Ok this place was so much fun!!!…read more This is like a life sized, Mario party mini games recreation (in my mind anyways). Before you arrive, you need to sign a waiver since it involves a lot of physical activity. Then when you sign in you are giving a wristband to play the games and a wristband for a locker if needed. The building is a bunch of separate rooms and each room has a different set up which holds a few different types of games that are possible to be played. You check into a room by tapping your wristband at the front of it. And then get to select which game you'd like to play on a screen outside the room. The people playing inside will be notified to leave the room once their current level is completed (whether successfully or not). The set up is quite well done and you never feel like you're waiting a long time for a room or getting kicked out often of the rooms you're playing in. I felt like a kid again, running around playing all kinds of fun, cooperative games. And as I looked around I noticed people of all ages were there. Good ol' family fun. I will be back again!

You can play games competing as individuals with your own scores and ranks or you can compete as a team in each of the activities. We did a little bit of both and I could see how either approach would work just fine.

I'll start off by mentioning that we do have the Oculus at home, so me and my kids have used the headset and controls before. My kids are 6yo and 8yo and are under the recommended age of 10yr, but both fared well at this arena. The headset was a bit big, but Shawn (owner of this Burlington location) recommended that they bring a toque to help make it fit better. You do have to book a time slot for your experience and I hear that their weekends can fill up pretty quickly. We got to the complex at our scheduled time (it is housed within this plaza that offers swimming, dancing, coding classes) and after leaving our things in the locker, we were brought in a LED-lit room to begin our orientation. You do have to pay attention as the video also gives you instructions on the games that you'll be playing. Our first game was Engineerium. This game does not require use of the Controller. All you need to do is follow the path. The stepping stones are constantly moving and some parts make it look as if you're walking upside down! The headset is for you to communicate with your teammates and for the staff to guide you if you get stuck. I really enjoyed this quick 15m game. Our next 30m game was Singularity. You do need the Controller for this game and it is quick a big piece of equipment that you need to keep tight to your body the entire time. I found it tiring to be constantly eliminating robots and drones, but then again, I'm not a gamer. It was a fun experience for the entire family and my 6yo is already asking when we can go back. Shawn, the owner, was very helpful and answered questions that I had before going in via Instagram. The staff were friendly and helpful and the arena was very clean (no shoes allowed). I highly recommend this for a group outing, 10/10 must try!!

Very slick, clean and organized place, great selection of games and the staff are wonderfully helpful. If you need help getting used to the equipment, they're there. If you just want to log in and do your thing, they give you space but will pop in on mic once in a while to make sure you're comfortable. The price is a little steep for me so I can't go as often as I"d like, but the two times I've been thus far have been a blast. I really think it's a great place to give VR a try if you've never played it before! One thing I wanted to stress is cleanliness. When you walk in, the smell reminded me of a hospital - which to me was great because that assures me that they keep the equipment clean and sanitized and I had no qualms about using it - I was completely at ease. They also have a pretty good referral and monthly membership program that gives you all sorts of discounts - I used mine to bring my sisters and everyone got 15% off which REALLY helped convince them to try it out, lol. All in all, a great place, come try it out!

They have a large selection of games to choose from. I definitely recommend going for at least an hour or more, especially if it's your first time, because we found that getting used to the mechanics and learning the games takes some time. Once we got into it we had a blast playing the games! Overall it was a really fun experience and we definitely want to come back again to try more games!

The rec room locations in Canada had really terrible reviews and we decided to look local. I suggest coming earlier to get used to the controls, it's a little different. We had so much fun, highly recommended. I do love the free classic arcade games in the front that we can play as we wait. Thoughtful touch. Wish it was located more downtown near all the bars and nightlife, this place would be an even bigger hit. Looking forward to the new developments. I'd def come back again.

But the one down side of it was that, we weren't able to move around. Just station at one spot, but it was still fun. I'm probably the worst gamer...not coordinated at all and have a high chance that I will die first. But it was pretty easy to pick up, so I can imagine that anyone like me can have fun too.
