and I was over the moon happy. The bow window installation looked difficult but these experienced guys got it done and it's absolutely beautiful! Some minor details had to be addressed regarding the bow window. Chris came out again and finished the inside with impeccable woodworking skills. He then showed me a gap on the outside of the house where the old window projected a bit more and said they'd come back to fill that and finish it off. 08/30/24 - Chris was back with help - the window gap was filled in and it looked as if it was always there. Perfection! He also replaced a screen that arrived with a small tear. Inside and out, the windows are perfect! The crew was friendly and respectful of my home. They left my property neat and clean. I had such a positive experience with Precision - just as I had 22 years ago. I highly recommend them to family and friends. Great workmanship, quality and extremely competitive prices! Melinda N. It's a multi-generational family-run business. They still live in town. They don't screw their customers because they're our actual neighbors. Just found out I'm friends with the owner's uncle. There's a reason they have been open for over 60 years!

I would highly recommend anyone looking for windows to get a quote from Reliable…read more Reliable Window was recommended to me by a family friend who had around 14-15 windows replaced by Reliable about 7 years ago. After looking at the windows they had installed and seeing they were still in great shape I decided to give Reliable a call. I needing 6 windows replaced and they were able to get their contractor out to my house within 2 days to take rough measurements needed to create a quote. About 3 three days after that I had a quote for the job and the price was exceedingly affordable compared to several other quotes I had gotten. I was using the MassSave Heat Loan program to acquire a loan for the work and Reliable was helpful ensuring I had all the necessary information and paperwork to get approval. I also had to let them know that one of the windows they measured wasn't one of the ones being replaced and needed to have a different window done. It wasn't their fault as I had spaced and told them the wrong window originally. They were quick getting the new measurement and getting me a new quote which was for the same price as before. I worked with Carol and never had any difficulties contacting her by phone or e-mail. The majority of our communication was through e-mail which is fine with me because it is what I prefer.

This review is especially helpful for potential customers who are POC. During the renovation of my 2 homes (same property) a member of the Reliable crew working on my 80 year old parents home asked me to turn off the a/c for 20 minutes so that he could remove siding without damaging the unit. We complied and shut off the a/c inside the house via the thermostat. About 25 minutes or so after the request was made I went outside and asked the worker if we could turn the a/c back on. He said yes and when we turned on the thermostat the display was blank and the a/c didn't come on. Then we tried the lights. No power. Then we had both our handyman and the visiting Reliable sales rep check the breaker boxes and everything was in working order - no switches were tripped but still no power in the house. The sales rep contacted Rob on his cell and tried to explain the situation - the power went out after their crew was demoing near the electrical wires. Rob refused to believe that the company was in the wrong and continued to berate Jay on speaker phone about how to troubleshoot the electrical issue with me and the work crew listening. After about 10 minutes of debating the issue, Rob frustrated with not being able to find a suitable resolution, made a derogatory statement about me and my family. He stated that since we couldn't figure out how the power went out he could only assume that we didn't pay our bill. Not the right thing to say about your Black customers. The comment was so egregious and inappropriate that I was shocked and gave a response that I cannot include in this review. Our sales rep was mortified and the whole situation escalated because of Rob's lack of consideration for his customers and employees. After hanging up on Rob, our sales rep was able to troubleshoot the issue and a member of the crew notified us that the power had been restored. There are other issues with Reliable that occurred during the almost 2 months they were working on our homes - lack of communication about material deliveries including the dumpster and porta potty; no set timelines for the work; not providing adequate staff consistently to the work site; no communication about payment - we have yet to receive a final bill and the work was completed on July 20th. It's now August 6th. The only pro that came from the renovation is that the house looks great! But even that small joy is clouded by Reliable's lack of attention. There are 3 small areas that need to be finished and there has been no communication about when it will be resolved. This company really needs to step up its administrative practices and treat their customers like they matter.
